I've been several times, and this is such a great place to meet friends or take out-of-town guests. You can't beat the view, the food is phenomenal, the drinks are strong, the desserts are good (and soup is, too!) They were even polite to my very drunk parent. We came here to celebrate a birthday and a 10 wedding anniversary. Originally we had reservations at a different restaurant but after reading the menu we changed our mind. We are so happy we did. The staff was amazing! Brooke seated us prepped our table we asked her several questions and although she was not our server she was very helpful. Amber who was our server did a fantastic job. She was incredibly engaged with our table throughout our entire meal. The entrees were delicious especially the trout and Prime Rib. Several times throughout our meal the manager Bri checked in to ensure that our dining experience was great. Thank you to the staff at Trinity for making our special evening incredible! Usually have Trinity a couple times each summer, and it seems to get worse every time. Waitress was slow, inattentive and unfriendly. Chimichurri burger was completely missing chimichurri, and fries weren't good either. The pulled pork nachos were an embarrassment, I wish I had taken a picture to show the complete lack of pork and cheese. It was basically warm tortilla chips, with a cheesy bite thrown in on one out of every 3 chips, and 2oz of pork spread sparingly across the plate. Unlikely to return, and DO NOT get the pork nachos. read more

Great food, good service and the best outdoor dining in all of Sandpoint! I have been coming here for years and they are always consistent and extremely accommodating. Right now it is obvious that all the places in town are having a hard time getting enough staff, Trinity seems to be handling this just as would be expected by a professionally run establishment. Is it obvious that they are short staffed? Yes! Welcome to post pandemic dining... but, it didn't change the quality of my meal or our dining experience... If anything, I got to enjoy the view of the lake a little bit longer. Bottom line - 10/10 Would recommend! read more

First I want to say the service was great. Our waitress was very attentive. With so many great reviews I thought the food would be better. My dad ordered the fish and chips. They were obviously frozen. They had a very mushy texture and no flavor. My dad is 98 with dementia so he didn't really notice or care. My wife had the pulled pork nachos. They had good flavor but the topping to chip ratio was too low. Way too many chips. I had the New York Strip steak. It was actually cooked well and very tender but lacked flavor. It needed better/some seasoning. They covered it with a kind of garlic sauce/gravy. It was okay, and really the only flavor the steak had. Overall, great service and poor to fair food. read more

We've been twice and it's our new favorite place in Sandpoint!!! We have ones that need to avoid gluten, dairy, others that avoid meat, ones that love meat/dairy/gluten. So needless to say eating out can be difficult. But trinity fits the hill for all of us. Super fresh food. The quinoa bowl is to-die-for!!!! And when it's gorgeous weather you must sit outside! Always my go-to with visitors (amazing views of the mountains and lake) as well as my "don't want to cook Monday night" or lunch with friends. A large group had reservations for lunch to celebrate a friend's 60th birthday. When we arrived the restaurant was closed because of a faulty dishwasher. We mentioned that we were this large party and the personnel immediately told us that they WERE definitely going to serve our group, but ONLY our group. We were well taken care of; the food, the drinks and the service was outstanding! We can't thank Trinity enough for accommodating our group for such a special occasion! read more

Excellent meal tonight. We had the crab cakes, trout and salmon. All amazing and so flavorful. Tiramisu and chocolate molten cake for dessert- we rolled out but so worth it! Stomachs full as heck but excited for the leftovers tomorrow. Great place! The views are what make this place. It's located in the Best Western Hotel. The back patio of the restaurant faces city beach at the lake. The staff was pleasant and provided good service. The Haz Dazzle is a refreshing drink featuring huckleberry which grows only in ID and MT. It had way to much mint in it but was very good once I removed the mint leaves. The pork enchiladas were excellent. The fish tacos were good. I loved how the fish was cut into smaller sized pieces instead of just a big hunk of fish. Overall a great experience. read more

We ate here while on a long motorcycle trip. We spend two days in Sandpoint and ate here twice. Both times the food was really good and the outdoor seating made it very nice. We had a variety of different food and really enjoyed the beer selection. This was a very nice restaurant an one I would recommend to anyone. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. Fine for families and romantic occasions. The patio affords beautiful scenery Thursday evening we had a singer/guitarist and a fiddler entertaining us. We really enjoyed this place. The food was great and the service was too. And the view was lovely. I had the chicken pesto tortellini. It was amazing. The portion size was large and I took half home. My husband and I had an incredible experience here! I called to make a same day dinner reservation (mid October). Over the phone I asked for the best patio seats! And wow they delivered. We had a beautiful front row view from our table and the heaters on the patio made for a very comfortable dining experience. I got the special which was a red meat in wine sauce, mashed potatoes and broccolini. Every single bite was phenomenal. My husband got the trout gore and enjoyed every bite. To wrap up the meal we got the wild Canadian blueberry crumble a la mode. SO yummy! All the staff was so helpful, kind and genuine. It was a relaxing and peaceful experience. The crawfish chowder is an amazing blend of earthy spice, a little heat with some sweetness from the crawfish and sweet peppers. The lobster ravioli were amazing. Lots a lobster. A subtle cream sauce that was the perfect compliment to the sweetness of the lobster. The pulled pork enchiladas were a huge surprise. Light and flavorful dough, enveloping tender pork, surrounded by the most amazing mole you've ever had. This is a fusion dish... enchilada, soapapilla, flauta. Pure delics. Chef Thane really gets the delicacy of flavors and ingredients. Long and short. Amazing service. You know you are gonna have a special experience when the staff can't stop talking about how inspirational the owner of the establishment is.... and it's true. He was bussing tables. Serving food. Always a great restaurant to bring visiting friends from out of town to as it is right downtown and has beautiful lake views. Plus they have real Hatch Green Chile from New Mexico and it goes great on the Burgers. Trinity will always be part of my local restaurant rotation. Yum!!! read more

Covid time review: Had dinner with friends at Trinity at City Beach in Sandpoint after a day of spring skiing. We had no problem getting a table for 4 despite calling last-minute. The restaurant is conveniently located and has a wonderful view of Lake Pend d'Oreille. The dining room is spacious and can accommodate larger parties. All of the staff were wearing masks and they made hand sanitizer available at the front door. There were signs up asking patrons to wear masks while not seated. Our server was very friendly, attentive, and gave great recommendations. The menu (both dinner and lounge menu items were available on a Sunday night) is on the extensive side. We had Portuguese clams ($16) and poutine (sans pork) appetizers to share. The poutine is just what you'd want--the fries crispy, gravy savory, and curds melty. The sauce on the clams was sooo good, we asked for extra bread after the clams were all gobbled to soak it up. For entrees, the four of us had the 10 oz prime rib ($27), the trout dore ($22), the scallops ($29), and crab cakes ($19.50)/spring mix salad ($10). We all enjoyed our meals. The prime rib was memorable. It had the ideal amount of fat streaking and was very flavorful and tender cooked to medium. I ate it dipped in au jus and with the mashed potato and asparagus sides. The trout was also a crowd pleaser; the accompanying tomato-based sauce was really nice. Our friend ordered the spring mix salad expecting an appetizer size but it was definitely an entree portion, especially given the price. Wine list was also extensive and with options for different price points. Ended the meal with a slice of cheesecake with berry sauce. Overall, would recommend Trinity for a splurgy night out in Sandpoint--the view is hard to beat, the ingredients are fresh, the service befitting the bill, and the food elevated but unpretentious. read more
