My boyfriend and I went to get lunch this Saturday morning and we were sat at a table immediately. The food was fresh and so delicious! I got an agua de horchata and it was so good! The consistency was kind of like a smoothie which was something I hadn't had before but I would go back to get that alone. My boyfriend got the melon punch smoothie and he said it was fresh and didn't have an artificial taste the way other smoothie places do. Worth the wait. Like many other reviews have mentioned, plan on waiting a bit for your food. But you won't be disappointed and your time is rewarded with good food. Where they lack speed, they make it up with the quality of their food and drinks. This isn't a fast food place, so I was prepared to wait. I have been here twice and there has always been people ahead of me and a line that forms after me. So it appears they are popular and stay busy around lunch time. There was 3 ladies working, one at the register, and 2 cooking in the back. The kitchen is visible from the waiting area, and they were hustling and preparing everything fresh. (Which explains the wait) The dine in was closed, so it is take out only. There is a restroom available, and seats while you wait. The place was clean, and the woman at the register was helpful and friendly. We did wait about 20 minutes, but the food was very good, had great flavor, and you could just tell was made fresh. The Lomo torta was huge and the best one in Chula Vista. The salad was fresh, and very filling even for a small. They didn't skimp on the toppings and overall I was impressed. The Aguas/ juices/waters were squeezed and prepared to order. It was all fruit and veggies and the taste was delicious. It's off the beaten path and is off on it's own in an industrial type neighborhood.. It is only open for lunch and they do lunch right! They have an excellent selection of Tortas. Tortas like you've never had before! This isn't your typical Robertos carne asada torta. They use fresh baked bread and really fresh meats and other ingredients. The combination of flavors with the hot sauce is mouth watering! My favorite is the Torta de especial. And when you go for lunch you must must must try the fruit waters that they make. They have about a dozen flavors made from fresh fruit juice that you can try alone or mix. It's family owned and they always greet you with a smile. This place makes the best all natural, fresh fruit smoothies. It's definitely made it into my regular rotation for lunch during the work week when I'm craving something cool and refreshing. My current favorites are the Berry Berry (blueberry, strawberry, banana & non-fat yogurt) and Mango Paradise (mango, strawberry, blueberry, orange juice & non-fat yogurt). They have 13 different smoothies which all sound great and they are flexible with substituting ingredients at no extra charge. I substitute non-fat yogurt instead of ice cream in the Mango Paradise smoothie. And they also make wonderful fresh fruit salads. $5 for a small gets you ALOT of fresh chopped up fruit like papaya, cantaloupe, watermelon, banana, strawberries, peach and mango topped with cottage cheese, granola, and honey. And to top that, they make the best vegetarian torta too! The Veggie comes with panela cheese, avocado, black beans, red onion, lettuce and tomato. The torta's are huge and filling too! Everything is made fresh, so there could be a wait during peak lunch hours since they get busy. I recommend you call your order ahead if you are on a time limit. It's also kind of hidden. It looks more like a house than a food establishment. It's between a Discount Tires and an Inn. I recommend parking in the back where you won't get towed. The inside is old and the decor can use some help, but there is plenty of seating. Service is always friendly too! read more

This place lost one star only because their service was just ok and the food took forever to get out (30 minutes) In my eyes 30 minutes is too long for a torta when you are only making 3! There was no one there so it should not have taken that long! Regardless if you are not on a half hour lunch you may choose to stop in and enjoy a delicious Torta, Salad, or Smoothie.
