A little hidden gem that serves up great quality deli style sandwiches! My favorite sandwich to get is the "Hot Pastrami Deluxe". I get it on sliced white and request for honey mustard instead of deli mustard. It seriously is one of the best sandwiches I've had. It comes with a wicked side pasta salad that'll get you hooked. I had breakfast here Saturday morning before going on a walk. I ordered their Trolly Stop Deli breakfast sandwich on wheat and I cup of coffee. The sandwich was good but it had a few draw backs. The bread was only toasted on one side and the bacon was not crispy. It was well stuffed (see photo) with eggs, 3 eggs in fact, that were fluffy and cooked through properly. The coffee was average on the weaker side. The place was nice and clean and the employees were, how can I put it, perhaps a little on indifferent side. To be more direct, I did not feel like a valued customer, but I did have a descent sandwich. I really wanted to give this place a 4 star rating but the mishap on the bread, bacon, and weak coffee, I have to say a 3.5 rating would be appropriate. read more

OMG, I can't say enough how scrumptious the pasta salad is... I could just eat it all day! I've had a sandwich here, it was okay, so I'm not as sad to see that they've downgraded their meats since I only come here for the pasta salad. Came here because I was in the mood for something light. I saw that this place had great reviews and wanted to try their best sandwich. I ordered the Club Sandwich with avocado. Love this place! I always get the pastrami sandwich and my husband always gets the killer club. My 18 month old is the PICKIEST eater on earth but he looooves their pasta salad. I actually bought a jar of the dressing and the employees told me to dip veggies in it for my son and it worked! This place makes you feel welcomed and at home. Definitely my go to sandwich spot! I ordered the chili and the Reuben wrap. My wife had the bbq chicken wrap. Both amazing! The service provided was the best as well! The woman that took our order was very pleasant. The first wrap my wife got had tomatoes (she doesn't like tomatoes) and she took it to them and they replaced it in no time without complaint. The cookies they have there are some of the most amazing cookies my wife and I have ever had. The meat and cheese were (seemingly) purchased straight from the deli and they slice it in front of you. So you have the thick piece of quality cheese instead of the crappy thin slice of velveta. We can't wait to go back!! read more

Not sure about what people are saying about the bad attitude of staff. I ALWAYS find the staff friendly and accommodating. Quality meats, cheeses, great breads and many choices make this little place far better than the other place nearby. Their cold pasta salad is tasty without too much sodium. And it is cooked to perfection (the pasta). Sure it takes time. Good things always do. And they have tons of to go orders called in so take your place in line (or call in ahead of time if you are in a hurry). But if you want a sandwich that is a cut above you won't be disappointed here. Worth the wait, early or late...well late lunch time that is. read more

The food here is delicious, however my experience was spoiled by the poor customer service. I grew up in San Diego and loved eating here almost twice a month! After moving away, i made a point to visit when i came back to San Diego. Unfortunately this visit was not the same. As i placed my order the cashier seemed bothered as he asked me my option, and snapped at me when i asked a question for clarification. The staff was all younger males and they seemed to be unhappy about being there it was evident by the vibe in the room and It reflected in their work, my food wasn't great. I didn't receive utensils with my order, when i walked in to ask for a set, someone from behind the counter, without looking at me, or addressing me, barked "there are utensils in the bag" as if i wasn't intelligent enough to look for them first. Over all the experience was so poor i won't be coming back, i would prefer to remember my experiences from the good old days. I would suggest hiring people who understand customer service. read more

This place does not deserve the 4 start rating it has. The menu, the decor, and the options are uninspired and lazy. I feel bad for people that are rating this place higher than 3 stars, as I know they've never had a good sandwich in their life. This is not a deli, it is a mediocre sandwich shop with a church/daycare next door that keeps it alive. They make nearly nothing here from scratch. The meat is sub-par Dietz and Watson, not Boar's Head as some have suggested. The bread is generic. They skimp on the toppings, so you're really not getting a good deal even on a special. THE PASTA SALAD IS GARBAGE. Seriously, it's over cooked pasta with ranch dressing and Parmesan sprinkled on top. It is bad. No veggies? You don't marinate the salad in dressing but add it later? Come on! Sorry nice people that work there, but work harder. Learn how to corn beef, roast turkey, or roast beef. At least try a few different pasta salads that don't come from Albertsons. Find a local baker that cares about their bread. Rethink where you processed meat comes from, don't just take the easy way of having D&W give you your menu. Grill a sandwich and taste the difference. As far as non-ethnic delis are concerned, this one is up there with the best of them. Boar's Head meats and products will always make for a wonderful sandwich experience. Pretty basic stuff, for sure, but it is done well at normal prices. It isn't anything you couldn't make yourself at home, but you go to a deli for convenience sometimes. The sandwiches come with a pasta salad that is perfectly cooked noodles with lots of herbs, and some kind of smoky ranch dressing. It was easy to gobble that all up! The sandwiches have nice, thick, fresh bread on them, and they give you lots of meat and cheese. The veggie sandwich is piled high with every single vegetable they offer plus two kinds of cheese in there for some much needed protein. All in all, good in a pinch, but not my favorite. The sandwiches are pretty decent, but nothing you couldn't make yourself and brown bag from home, although they do serve Boar's Head meats which are very tasty. My favs here and what keep me coming back are the pasta salad and their soups. I don't know what it is about their pasta salad, but I could eat it every day. I work around the corner so I hit up the Trolley Stop a couple times a week. Lots of times, I will get just the pasta salad with no sandwich, and hubby frequently asks me to stop by on the way home from work and bring a container of it home. Their staff is fast, but a bit on the surly side. They close early on Saturdays and are closed Sundays. read more
