John Airy of On-Site Techs returned my call almost immediately, has reasonable rates and could see me the next day. Once John assessed the time for transfer of data from computer to computer, he recommended saving time by taking the two laptops to his location to complete the data transfer. He then was willing to return on a holiday to adjust the views on the new computer to my familiarity so that I could function for the next work day. John is extremely knowledgeable, proficient and efficient. He communicated well to explain how views could be adjusted and he made good suggestions without tying to upsell programs. Checked out their website, then gave them a call about cleaning up my Mac before my vacation. I put it off to the last minute and wasn't sure they could help. Chris, the owner, actually answered the phone. He said to bring it down. I came in that same day and he told me they would: clean it up, install new OS, remove junk, and speed it up overall. However since we paid a lot for it back then when it was top of the line we hoped it could be fixed to hand down to an older more responsible grandchild. We decided we didn't want to overspend money on it since it was aging. We left a $75 deposit to diagnose the problem and were told we would be called if there would be any additional charge and the deposit would be applied. I would not have spent more than $100. No call came and then we were called that it was done and the bill was $200. We questioned this on pickup and our only recourse offered was they could undo the repairs. The keyboard does work nicely and sounds like it did originally but it would have been nice to have had a choice first.
