Totally overpriced( actually sent me two different quotes for two different prices on the same day. I think they just make up prices as they go!) totally inconsistent information. I used him a month ago. They not only overcharge me beyond what they estimated they were over double that and said they had to do a bunch of extra work that I did not authorize! I actually met the owner at my site because of the inconsistencies and he continued to give me inconsistent information beyond what his technician gave me so I have no trust in these people at all and I will never use them again. Our septic tank alarm went off in the middle of the night and I appreciate Jack for sending someone out to the house early the next day. Nothing was wrong with the tank, although the very nice repairman said he tightened something in case that set off the alarm. I was charged $660 for 40 minutes of work... not the $165/hour I was told that included an inspection. The tank didn't need any service or cleaning whatsoever so the most upsetting part was when he said he should've cleaned the tank anyways so he could've charged me $2000. He was boasting that he was trying to save me money. Jack also failed to tell me upfront that he would be including 2 hours of drive time (which doesn't add up for Pleasanton to Walnut Creek) for their "big truck" and a minimum charge of 4 hours. read more

Jack, the owner, was very pleasant and professional over the phone. The price quoted was reasonable. The driver came on time and the service was smooth without glitches. Maybe you're wondering, how can a liquid waste service company really be all that amazing? First, the owner was super responsive with questions, a quote, and scheduled us for the very next day. Then, the technician that came (Kevin) was amazingly helpful both at cleaning out ejector pump, digging out our septic tank, and explaining how our system worked (bc we had no idea.) And THEN, he figured out one of our ejector pumps was disconnected, fixed it himself, figured out a motor was broken, went down and pulled a small piece of clothing out of the motor (!) thereby saving us thousands of dollars of repair, and sprayed everything down. On top of all that, he kept everything nice and clean, even though he had to dig out the septic tank (he put the dirt on some garbage bags) and sprayed down the whole ejector pump system! This is hopefully my final update on my dealings with Trinity. They feel I made false statements in my very unfavorable review. A standard service costs around $600, and I was shocked that the bill came in at over 4 times that amount. At the end of the day, the bill was largely justified because there was a very large accumulation of solid material (my fault for not adhering to a standard service schedule) and there was about a 15 foot rise from the backyard to the truck. The big problem was that nobody from the company bothered to talk with me beforehand about what the bill was going to be. Much like going to a mechanic expecting a $200 repair and winding up with a $1000 bill. Even if the higher price was justified because the job was more complex than originally expected, for the mechanic not to call the customer prior to beginning the job and simply proceeding is unacceptable. They claim they informed me, but this is simply not true. Then they chided me for giving Jose a bad review after he worked so hard. You will note that I had nothing but praise for Jose. Not knowing what the follow-up service was going to cost, I sent Trinity a email requesting an estimate. They did not get back to me for at least 10 days. Why? They were "too busy". Too busy to send an estimate that would take 10 minutes at most to complete. About as lame an excuse as one could imagine. When I told them their communication was very poor in my case, the response I received was that I was an unhappy person chronically dissatisfied with everything and everyone. They did not charge me for their psychiatric opinion, I am pleased to say. On the positive side, the work was satisfactory and the price was justified, more or less. Ultimately they made an estimate of $600 for part two of the job. This figure came in long after I had already arranged for a second company to complete part two of the job. Of note, they bad mouthed the second company on the assumption that the second company criticized their charges. In fact, the second company said nothing about Trinity. So the work was acceptable and the price was fair. In every other respect they fell far short of professional standards and wound up attacking me personally. About as inappropriate as it gets. read more

I have two different septic systems on my property in San Jose and Trinity Liquid Waste Services came over to pump out the systems and treat the leach fields. Trinity provided me with an estimate and then showed up on time to do the work. It took a little bit to find one of the systems as it hadn't been opened since the late 90s most likely. Trinity let me know services I would need coming up in the next few years and what I could expect. One of the systems is really old and will likely need to be replaced but Trinity didn't push for a replacement just yet, they simply warned me that it would need attention in the next 4-5 years. I appreciated the attention to detail, the honest and straightforward attitude and work. I just called in on a Saturday because I could not find any information about the septic system on a new property, and there was some puddling on one of the leach fields. I called Trinity to see if they could come out to help me, honestly mostly to show me around my septic system, since I didn't know whether the tank was full or how to start draining to the other leach field. After I told him that the tank had been pumped just over one year ago, Jack suggested that I start by texting pictures of the system to him, after which he called me back and explained to me what each of the components was and how to switch to drain to the other leach field. I struggled to find a competent company to assess my septic system in a home I'd inherited. Regular plumbers seem to know little about the systems or who to call, and other highly rated septic services I spoke with were servicing other areas. I finally had one company come out that seemed a bit more knowledgeable, but all they did was poke a shovel to locate the septic, ran a snake to clear some roots, then left dejected and charged me $500. They didn't even leave me a proper marker for where they dug or provide me with a follow-up estimate. I found Jack at Trinity Liquid Waste through an ad. After talking with him, I sensed he knew what he was doing and was told he had many years of experience working in his family business before going out on his own. Still gun-shy, I asked for several references and after speaking with them I was convinced he'd passed with flying colors. Jack then gave me a detailed estimate of what it would potentially cost to dig down to the tank, uncover it, pump the waste and visually inspect the interior and test the Leach field. He came out ready to tackle the job, located and pumped the tank and tested the systems, then gave the assessment that the blockage problem was due to one enormous root ball blocking the tank entrance that needed to be removed and all else was basically sound and good to go. The final bill was around $800 less than the estimate, he was great to work with, and I learned how the system operated and what to expect going forward, as well as when it would need future routine service. The entire process struck me as realistic, competent and fair, and was an enormous relief. One thing he said to me was "I like to help people". I believe that to be true. read more

Jack is a great guy! As a recent homeowner I had no idea what type of waste disposal setup the property had. Jack was able to schedule his visit for 4 days after I called (amazing given how busy he is!) and completed the inspection and pumping in 2 hours (sadly that means I had to go into work that day). But I was thrilled that he discovered how the system operated and suggested the correct way to fix the problem he discovered (obstruction in pipe, & rerouting of other pipes). He was able to give us a very clear, line by line estimate for services over the phone and his prices were fair. He is an excellent listener; grounded, patient, and kind, and gave generously of his time and expertise answering all my questions.
