Stumbled on to this bar on Sullivan St in the West Village on our last day in New York. What a treat. The owner runs the bar and is straight from Ireland What a delight she was. She could not have made us feel more welcome if we were Kin. No food but there was a nice little Mexican restaurant next door and Triona let's you get take out and come back so we spent the afternoon talking eating drinking and story telling with her and had one of our best days in NY. Great neighborhood sports bar, especially if your team isn't playing and you want to watch everything at once--they show it all. Game audio is on though I'm not sure how they select (no Giants today but the jets were playing and colts audio was on). Animated crowd, friendly bartenders, cheap drinks (happy hour 1-8 weekdays). No kitchen so outside food is welcomed and allowed. Perfect place when you wanna leave your couch, but feel like you haven't! read more

If I had a sports bar it would be just like this one! A bit of a dive decorated with sports flags and funny posters. Lots of TVs and little nooks to watch your game including a nice spacious room with a pool table. It has a neighborhood bar feel and very friendly neighbors. If you are hoping to have an enjoyable Sunday watching the NFL games - avoid this bar at all costs. Came here in early December, hoping to watch one of the marquee NFL matchups (Vikings vs Falcons), and the bartender ("Shawtae", working on Dec 3rd at 2:30pm) insisted that they show the 49ers vs Bears on 80% of the TV screens. When asked if we could switch one of the ignored corner TVs to our game of interest, Shawtae informed us that game was needed for Bears vs 49ers as well. Somehow - on a day where the bar was at 20% capacity - nearly all of the TVs needed to be dedicated to a game between two of the worst teams in the league playing in a meaningless game. Avoid at all costs if you are a football fan. read more

Probably our best bar experience in NYC. We don't "do" pretentious upscale bars, so this place fit us well. I definitely wouldn't consider it "divey" at all, just maybe a little "seasoned" and what you expect of "going to the bar." The bartenders were attentive with the large crowd (NHL playoffs were on and Chicago fans were hoarding the bar) and very quick...but the drink prices were very fair compared to what I expected in an NYC bar. read more

Lots of fun, especially with beer pong and silly top 40 songs. Variety of beers by the pitcher, for a good price. Many other bars in the area, but this one catches your attention. I would go here everyday if I lived closer. read more

Our bartenders name was Triona, not sure if it was a coincidence/ if she was the owner/ or maybe that wasn't even her name and i was just too drunk and now can't remember her real name (oops). Whatever the case- she's super friendly and was immediately there to whip up whatever drink we wanted. For some reason that night all we had were irish car bombs and mind erasers. Needless to say- i don't remember much of the night, but from what I do remember is: Prices are decently cheap for the area, service is great, and I'd definitely stop by if I was in the area again! read more

This no frills bar is a gem! They have awesome happy hour drink special like half-price on all drinks from 1PM-8PM Monday - Friday! They do not serve food but there are plenty of restaurants nearby that offer take-out. Want to watch a game? They have lots of television screens. Definitely my go-to bar when I want to let loose and unwind without having to make a fashion statement and maxing out my credit card. read more

The bar is good but pretty divey and doesn't smell the best... there is beer pong, pool, and darts which makes it a good spot. Pitchers of bud light are $10 which is nice and cheap. We came here during the day on a Saturday to watch the Syracuse game and it was pretty empty. The crowd was older during the day but we had our own flat screen in the back which was nice. Not a place I would rush back to but overall it did the job. read more

you can bring in your own food. it's a chicago bar (awesome) and plays the bears games during football season. you can ask them to put on any other sports games and they will kindly listen to and (knock on wood) oblige the request. the bartenders are so friendly and lovely. it's a typical sports bar but you always receive friendly service. there are a 4-5 tv's in the main room and a small room with pool table and 2 more sets + golden tee. read more

Laid back atmosphere at this Irish oriented sports bar in the center of the NYU Bleecker MacDougal buckwildness. Pretty solid draft beer selection including the standard domestics, Guinness, as well as a few unknowns (Alexander Keith's Brown Ale from Nova Scotia) in the 4-6 dollar range. The bartender was from the emerald isle and thus knowledgeable about Champions League. Will come back especially if a match is on. read more

Great sports bar. Triona and Mike are both friendly and down to earth people. The bar has access to virtually every football and baseball game that is broadcast on television. I'm not sure exactly what access they have to other sports, but the bar advertises their subscription to a variety of sports channel packages. Drinks are reasonably priced (especially beer), and the place isn't filled with tourists like the bars on Bleeker Street are. The only con I've noticed since I started going there in May is the lack of food. When I drink, I get hungry sometimes, although there are tons of places nearby to eat. Triona's specializes in the satisfying of only one craving, and they do it pretty well! Oh, and Ryan D. doesn't know what he's talking about, so make sure to ignore his review! Overall, pretty good place. My girlfriend is a big fan and both of us are happy to have made Triona's our neighborhood hang out. read more

Horrible customer service. Went to have a few drinks for my brothers birthday. The place was empty on a Saturday night (no big deal). This Irish heavy set bartender with craters on his face was not personable at all. Didn't even offer us any birthday shots. Spent $200 and wasn't even offered a free round or nothing. Then he had the nerve to complain about a tip. Seems like a cool place but bad experience and will never go there again. read more
