Dennis from Haverhill I have told every person that ever mentions the word "Pizza" about Tripoli Pizza. When I was a kid in Haverhill I use to eat "Al's Pizza" up on route 125 NH. But Al's is gone and thank God for Tripoli. The word "Crave" is the best word to use about how I feel about Triploi. It's the sause people. One bite and your hooked! Every time we go home, going to Triploi is a must. It's like a religion to us. We buy 8 slices to take home and I don't know how it happens but those 8 slices have disappeared before we get there!! BEST PIZZA EVER. I don't care what anyone else says about it...I have heard the complaints about the lack of cheese, the pricing, the "spaghetti-Oh's" flavored sauce, the rudeness of the employees, that its just a "nostalgia" thing, etc, etc... It is PERFECTION in its simplicity...the sweet, delicate tomato sauce (I don't care if it came straight out of a can-tastes great to me and millions of other loyal fans), crisp and thin crust that the copycat wannabes just can't get right, and a light sprinkling of cheese as it should be. Thank GOD they are open year round so I don't have to wait out winter for my box of 8. I love too that they have the shakers readily available on the counter so I can load on the hots and the garlic powder even if the garlic blows all over the place due to the sea breeze. There is only a few things that come to mind when i think of Salisbury Beach and on top of that list at number one is Tripoli Pizza! Tripoli Pizza is the toast of Salisbury Beach! it is the first thing i think of when i come here, and the last thing on my mind when i leave. I have had some great pizza in my life but nothing comes close to the magic they create in that little pizza shop down the beach. The pizza itself is old style, square, thin, crisp crust, baked to perfection but the real sell here is the sauce. I think that everyone who loves Tripoli Pizza will agree- they come here because the pizza sauce is like none other. Its sweet and tangy without being over bearing. Some call Cristy's Pizza "Beach Pizza" however I think Tripoli's is the best beach pizza, better than it's competitor Cristy's and should therefore deserve the highly coveted "Beach Pizza" name. There are several locations to grab a slice of this super delicious pizza. There are two locations by the beach. One in Salisbury and the other in Seabrook near Markey's Lobster Pound. I love their pizza for a few reasons. Its a thin crust square cut pizza. The sauce is to die for. Its sweet but not overpoweringly so. I usually buy their pizza by the slice if i'm on my way home from the beach and i want a quick bite to eat. You MUST ask for extra cheese. Asking for extra cheese gets you a whole slice of provolone melted on top. MMM MMM good. Growing up we always used to get sub rolls and cookies at the Lawerence location. I'm a huge fan of their baked breads. We've always gotten fresh out of the oven rolls. The car ride home is almost unbearable because the car fills up with the wonderful smells of freshly baked bread. It makes me wanna dive right into it! So seeing that there are at least 3 locations (that i know of) to get your tripoli fix you must try it out if you're in the areas of Salisbury, Seabrook or Lawerence. read more

Now, Tripoli's would be a 3 MAYBE a 4 star rating if Cristy's wasn't right next door. I have to tip the scales as much as I can for the rating system here as Cristy's is the superior Beach Pizza and all that come out for this rare delicacy should be steered to the correct place! That is not pizza. It is hard crunchy bread with very sweet sauce and a laughable small amount of cheese, and the pepperoni is not cooked. If you are use to buffalo style, or New York style, I would stay away. Definitely not pizza. If I brought this back to Buffalo, I will be laughed at and ridiculed for probably the rest of my life. I love TRIPOLI'S!! I'm going to copy the review I wrote for the Lawrence location, because I also always need to get a slice or two when visiting Salisbury beach. This pizza is amazing and unlike anything I've ever had. The slices are square, the crust is crispy, the sauce is sweet, and the mozzarella is sparse. Order it with a slice of provolone, which they will put on at the last minute to make it just a little bit melty, and sprinkle on some red pepper flakes to get that spicy/sweet thing going on. UHMazing. Tripoli's is a big treat for me because I'm from out of state and there's nothing else like it. My local friends also love it an have been going there since they were kids, so luckily they are always down for getting a few slices when I come to visit. They introduced me to "beach pizza" and Tripoli's is now a required Salisbury beach tradition for me too! read more

This is a review of their sweets only! Me and my better half got some cannolis and brownies + cheese cake from them a week ago or so and wanted to surprise our friends by bringing them a nice treat. Well, the pastries looked appetizing, but that was it. Tasted very bland and we've kind of bad to an extent were we were wondering if those pastries were even fresh. It took the lady a few minutes to get them from the back of the shop, so hopefully she wasn't defrosting them or something, but anyway, our $35 we've spent on 4 cannolis and 4 pieces of cake went straight to the trash as our party of 6 agreed that this wasn't edible. We won't be back; the place was quite full and people were coming in for the pizza, so that might be why they have 4 stars on yelp. We haven't tried their pizza though. read more

Do the math and you'll see ordering 8 slices wasn't any cheaper than 8 individual slices. They skimp on the cheese. I don't know if this is typical for beach pizza, but it sure seems like it because the 2 places I've ever been to that were beach pizza places didn't put much cheese on it. Pretty good flavor. The drink was a can of coke that was over a $1. I can't remember if it was $1.25 or $1.75, but I remember it being a bit steep for the price that it was. Tripoli's all the way baby!! Cristy's just doesn't do it for me. My girlfriend is a Cristy's fan and has tried to convert me but it just can't be done! But luckily they're right next to each other so we can both be happy. I love the taste of the sauce at Tripolis and they cook the crust just right to a nice crisp that holds up well when you pick it up. I do NOT like floppy pizza!! To all the people saying "This isn't pizza!!" ...sure, there's nothing gourmet about it and it's just crust, sweet sauce, and cheese (GET THE PROVOLONE EXTRA CHEESE!) but it is indeed pizza. After hearing all the hype about Tripoli Pizza I had to try it -- sadly, I was thoroughly disappointed. To start with, the sauce is sickeningly sweet: think the kind of sauce you would get from a Lunchables that you know is just loaded with sugar and barely any tomatoes. It honestly almost tastes like dessert. Then you get to the cheese, of which there is very, very little to begin with, and it's sort of just this greasy sprinkling of salty chewy chunks. Not at all appetizing. Finally, I had high hopes that at least I would enjoy the crust on my pizza, but sadly I did not. Very dry, flavorless, and beyond chewy. This is my favorite pizza in the world! It is just plain, simple cheese pizza at its finest. The crust is always crispy enough to support the slice so it doesn't fall over in your hands but not to the brink of being burnt. The sauce is seasoned to perfection, they do not add unnessessary spices to it. And the cheese, lightly sprinkled parm. and romano cheeses on top. You can always get extra cheese which is a little more money but is worth it since the extra cheese is a slice of provalone added on top. While it is on the beach, Tripoli's is open all year round which is aweosme when you have the craving during the winter. Your best bet is you are not a tourist is to order a sheet, which is equivalent to 2.5 large pizzas so you have left overs. Plus at the small price, how can you go wrong? read more

OMG I love LOVE this pizza! Absolutely yummy! Best when ordered with extra cheese (provolone cheese slices added on top). The sauce is hard to describe (other than delicious), but it's familiar to Spaghetti-O's. My friends and I would drive down in WINTER to get some Tripoli's Pizza. Yes, we drove to the beach for pizza while it was snowing- it is that good. I have not been here since 2003 or eaten the pizza since then but I remember it so well! It's amazing and the best pizza in the world. The sauce is tangy. The cheese is always just right, the dough is not too hard or soft once it's cooked and it's crisp around the edges. Greatest pizza ever! Also, greatest meatpies, too. These were one of my favorite foods back in the days when I ate pork/meat. It would be nice if they expanded the menu. When I was a kid I always thought they had other toppings to offer, et. but I realized in time they were strictly just pizza with cheese assortments, pepperoni and meat pies...spinach too, I think. But it would be amazing to see what can do with meatballs, chicken, and that sauce. Mmmm... I could see them selling meatball subs, chicken parmagiana subs, et. on tripoli bread with that classic tripoli sauce, too. Couldn't you all see that? Not the type to write reviews but had a very unpleasant experience with a young lady today. Ordered two cannolis and a box of pizza and the wait was fine so I got my pizza but didn't get my cannolis. I asked politely that I had ordered cannolis. The guy who gave me the pizza who was really nice asked the lady if there had been 2 cannolis with my order and she said she called it 3 times which I am positive that she did not call them out because I was right in front of the window the whole time. My friend before me ordered 2 cannolis as well and the lady did not call out the number but just shouted out 2 cannolis but there were many people ahead of me in line so it could've been anyone's. While waiting for our food, myself and several other customers commented to the manager that his employee should not be sweeping dirt around the food which was causing the dust cloud we were all witnessing. He didn't care, grabbed some pepperoni with his dirty hands and began topping a new pie while the sweeping continued. I guess drunks at 1am don't care, but sober people at 11 certainly do! Went there with a couple of friends just because the reviews were so good. We saw that the sauce was sweet in other reviews, but it's so sweet that it makes the pizza seem cheap. You pretty much have to order extra cheese because if you don't you only have about 4 shreds per slice. The menu makes no mention of toppings other than pepperoni but after we ordered we saw them putting other toppings on pizza. Luckily we only ordered 1 slice each to try or I would have been pretty annoyed. The crust was the only good thing. read more

When Cristi's pizza was the choice but then started to burn their pizza I switched to Tripoli's which at the time was much better. Now I'm finding after repeated encounters that they over cook the pizza all the time and the squares are noticeably smaller. How times have changed. I ate there on Friday, July 3rd, 2020. Now I do know that there is the Covid 19 going round and that most eateries have taken some type of hit to their businesses. That said there is still no excuse for what I would consider to be one of the worst pizzas that I have ever had. To be brief the pizza was not fully cooked. To be specific. The sauce was cold, not cool or warm but cold. The pepperoni was not cooked, it was still a pale color and the edges had not even started to curl, as it should when cooked. The cheese looked like spoiled curdled milk. The bottom of the crust was almost black and crunchy while the top was soft and chewy. I had 3 bites out of 1 piece then stopped eating it because it tasted so bad. My wife managed to eat a whole piece then said no more. We ended up throwing the rest of the pizza, 6 pieces, into the trash and finding another place to eat. They may have been having a "bad" night but I would not waste my time or money eating there again, there are much better places there. read more

The 5 star people must have grown up with Tripoli pizza or must be carried away by the beach setting because everyone in my group of four thought it was pretty bad. Maybe our expectations were too high from all the good reviews, but each square of barely warm, over sweet pizza was a disappointment. We had ordered the pepperoni and extra cheese and still thought the cheese was skimpy. The crust wasn't very good either; I usually like to munch on my crust, but it had no real taste. This place has some of the best pizza I have ever had. Friends of mine have tried to bribe the recipe out of the employees. No love. If I were rich I would buy this place and build one next to my house. Got a slice to try, the guy threw on 4 slices of pepperoni on the cheese pizza sitting on the table heated it for maybe 3 minutes and called it a pepperoni slice.
