Ok I rarely give 5 star reviews but this place is amazing! We ordered the hummus, gyro plate, large pizza, baklava cheesecake, chocoalte serano cake and white chocolate raspberry torte. The employees were all very friendly. It was so hard to decide on a dessert so we ordered 3. The pizza was pretty decent for Tn since no one seems to know how to make good pizza here. Ordered a salad and a Greek burger for meal. The location was really bustling and moving people in an out but didn't seem to be pressuring them to eat and go; seating was ample. My husband and I were out running errands on Volunteer Parkway and decided to find a place to sit down and eat. We decided on Mad Greek on Volunteer Parkway in Bristol TN. I got the Norwegian Salmon with the green beans with marinara sauce, and the greek potatoes as my sides. I noticed that my sides were somehow getting drowned in water. I cut into the center of my salmon and it was still frozen! Not just uncooked!..It was still frozen in the center! I had no choice. I had to tell our server about the situation. It wasn't her fault at all They only comped the salmon off of my meal. I still had to pay for the green beans and potatoes even though they were inedible and untouched! I went back to the 1960s twice in coming to the Mad Greek. I was meeting a high school classmate that I had not seen in nearly 60 years and the restaurant was classic 1950s /60s. Booths, elaborate in variety menu, an outdoor garden and lots of plastic flowers and vines in decoration. Menu was soup to nuts, literally and figuratively. Pastas, roasts and meats of all kinds. And, given the name GREEK, there were the classic normal Greek fare of names I don't know how to spell. Very, very great. Food was great, super large portions, superb service and continual beverage refreshment. And everything tasted great. Company was also great. Ordered a St Louis Pasta with extra chicken got home opened it up no thing but noodles and sauce. Called the restaurant manager treated me like a criminal said bring it back but it was late had to eat what we had said since she had no proof couldn't do anything about it. Charged me over $21.00 for basically a vegetarian dish. One gentlemen I talked to said he put the lid on the dish himself guess he was blind because there was NO CHICKEN!!! My wife & I were in Kingsport for a Dr. appointment and after we needed something to eat. We did a quick search and saw the Mad Greek. So, I'm Greek and we've been wanting some Greek food since we moved to Virginia a few months back. The reviews were either great or there were a couple duds. We got there before the dinner rush and the first thing we see is the cake case. Very impressive looking bunch of cakes. Atmosphere was really nice with the typical Greek touches. Very welcoming. We were seated and looked at the menus. I got a Greek beer that was great and got the hummus dip appetizer along with the Mousaka platter, Gyro platter & Spanakopita platter. We shared and tasted everything. Mousaka was pretty good. The bechemel wasn't as creamy as I like but it was ok. The rest of it tasted good as well. The Gyro meat was thick and plentiful. Not very flavorful but still, pretty good. The Spanakopita, which is a casserole that is layered like lasagne wasn't prepared that was. It was more like a burrito with spinach and feta stuffed inside. This made the mouth texture feel like you had a lot of filo dough in your mouth and not so much of anything else. Not great and my wife was really looking forward to it. For dessert we got the Rainbow cake? Not sure that's right but it was suppose to be a golden cake with berries and cream in it. It was basically carrot cake. Pretty tasty carrot cake. The cream cheese icing wasn't great but it was ok. We also got the Baklava cheesecake. Pretty good cheesecake and the baklava tasted good but could have been much taller with more layers. Kinda puny baklava. Strangely enough, there was a middle layer of the carrot cake in there. Both cakes were huge and priced reasonably. I'm Not bashing them because we will try them again next time we're in town, but they could raise they're game quite a bit. read more

When we called the restaurant the person working there basically said "Call your Dasher. It's not our problem." We did not have the Dasher's number and the restaurant would not reimburse us. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Mad Greek! Was looking for a different place to eat while visiting the area, and this one popped up. It's not what I would call a traditional Greek restaurant as they also serve calzones and pizzas, but there are Greek influences in the entrees. I had chicken souvlaki which was very tasty along with a small Greek salad which was actually a very nice size. This is a great local Greek-Italian fusion restaurant in Bristol. We chanced upon it while looking for a place to eat during a road trip that got interrupted by a flat tire. So while the tire was repaired we had a quick meal here. The ambiance is welcoming with a pleasant outdoor patio area for dining and a dining room with a variety of seating ranging from booths to intimate tables for two. We were greeted and seated immediately and were happy to find a dish for everyone on the very inclusive menu. I had the chicken skewers with rice which are Greek-style. I was very pleased with the amount of chicken, there was actually plenty for two people to share. The rice was also tasty and well seasoned and the accompanying green beans in a garlic tomato seasoning were quite delicious. Our party also ordered the chicken Alfredo pasta dinner and a chicken calzone which were pronounced to be yummy. The service was very quick, especially for a holiday and the waitress was attentive, keeping our water glasses filled and clearing plates quickly. We also shared the baklava for dessert and it was perfect! Nicely spiced with cinnamon, oozing with honey and stuffed full of pistachio. Just the way it should be! After patronizing this popular restaurant in Bristol dozens of times over the years, I found it intriguing that we were the only group in the place at 3:00 on a Sunday. The dirty floors and bathroom forbade a distasteful omen, but I chose to look past this book's cover and chalk the dirtiness up to a post-church rush. Given, I hadn't been to this location in over a year - all my previous experiences have been relatively positive. After ordering two appetizers, my fears began to fall into place minute-by-minute. Literally minute-by-minute - the two appetizers took 15 minutes to reach our table. Once they did, one of the plates was unclean. Furthermore, soggy, cold avocado egg rolls are something that even the most rudimentary culinary student wouldn't plate, but they were brought to our table nonetheless. Hungry for something more edible, we persevered to our entrees. For the past 20 years, Mad Greek in Bristol has always provided alright food with a consistent quality, and this day seemed like no exception to that rule. I tried portions of all 4 meals, and they were all okay. However, with this pandemic thing, prices have obviously risen and ingredient substitutions are inherent to that trend. To be clear, the food is not bad and it has always been relatively consistent, but it will not leave you rushing back for more. It didn't seem like the employees were rushing to sweep the floor either... After dining at the Mad Greek in Johnson City (30 minutes away) multiple times, I told myself I would never patronize the Johnson City location again. To sum up those experiences, there was always something dirty or left to be desired. I still patronized the Bristol location because nothing was ever amiss, but it seems that the trend in Johnson City has slowly caught up to the Bristol location. I don't know if it is a management issue or the family cutting slack from within, but I probably will not be back to any of the locations. If you are looking to eat in Bristol, there are various restaurants at the Pinnacle, downtown, and at Exit 7 with great food at comparable prices. If you do choose Mad Greek, you will probably enjoy a decent meal - you likely won't go wrong, but you also probably won't go right. If you are management, slacking on the small things might help you retain staff, but not customers with ever-growing competition. Adio read more

We called ahead for pickup this past weekend, since we were craving some Greek food. We ordered the Gyro Platter and Greek Chicken. During this COVID world that we are living in they had one of the better crowds with both indoor and outdoor seating with the social distancing. The phone was also ringing off and on the entire time that I was waiting. My gyro was very good and the meat was very flavorful. We were very impressed with the portions and had food left over. The food was very tasty but what made me want to kick it up from a four star to a five star was the service. The man that helped me was extremely kind, helpful, and friendly. We chatted for a short time- maybe a minute- and it didn't seem as though he was going through the motions. The customer service at this place is terrible. Called in a pick up order last night. Picked it up and headed home to the wife to eat. We settled down in front of the tv, pulled the food out, and there were missing items Now, this can happen anywhere, I understand that. But, when I called the restaurant to address the issue, it was like pulling teeth to simply get a refund for the missing items. They first wanted me to drive all the way back out there for the missing items, yet offered no recompense. When I refused, they offered to give me the particular items for free next time I was there (WHAT?!?). Finally they offered to refund my card for the exact amount of the missing items. No apology, no offer to give any extra refund or anything of the sort. Extremely disappointed in this restaurant and their care of the customer. If you're not concerned with the service, the food here is hit or miss, some good, some average. If service is a priority, look elsewhere. read more
