A work lunch buffet catered by Tri-Seoul Food. Delicious!
    John M.

Occasionally in one's travels, if you're lucky, you stumble upon a gem of a restaurant that just simply makes your trip better. In Bristol, THIS is that place! Tri-Seoul is a family owned business, and the owners absolutely put their hearts, souls and incredible culinary talents into this restaurant. I was fortunate to have a work lunch catered by Tri-Seoul, which enabled me to try a little bit of everything ... and go back for more (twice). Hey, when the food is this good, one bowl just is not enough. The beef, chicken and spicy pork proteins were all delicious, but surprisingly if I had to choose I'd probably go with the chicken--the seasoning was excellent. The fried "Mandu" dumplings are a terrific appetizer, as are both the soy garlic and spicy wings. And a little insider secret from one of the owners ... don't miss the sweet radishes--such a perfect compliment to the wings. Finally, the cucumber and traditional kimchis are equally good, and the spice level is spot on. I loved everything Tri-Seoul had to offer, and I'm not ashamed at all to say we had it BOTH days during our work conference--it was just that good! If you haven't already, you've gotta give this place a try ... what in the world are you waiting for?!?

Traditional warm bibimbap w egg and some mandu on the side. Yum!

We ended up ordering kimchi, chicken bibimbap, crispy rice, and hot ginseng tea. As another reviewer pointed out, there are no vegetables on the bibimbap. We did get a fried egg, though, as a paid option. The flavor was good - slightly spicy and slightly sweet (my husband thought it was too sweet). The crispy rice was good but too sweet for both of us. The Kimchi was delicious but not spicy at all. (We would have liked it even more if it were at least a little bit spicy.) It seemed like the dishes here have been tailored to accommodate American tastes. Bottom line: the food is good, but not quite what we expected from a restaurant known for authentic Korean cuisine.

Had an egg on it as it was served in a Dolsot stoneware--very tasty, just wished it had some veggies like the traditional one(spinach and carrots). And lastly the kimchi was good as she makes it there and was fresh, which is my preference. Great lunch on the way to the lake.

Everyone at our table received their food in a timely manner--except me. I ordered the hamachi kama and was told it would take about 20 minutes to bake, which I was completely fine with. However, after waiting... and waiting... and watching my entire family finish their meals, we were then told my order had been messed up because the restaurant got backed up and busy and would take another 10-15 minutes. At that point, nearly everyone was done eating, so I asked for my meal to be boxed to-go. We spoke with a manager, Chris, who apologized and told us the meal would be comped--which felt like an appropriate resolution given the situation. But after sitting there for almost TWO HOURS total, my husband and son went to follow up, only to be told that my order had been completely canceled. The reasoning? That they "weren't going to comp something and let you walk out with free food." That response was honestly shocking. I never asked for anything extra--just the meal I ordered, even if it had to be to-go at that point. Instead, I left without eating at all. The lack of communication, the excessive wait, and the way the situation was handled at the end completely ruined what was supposed to be a celebratory night. Really disappointing experience. We didn't even want to order the desserts we planned on ordering because at that point, they didn't deserve another dollar. The environment would've been enjoyable if we weren't focused on food missing and the lack of customer service.

Otherwise, service was great.

The teriyaki bowl was pretty good though with various flavors of the sauces and food components. Unfortunately, as i left I used the men's room and while it was clean neither of the automatic soap squirt dispensers could be coaxed into operating with any amount of prestidigitation. A particularly disturbing experience as I had followed a kitchen crew member into the men's room who had apparently gone to to take a dump. So I guess the best he will be able to do is to maybe rinse his hands prior to returning to the kitchen??? DOUBLE YUCK. I did let the bar manager know on the way out and she did leave to go look into the soap issue. It appears to be a light, fun, and trendy place reminiscent of the Fridays restaurants but with an updated and current atmosphere inside. Probably a good place to bring a group gathering.

The restaurant was not busy at this time - a few patrons at the bar and a few tables occupied. We were sat, greeted and served quickly. Upstairs featured seating near floor to ceiling windows which created a fun ambiance. There were a lot of wooden details in the decor that really made the place pop and feel more fun. The food was good. I really enjoyed the fish tacos and all the flavors in the toppings. It was also nice to see salmon tacos versus a fried white fish or tilapia. The house made queso is good goooood!! My daughter and I really enjoyed it. Their menu was so big between Asian and Mexican dishes it was a bit overwhelming. I think I would try another restaurant if in the area again but I lived close by I would probably come again.

I would still come back and explore a lot of the menu.

The littered parking lot and dirty front door should have told me to not walk in. But, I thought maybe I was being too "judgy" and plucked up my courage. Since They billed themselves as Asian fusion, I was hoping to see some unique Thai, Korean Japanese, etc offerings. I asked the gal at the front counter for suggestions and she recommended French fries. Fries are your best dish?!? She couldn't answer any of my questions about the rest of the menu. Strike 1. A phone call came in while we were discussing the menu and she took it. While she was on the phone, I noticed all the upcharge signs. A 4% charge for using a credit card. A charge if you want a chili oil. A charge if you wanted a cup of water. A charge saying all sauces are extra. Strike 2. I finally settled on one of their "Fan Favorites" - a pork ramen bowl. Paid (no, I'm not tipping you for taking my order) and sat down. The tables all looked really dirty. But I couldn't tell if it was dirt or rust. I sat down and immediately noticed dozens of dead bugs in the dust on the windowsill. They were on the floor, too. And they were flying all over the place trying to get out of the windows. Maybe I should have followed their instincts and tried to get out too. Strike 3. I picked up my dish when the buzzer rang (Seriously, WHY are you asking for tips?). First impressions were that it looked really bland. Basically a bunch of wet noodles and a half of an egg and some sketchy looking meat rolls. I dove in and it was just pure salt. No other flavors. Salty AF. Tried the meat. It was supposed to be "fatty pork" and it didn't disappoint...in a bad way. Stringy globs of inedible fat. It was so gross, I dumped it all. Strike 4. While exiting, I looked at the other diners meals. Most of them had the fries. Maybe I should have taken the cashier's suggestion...
