I really like places that make and effort, not only to fix a previous issue, but also spend the time to explain to their patrons the inner workings of their business, that make them what they are. I had that opportunity this time around. On my first visit, they unfortunately did not have any decaf coffee, but this time around I was very happy to learn they sure did. Not only did they have, it was terrific, smooth, and did not loose its robust full flavor. While I was there, I learned the reason their teas are slightly higher than most places, is that their tea's are made from selected imported loose leaf varieties, instead of individual tea bags. The loose leaf leaf varieties provide much better developed flavors and consistency when used for other specialty drinks. It is important to note, that their prices are actually less than other places that serve loose leaf tea. I had the opportunity to try a few samples and they were excellent. Cute small tea shop. Lots of couches to lounge and sip. The cashier is informative and friendly. I ordered a Trinitea and a Thai tea and they were great! There is an option to sweeten your tea with honey or even half the amount of sugar. I appreciate having those kinds of choices. THANKS! At the register there are bottled beverages for purchase. I absolutely loved this place!!! Some friends and I that I hadn't seen in years wanted to reunite in a relaxing environment to chat and it definitely exceeded our expectations. I called ahead of time and reserved their "study room" which is available for advance reservation if you have 3+ people in your party. The actual room itself consists of a large table and 10 chairs. At 7:30p we were the only ones around. I saw a few more trickle in later, but not much traffic. Could be because it's Monday. They offered us samples of their jasmine milk tea and house trinitea, which I fancied. I ordered one hot, size small...soooo good -- you gotta try it! The size is pretty big for a small too. Beats Starbucks "tall" by far. Their pastry selection was a bit lacking, but I'm guessing it's because we came in the evening. If this place sold even cold sandwiches or something I bet it would boost business. They have 6 comfy leather chairs for you to fight over, and some not so comfy wooden ones, but did I say they have 6 comfy leather chairs? :) I got distracted taking discreet photos that I forgot to ask for 10% off after checking in. There will definitely be a next time though because I'll be back. The service was sooooo superb and the person helping us was very knowledgable about the teas and had a smile when serving from start to finish...even after we lost track of time while in the study room and ended up staying passed closing and getting booted. You really can't be mad at a boot with a smile! We hope the tip made up for it. I'm praying that God blesses this place with lots of well deserved business even if it means I may eventually need to find a new spot. Parking spots are a little tight, but not too bad. Mixed emotions about this place... I guess my expectations were high bc of the reviews... There's plenty of tables and chairs, and the separate room you can "reserve" is pretty cool. The place was also pretty clean.. But it didn't have that cozy feel to it. And their was this mild scent of cleaner or bleach in the air.. We went here earlier today (Sunday early afternoon), it was a rare super rainy day, so that may have affected my desire for a warm environment... Anyways, our group ordered several different drinks. I kept its simple with a Thai iced tea with boba. So I do get boba every once in a while, but I'm definitely not an expert... So to me, while it tasted good, it also tasted pretty average. I couldn't taste anything that would set it apart. My kid got a vanilla blended drink which I tasted and have the same opinion. Good, but nothing I can tell that sets it apart. I was also disappointed at the pastry display that was pretty limited. On appearance, it didn't seem too Fresh either. I have a definite sweet tooth, and nothing caught my attention. I was also hoping for macarons, which were not there. Service was okay, straightforward and quick. Not necessarily welcoming or friendly though... I like that this place is spacious, and has plenty of tables... I wish I was more dazzled by the drinks though.. Wanting some bubble tea in the morning is hard since most places in SD don't open until 11am but since this place.caters to students, they are open 8/9am. Okay I have officially become addicted to the Moroccan Mint Tea extra hot no Boba with honey not sugar. Every freaking time I come here I attempt to try something new. I tell myself if will and I put the thought into my head that I need to venture out and experiance new tea flavors. I walk in to the familiar smell of the coffee beans mixed with the lovely loose leaf tea (I almost look forward to the smell just as much as I do the tea now) & order the same drink every time. The only aspect of this place that sometimes I wish would get a bit better is the food. I got macaroons last time and they just seemed a little old like they were crunchy and I have had them other placed where they don't have a crunch factor and I think I tend to favor the non crunchy better. They have a quiet study room which is nice. They also have a table and chairs set up out front with water bowls for kujo, but the chair leg was broken last time and my friend almost fell out of the chair (hillarious for me not so much for them) hope they get it fixed soon! Boba boba boba! Finally a place in the neighborhood with boba. Their space inside is far roomier than it looks from the outside in this little strip mall. Best of all-- there's a free room for groups to use. I'm not sure if it's first come first served or if you sign up for it. (Of course, it goes without saying that your group ought to buy some drinks and food). They serve, of course, all kinds of milk teas, as well as coffee and coffee-shake drinks, and BOBA. And they have a lot of pastries-- little cheesecakes, macarons-- better than the standard chain coffee house fare. I had a soy latte. The soy milk had clumped-- not harmful, but aesthetically displeasing-- gotta shake it up or open a new carton. And the guy forgot my boba but he found me and put it in. The only thing that is keeping this from a 1 star is the kind service we received. Other than that the quality of the drinks fall in the category of lazy at best. To start, the boba was very hard... As if the drink had been left in the fridge over night. The milk tea's flavor was watered down and the flavor was comparable to an amateurs first attempt. The slush was pretty good but a bit overly sweet and the jelly/crystal boba wasn't bad. In all my boba experience, I have never been served old boba before. Some serious overhaul is needed if this place wants to compete against the more notable spots in Kearny. I won't be returning unless it's for someone else. read more

If you have autoimmune dietary (AIP) restrictions, I recommend ordering this drink: Peppermint Tea with coconut milk and quarter honey. I always get it with double boba as well. This has no dairy, the honey replaces the sweetener they would normally use. Adjust as you'd like, but the ingredients all work well for me. My wife and I have been to Trinitea five times. Each time we've been helped by the barista with blue hair. She's friendly, professional and fast. She's always wearing a mask. If there are other customers waiting for their order, there is plenty of room to keep your distance while you wait for yours too. That one was too watery. I tasted a few sips when I ordered it and didn't like it. The barista happily made me something else. Also, we love the crystal boba. It's the tastiest boba we've ever had and its texture is amazing. Since moving here a year ago my wife and I have been searching for a boba spot as good as the one we left behind. 096 / 100 - 2016 YELP 100 CHALLENGE. For the past two weeks I've been craving boba. No real idea why, I just have. So I decided to grab some boba on the way back to work, after making a quick stop at Sharp! Trinitea Tea was easy to find, but I was nervous as the plaza it's located in is quite small - I was scared the parking would be terrible. You can imagine my (pleasant) surprise when there was actually quite a bit of parking around. Wahoo! The cafe itself is pretty roomy, with plenty of tables and seats around. There wasn't a line so I didn't have to worry about getting in anyone's way while trying to figure out what to order. I ended up getting my co-worker a large lychee ice slush with boba while I got myself a large taro milk tea (iced). The girl at the register was very nice and answered any questions I might have had (difference between an ice slush, etc.). The drinks didn't take very long to get made (5 minutes, tops) and then I was on my way! The taro milk tea was pretty much everything I had wanted and more. I had the entire thing done within 10minutes LOL. It wasn't overly sweet which was nice. There are some places where you can taste the powder, but this was definitely not one of those places. Everything was blended well. The boba was also fresh and warm, which added a great contrast. My co-worker really liked her lychee ice slush, but thought the boba was a little overcooked and too chewy. I personally like my boba chewy, so I didn't mind or notice at all. Trinitea does offer food (wings, fries, and even honey toast) so I'll have to try that the next time I'm here. Overall a great hit! read more

The tea is great and they don't make it too sweet like others tend to do. The mango green tea tastes like fresh mango juice rather than a mango syrup. The boba had a good flavor and texture.
