I honestly debated whether or not I should leave a review, but I feel if I don't tell my story of what I witnessed and what happened to me, I would not be doing a disservice. I was there right before I went to get my oil changed down the way. (This is important). well, I was waiting for my smog to be complete. There was a phone call and the desk guy was talking to the person and they were talking about how they had a oil leak ever since they left getting their Smog checked and the desk guy was like oh well it could be this or that just bring it in. on and on and on. Now mind you, I thought that very suspicious because the few times that I have been there they're always trying to get me to do something mechanical to my car that doesn't need to be done. Because I have my own mechanic. And I'm there for Smog only dude. after smog I went to get my oil changed down the way. A few days later I noticed puddles of oil in my garage and my My car only has 20,000 miles on it. so I took it back to the oil change place and told them the oil is leaking. What did you do ? So they investigated and investigated and they found something that could only be done "on purpose" to make the oil leak. something not even touched anywhere near changing my oil. I got pictures and I got proof that the Smog place tampered with my car to make the oil leak. There was something loosened that never works its way loose.! I'm only saying this because if you're trying to look up this smog place and you all of a sudden suspiciously got oil leaks after leaving there, be highly suspicious I can't prove it, but everything points too sabotage. specially after the person on the phone was calling about an oil leak after he left his smog check!!! and if you smog guys are reading this guess what ? there's gonna be a TV channel smog plant come in there and have you do their smog and they're gonna know if you tampered with their car because they're gonna check it within 30 minutes of leaving so be aware!! read more

Trident Auto Performance & Smog LLC in Valencia, CA, is an utterly deplorable shop that completely botched my A/C repair and left me stranded with a useless system. I paid a lot of money to them to fix my car's A/C, which was blowing warm air. I specifically told them to replace the receiver-drier, as every credible source says this is mandatory when the A/C system is opened to avoid moisture damage. Their technician agreed via text, but the owner called and brushed me off, claiming it wasn't needed unless major components were swapped a blatantly wrong statement that screams incompetence or penny-pinching. Just 17 days later, the A/C quit working again, in the middle of Summer. Another shop had previously flagged a possible leak, which Trident clearly ignored. When I texted them demanding a refund for their shoddy work, they went radio silent no response, no accountability. Their so-called 24-month/24,000-mile AAA warranty is a joke, as they vanished when I tried to hold them accountable. Trident offered a warranty but why would I trust a shop that disregards industry standards and ghosts customers? Now I'm stuck paying another shop to clean up Trident's mess, likely because they skipped the receiver-drier or missed the real issue. Their AAA certification is a sham, and their customer service is nonexistent. Avoid this place unless you want to throw money away on repairs that fail in weeks and deal with a shop that disappears when called out. I'm pursuing this further, possibly in small claims court, to get my money back. read more

My car has spent three years with its engine light either on, or temporarily off after a repair, while the car computer took a bizarrely long time (1000+ miles on multiple occasions) to decide that the drive cycle had been completed, where it would immediately switch the engine light back on. Over those three years, I've been to various mechanics that have diagnosed and replaced a variety of things, attempting to figure out what exactly was wrong. And while they may have been necessary steps on the way to my car's final recovery, none of those steps managed to persuade the engine light to stay off. In the last few days, as of writing this, the guys at Trident managed to finally get the last issues sorted out, smogged the car, and it passed, ending a three year long problem that has eaten plenty of time and sanity. Came in for a simple smog. Joe if that's his real name, failed the smog and attempted to repair the vehicle by stating it required a second cat converter wishing to charge a ridiculous fee.
