Couldn't wait to take the pic. Had to take a bite! 7/10!

Drago's, Morrow's, and NeYow's, are all good. But, for some quick and affordable viddles, head over to Triangle Deli. It's a local spot that is not going to show up on anyone's list of places to visit. It's a little hole in the wall gas station (not sure they actually sell gas) that offers up some tasty treats. Also- there is no place to eat inside. It's 100% take out. On my visit to NOLA, a local friend told me about Triangle and I was able to make it there before heading back home. The Uber driver that took us to Triangle was not feeling my selection and said he is a Morrow's kind of guy. The Uber driver that picked us up said he had never been because he stays away from the 7th Ward. As for me, I mind my business and seek out the hidden local gems even if they are off the beating path. IMHO, that is where the goodness really is. Can I just say we left out with a box of food. We had crawfish étouffée, stuffed peppers, shrimp&chicken po'boys, shrimp pasta, gooey lemon cake, Hubig's NOLA-style pies and a grape Big Shot! Don't judge. We were picking up for others as well. LOL! Everything was good. Seasoning is the key. They do it well at Triangle. I told one of the Aunties we were traveling back home and would be freezing the stuffed peppers. She wrapped them up real nice and tight for us and helped us cary our order to the register. When we first came in, she was giving serious mean auntie. By the time we left, she was all smiles and wishing us safe travels. I love my folks!!!! Shrimp Étouffée 7/10 Shrimp&Fish Po'Boy 7/10 (needed hard roll) Shrimp Pasta 7/10 Stuffed Peppers 8/10 Corn 8/10 Potato Salad (didn't try it) Everything else - taking home Everyone has a different palate/taste buds. But, don't rule a place out because of location. You may really miss out. Happy eating!

Baked macaroni and cheese, candied yams, and potato salad

Here I go again with these gas stations. Once again, a hit with the food. I stopped here for lunch and got a very messy rib plate, but it was one good mess. Every single item on my plate was delicious. I judged the baked macaroni wrongly. Since it looked like it didn't have enough cheese, I thought it would be dry. That was so not the case. It wasn't overly cheesy, but it was just enough cheese and seasoned just right. My ribs were juicy, potato salad was good, and sweet potato was chef's kiss. Now it's a bit pricier option, so if you prefer a more economical lunch, you may have to come here every now and then. The amount of food they pack on the plate, you will have lunch and dinner. It is absolutely worth every penny in both quality and quantity. Down home and local faves on the menu (hint: stuffed bell peppers). The ladies fixing the food are kicks, and they make you feel at home. Good customer service.

I decided to stop and triangle for lunch. They have a plethora of options. I set it on the seafood bell pepper special. It was two stuffed seafood bell peppers for $10. The service is pretty straightforward. You walking through the door Go straight to the back and a lovely ladies behind the counter will guide you through the menu if you are confused and take your order. The bell pepper is stuffed with meat and shrimp. One is definitely a meal by itself but two you got something to eat later on. It's a nice, good spot to check out for lunch if you're in the area

This place is always PACKED... be patient.

Everyone LISTEN!!! Do not waste your time looking for a chain restaurant that serves mediocre food... this is where the locals go so you know it has to good in the hood. Triangle Deli is the Gem of Metairie LA... the service here is AMAZING. The food is unmatched and everything I get here is simply delicious. I recommend trying a little bit of EVERYTHING. The Triangle Deli has made my Platinum List of must tries when in The Crescent City. Trust me you won't be disappointed... So let it be written... So let it be EATEN!!

Best gas station takeout food ever! When in New Orleans, be sure to stop by for the best selection of soul food, Cajun Creole style, and flavor. Walk around to the right of the cash register, and you will be impressed with the delicious array and selections. The prices are great and so are the serving size. Everything is absolutely delicious. Ladies, this is where handsome, polite, hungry, southern gentlemen go!

Food was so good. Huge portions . Be prepared to stand in line , sides are good to try the red beans and rice

    Rubbery... totally not real "catfish"

Well, I heard so much about this place and it's "delicious" food. Ok, I picked up a plate for my hubby. (1) fish & side of Mac & cheese. The fish was cooked to order. It was MASSIVE!!! ((Threw up an eye brow for me)). The Mac & cheese looked delicious from the pan. I wanted to mainly try their cornbread, but was sold out. . Ok, so I get to my car and open the plate it smells delish. I did sneak a taste of the Mac & cheese. Nooooo! Bland and dry.... I was so disappointed. How do you mess up Mac & cheese!!!?? Ughhh. The fish was even MORE massive after frying it. I pinched some crumbs from the side.... Very flavorful, but extremely salty. I guess that's what people like from there, but seems very heart attack ish to me. Tooooo salty! . So my hubby ate around the fish anyways. It was very rubbery inside. This again proved that majority of so called foods we eat is totally fake / GMO crap! Anyhoo.... It didn't meet the bar what it was talked up to be. So yeah... there ya go! Nothing to scroll into on 2 wheels for sure. This was just not a good "soul food" or good "home cooking" food at all. Butttt.... Carry on for those who like it though.

Received burned food and they hung up in my face when I called about it. They also charged us $52 for four small plates that are advertised at ($6.99 each) and a shrimp on bun advertised at ($6.99). The shrimp is salty and it tastes like it's only seasoned with salt. The macaroni are overcooked and barely have cheese in them.

Triangle Deli was a recommendation from the front desk staff at our hotel. Triangle Deli specializes in lunch plates. They have a large kitchen that cooks Cajun and soul food. They also sell liquor, beer and fuel. We were very overwhelmed when we first got there and allowed several regulars to order before us. We got a load of items to take back to our hotel and share. Some of the favs of the order were the mac and cheese, corn, and stuffed bell pepper. The portion were amazing and the prices were great. Guys, it was THE BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH I'D EVER HAD. It was lava hot, juicy, and greasy. It was also absolutely delicious. I was concerned that the thigh meat was going to taste different. But I could not tell. The fries were crinkle cut, but were seasoned well. Didn't even need ketchup for them. The place is very clean and they had 80s music playing in the background, my favorite decade of music. Not surprising, being an 80s kid. The damage all told, including a tip, was $25. Is it expensive? Yes. Is the quality and quantity of the food commensurate to the price? Also yes. Is it worth the hype? ABSOLUTELY YES. I was also informed there's a Hammond location. I will definitely bring my family there, as it's closer, to try them out as well.

We were curious about and not many restaurants offer fresh made pork cracklings. Usually you have to buy it at a local market or know someone. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They briefly went over a few recommendations. We started with of course, order of adobo fresh pork cracklings. Adobo or traditional** crispy pork belly, adobo sauce, topped with garlic peanut rub Southerns Queso burger - 6 oz. beef patty*, pickled jalapeño, queso, beer battered onion ring with order of fries. Tender meal - Choose your spice level. 3 jumbo chicken tenders, fries, and tender sauce. (Mild) Southerns Original Chicken Sandwich - Choose your spice level. Boneless chicken thigh, Yuzu aioli, slaw, housemade pickle. (Mild) I was curious about the Phuket Sauce. So I got an order too. This tastes great! Not spicy at all. Do not let the pepper fool you. It has a little kick but not spicy at all. All are well seasoned. Few of them you can choose your spice level. We all washed down with fountain drinks. They do offer catering services and possibly call ahead ordering. Please reach out to them for options. If you are in the mood for something different but great food. Give them a try if in the area.

Though pop-up showers were still lingering, my husband and I decided to take a gamble on courtyard dining--and I am so glad we did! Sheltered under the green umbrellas surrounded by historic brick walls, lush greenery, and rain-kissed citrus trees, the atmosphere was incredibly romantic and peaceful. The courtyard's intimate layout even brought a bit of extra magic to our evening. We sat near another wonderful couple (and their adorable daughter) and became fast friends, sharing laughs and conversation throughout the night. What truly anchored the experience, though, was the incredible service. The staff was remarkably personable, helpful, and welcoming. The dinner itself was excellent from start to finish, showcasing immense culinary skill across every dish. We started with the delicious brussels sprouts and a uniquely seasoned spring/summer gumbo that was unlike any version we've had before (oh, what I would give for the recipe). As for the entrées, the shrimp and grits were phenomenal, and the blackened catfish sandwich with a fresh salad was executed flawlessly...and the bread pudding was fantastic, too! It is rare to find an experience where top-tier hospitality, a breathtaking environment, and great food come together so (seemingly) effortlessly. Café Amélie is an absolute must-visit! With it being so early and only one or 2 other tables besides my friend and me, the food did take longer to come out than I expected it to. Both of us did thoroughly enjoy what we got. The salmon was crispy on the outside with a nice sauce over it. We thought we'd have time to get dessert so we ordered a couple but that too took a very long time. We finally waved down our server to cancel and get the check since we had to be somewhere and he apologized and said their WiFi was going in and out so it could be that it was registering on the kitchen side. That may have explained why our entrees took too long. If it wasn't for the service and the food being great - I would not be thrilled about timing. We got there around 5:30p and had to leave by 7:15p so an almost 2 hours experience that probably could have been 1 hour.
