Once again Trillium Table has knocked it out of the park for all the things you're looking for in a restaurant. The ambiance is like walking into to your grandmothers dining room, filled with color and cozy atmosphere. They offer a rotating menu based on what is growing at the time you're there. The service is astounding and they make you feel like family. Which means that you probably aren't going to get the same thing twice and is so refreshing, you get to explore and experience different combos and flavors. Life is too short to not venture out on the different kind of foods there are. The cocktails are one of a kind and if you're a wine drinker, they've got you covers too. The appetizers are the perfect portion to share between two people. The salads are delicious, with a house made vinaigrette that is light and refreshing and don't even get me started on the rolls; those are their family's recipe and it shows. The star of dinner though, the filet mignon. This was hands down the best steak we've ever had and when you can cut it with a fork, you know it's going to be incredible. It was seasoned perfectly, lightly and paired with the black garlic butter made it mind blowing; add in the pomme purée and it was perfect. We honestly could eat that steak everyday for the rest of our lives and never get tired of it, it's that amazing. We finished off with both dessert choices. The coconut parfit, which is vegan and gluten free, is the perfect light and creamy dessert, and with the toasted pistachios in homemade syrup, adds a whole new flavor. The chocolate cake was hands down the best we've ever had; the bourbon glaze mixed with the chili adds a whole new flavor profile, but the most unexpected surprise was just how incredibly well the candied lime pairs with chocolate cake; the flavor is out of this world. The Red Rocker Inn was always our go-to place for dinner when in Black Mountain. Since we are in Black Mountain, we decided to go visit one of our favorite places. We learned that it was now called Trillium Table (now run by a different family) but in the same Red Rocker Inn location. So glad we did because WOW. The chef is fantastic and he is truly a chef....not just a cook. To start we had the homemade bread with the wonderful butter. Next, we had salad with a delightful vinaigrette but it had toasted sesame seeds that really made it special. Next, I had the chicken and my husband had the flatiron steak, mashed potatoes, and squash. None of these were your basics...no, they each had something very special added which amped up the flavors. We finished with bread pudding with ice cream and a small sample of the lemon cranberry pannacotta. Again, not just your basic but flavors that were incredible. The lady that helped us is the pastry chef and the mother of the chef. She was so kind and treated us so special. Hats off to the whole experience! it is a bit pricey but you get lots of food so worth it. Will definitely go again when we are back in Black Mountain. read more

Four of us went to Trillium Table last night and it was over the top starting with the intimate atmosphere and wonderful staff. Hannah and husband Chef Ewen have created a very special experience in the Red Rocker Inn. We started with the corn ribs appetizer, too unique to even describe but so delicious especially with the sauce. The homemade rolls with herbed butter were great. We ended up getting four different entrees, including the sweet and spicy chicken, the Thai basil pesto pasta, the Lions Mane mushroom entree and a very tasty NY Strip steak. Despite all the food, we shared a sticky toffee pudding for dessert. By far the best I've ever had. Could have eaten several more on my own. Our server, Maggie, is also the baker. We had some good conversation with her as well as Hannah. Definitely recommend it. It was our second time there. read more

My daughter and I had an absolutely beautiful meal and experience at Trillium Table tonight, celebrating her birthday. The service is unmatched, down to lovely details like a birthday card on the table signed by the entire staff. Our drinks, appetizers, entrees, and desserts were all out of this world. It is truly a fine dining experience at Trillium that is worth every penny. We will return as often as possible. read more

I went there today with my son the atmosphere was amazing Maggie our waitress was wonderful very knowledgeable. The food was amazing very tasteful we had the rims which was a special the ribs was tender falling off the. I highly recommend this restaurant anybody visiting Black mountain or anyone local to Black Mountain. read more
