Avoid at all cost! I hired David of Tromp's Carpet Cleaning based on his initial estimate, but my experience was very disappointing. They ended up charging me significantly more than the original quote without any prior warning or clear explanation. When I questioned the extra cost, the cleaner claimed they found unexpected stains that required additional treatment. However, I have photos taken before the cleaning clearly showing there were no such stains at all. This felt like a dishonest attempt to inflate the bill, which is both frustrating and unprofessional. If you value transparency and honesty, I would be very cautious about using this service. My dog had an accident on my staircase and I panicked and accidentally grabbed a bleach bottle instead of my carpet stain remover bottle to clean the area. It left me with a huge discoloration spot on two areas of my staircase. I contacted David and he got back to me quickly. My experience with Tromp is bitter sweet. Bitter because I can't believe how nasty my couch was until he showed me how new he could make it look, sweet. The other reviews don't lie! I was moving and I wanted to get the carpet and some old furniture (we bought used furniture) professionally cleaned. I never asked for a quote on yelp before, but it was quite easy, so I asked a few places. I over guessed on dimensions of the room and showed photos of the chairs and sofa I wanted clean. Maybe got 5 or 6 quotes back. Tromp was very quick to respond, and answered all of my questions. I also said I was able to pay cash, and he said there was a discount if we can pay cash! So I thought that was great! I also noticed not a lot of cleaning companies are willing to work Saturday AND Sunday, so it was great to see Tromp was able to do that. Tromp was the quickest and the cheapest (by a little bit). Ended up going with him because he had the best availability to work Saturday, and we wanted to be there when the cleaning happened. At first I wanted to meet at 8AM, and I said the earlier the better because we were moving in all that day and we wanted the carpet dry as soon as possible to move in our furniture, so he said "alright! lets meet at 7:30AM". I pull up to the house at 7:24AM, and he's already there setting up his truck and the hose! It was great to have someone so on time! I opened the door for him, and he got right to work. I started cleaning the kitchen as he started the 3 rooms. We only have carpet in the 3 rooms, and (4) dining chairs and (1) large sofa. He went through the rooms pretty quickly, and he got to show me a small patch of what the carpet looked like before he cleaned and after he cleaned! I told him we wanted the rooms dried ASAP because we wanted to move in later that day, and he saw that we had ceiling fans, and turned them on for us and opened the windows because he said that will help dry the carpet quicker. I thought that was great he took that initiative. Even as he was cleaning, we would make casual conversation. He's very easy to talk to, and that made the process smoother in general. He cleaned the furniture quickly too. He really knew what he was doing. He finished up and started packing up his truck. When he came back for the final calculations - the rooms sizes I gave him were bigger than the size of the actual room and in the honor system, and charged me less than what he quoted!! I was willing to pay the quoted amount, but it ended up being I think $40 less because the rooms were smaller, so I gave Tromp a tip for doing such a wonderful job! He ended up leaving around 9:30! He got everything done within 2 hours and the rooms dried by 3PM! If I need another carpet cleaning, I will definitely go to Tromp! read more
