My son is 5.5 yrs old and has been asking about learning how to play basketball. I signed him up and he has so much fun. He immediately asks to go back to class the next day. We love Coach Sid! My 12 year old son has been attending triple threat classes for a few years and this is our first time at the San Ramon location. Coach Sid and his assistant coaches do a great job of corralling and coaching the kids and getting them to focus on the fundamentals and have fun. My son's skills and confidence on the court have continuously improved. The coaches have a great way of encouraging the kids and getting them to refocus if they get a little distracted, while also pushing them to be and do their best. Ive tried a lot of sports programs for my little one and so far this is the most organized program. The coaches actually have a passion for kids. You can tell! They are dedicated to making sure the kids have fun and learn basketball techniques. Special shot out to Coach Austin. My son loves his class. He is very patient and kind with the children. Last night was the second time for my son to attend the class. I was not there for the first time class but I was there last night. For the first 50 minutes of a one-hour class, the coach only allowed my son to attend the class for about 20 minutes. He said my son did not follow the instruction and punished my son sitting aside. I didn't see anything wrong with my kid and tried to argue with him. He sent me outside the classroom and then immediately yelled to me as "look at your f*ing kid". I felt frightened and threatened. I never thought a basketball class could be as bad as this. The coach also spent long time on the floor and did sth like meditation without teaching. I felt very upset for my horrible experience. This is a great place for kids to have fun and to learn basketball and to improve their skills. Great coaches, they are professional and very patient with the children. Children can get proper training with their drills and also have fun with their mini games. Learning basketball is new to my kid, but coaches there make it easier and fun for my kid to learn and build up his skills step by step. The coaches did a great job of constantly motivate and encourage the young players, you can tell their passion of teaching and playing basketball. In class, children are putting their best effort of learning/playing, and at home, I have found my kid going out and practicing what he has learned that week. Triple threat is one of the best BB coaching organisation that I have ever come across. They have the highest integrity and they are not greedy like some others i have experienced. After corona-virus and when everything had to be shut down, coach Tony was very informative and professional in his handling of everything. Recently he send us a video of how they are planning on reopening with all the necessary precautions in place. They are applying credits from previous sessions without any fuss. To me it shows that they are not in this just for money but they also have very high ethics. I will recommend them to anyone who is looking to get their kids trained in Basketball. read more

My sons just completed 10 week sessions with TTA and it was a good experience, but there was room for improvement. Our boys are 7 and 6-years-old. I really appreciate the skills that they are teaching, but their teaching strategies aren't the best for kids with minimal experience at this age. I know it's tough to give every kid the attention/1-on-1 time that they need in a big group session, but I see way too much showing a drill with multiple steps only once or twice, then coaches just telling kids the corrections without showing them once they are practicing independently. Working with elementary school kids you literally have to guide their hands and feet into the positions you want them in and teach them one step at a time early on. At this age the kids haven't developed the coordination to execute the multiple step drills with precision. I do like the fact that they do teach and repeat the same skills week to week and my sons have grown a lot. I would love to see and hear more positive encouragement as well. At this age I want my kids to develop a love and respect for sports and their coaches and I think that comes with a good mix of firm correction and positive praise. Everyone has their own coaching philosophy, but I think kids need a good mix of both with a pretty regular dose of the praise. I want to thank the staff for their efforts and I hope my feedback is received in the positive way it is intended. read more

If your child is new to basketball, a little unsure, or shy, this is NOT the place to send them. Most of the coaches are friendly, supportive and know their stuff. However, it is the other kids who are the problem. There are a number of bullies and aggressive children who boo other kids. It's too loud for the coaches to notice so they do not call them out on it. I noticed attendance dropped midway and I saw some moms staying to see what was going on. I assume it is because they're wondering what's happening. My husband and I stuck around to figure out why our son was not enjoying the experience. If Triple Threat Academy reads this review, my constructive feedback would be to take 10 to 15 minutes at the beginning of each camp/program to talk about the importance of sportsmanship and supporting your teammates. Perhaps adopt a zero tolerance policy for bullying and insulting other children. It's unfortunate that you have to make up for the parents' lack of teaching these basics, but it will benefit your business because parents of the kids who don't fit the jock stereotype will be more likely to send their kids to your academy. I would more accurately rate this 2.5 stars, but Yelp won't let me do half stars. My son rated his experience 4/10 on the first day, then upgraded it to 5/10 on the third day. read more

Absolutely amazing experience!! The kids are learning key fundamentals....skills that they don't typically learn at a young age. This is the best league for rigor, discipline, and learning fantastic skills. It was highly recommended to us and we have highly recommended it to other families. Good at teaching basic skills. Awful attitude towards kids with the exception of one coach Isaiah. Feedback is negative- "You are horrible," "that is horrible," "what is wrong with you." In addition, horrible non-verbal communication shaking of head. My observation is most of the kids are scared and fearful of screwing up because if you screw up the coaches go out of their way to humiliate the kids. Abusive. 3 kids dropped out after first class because of abuse. read more

We are now in our second session with TTA training. I absolutely love how the coaches are all professional and dedicated to the kids in learning PROPER basketball techniques. My seven and six year old son love basketball so we got advised about this great training center. Have been in a class for the last two years. These classes are intense at times but well worth the money. I know the coaches know what they're doing and they care. I was a little worried at first about the intensity but my sons have really gotten tougher and more mature by this experience. I have and will suggest this to other parents. I was able to coach both of my sons in a junior warriors league and I mentioned to many players. Great way for your son or daughter to improve their skills. High recommendation. read more

Really good program. The head coach(es) were no-nonsense and expected the best from the kids. The office staff provided personal service and prompt replies, and were flexible. The only reason I didn't put all 5 stars is because from week to week the coaching staff wasn't always the same, and the very last day was an entirely different coach. They were all good, but consistency is nice, esp. when we were so impressed with the main head coach guy. read more

I've been taking my daughter to TTA on and off for a year and a half. I love the coaches, they are patient, sharp, and it's clear they have a plan they follow each training session. It's not willy nilly, you don't feel as if you're wasting your time or money because they know what they're doing and I've seen a huge improvement each time my daughter goes. We just finished winter session and about to start spring. We look forward to going and each training is class is small enough the coaches are able to give the time and attention necessary for each student. this summer was our first experience with TTA and I was extremely impressed. my son attended 3 camps (total skills, all sport & dribbling & shooting) and loved them all. the coaches, ryan, antoine, mike, JT, isiah & don were all legit basketball coaches. i was hesitant before our first week because i wasn't sure if the coaches were going to be high school or college kids just working with these kids for the summer. not the case here. thank god. all the coaches were so good with the kids, not only teaching them basketball fundamentals, but also teaching them about sportsmanship, team work, hustle & having an overall good attitude. all of which i don't think other programs focus on. my son had SO much fun and is already begging me to sign him up for summer camps next year! if schedule permits, i won't hesitate in signing him up for the weekly workshops. thank you to coach RYAN, ANTOINE & MIKE for being amazingly fun and motivational coaches!!!! read more
