I should have realized what parking would be when I saw it was in a Publix shopping plaza but I was not ready for the Boynton lunch brigade... Strike 1 - Anyplace you have to ask for a restroom key to wash your hands should probably be pretty low on your list, but I soldiered on. Strike 2 - Although I saw 4 different faces behind the counter, judging by the line I waited through they take the tropical theme seriously and were operating on island time. The cashier was friendly enough but definitely not in a hurry to help anyone else except her friends, who ordered after but somehow got their smoothies before me... even though we ordered the same thing! Strike 3 - Don't bother trying to sit down to enjoy your stay here. The seats are thin hard metal, and the same same size as our desk chairs in 3rd grade. ** The one shining star this place gets is for the lone cook, busting his butt to turn out the hot food while the blender crew took their sweet time with things. - So in keeping with the tropical theme I got the Bahama Mama, sadly my Caribbean delight had promised pineapple and coconut, but all I could taste was strawberry... and though I hoped for at least a minuscule lump of something to convince myself this was real fruit, yeah... no, they must have the most powerful purée blenders in the world. - The guy in the kitchen came through for me though. My Thai Chicken Wrap had the perfect balance of crisp veg, tender chicken, and sauce. I'd have given up the whole smoothie for another bite of that wrap. There is no ambiance to speak of here, no tropical decor or festive lighting, not even a potted palm with a plastic parrot. This post would have been a zero stars if I could. After traveling 20+ hours from Texas, this was our first stop in Florida for breakfast and when I walked in, I was greeted with a "yo" by the male employee. As I proceeded to order, the female behind the register had a very unfriendly look, I wasn't acknowledged and I was basically being stared at being I started talking on what I wanted to eat. Not to mention she had her pants low and her boxes showing. The ambiance was neutral as there were no customers sitting in the lobby. This location is always packed with customers, but the customer service is always amazing. There are usually a lot of teenagers and young adults working at this location, but the service is always top-tier. The restaurant is always playing upbeat, urban or reggae music to get you in the vibe of wanting a delicious smoothie. And although orders do take a while to be made, the vibe is always very lively. Prices are pretty high for a smoothie In my opinion. I just spent $10 for a regular 16 ounce pomegranate plunge. I did have some issues with requesting no bananas in my smoothie and they still putting bananas in my smoothie. I would leave a 0 star if I could. We have ordered from them multiple times, usually within an hour or more of closing. They cancel every single time because it's basically run by a bunch of lazy ass teenagers who could care less about the customer and more about staring at their phones. Whomever the owner/manager is, maybe you should train your staff better or pay better attention to what is happening in your store. That was a mistake once again. When we walked in way to many ppl allowed while covid everywhere. There was a guy already when we open door. We waited 10 min to order. That guy still waiting. 15 min from order pass and that guy still waiting asking multiple times about his order. First time here. Did not have any service issues that other people wrote about. Cashier was smiling and friendly. Smoothie came in about 5 mins. I got the Avocolada. Very large for the price (I'm from Miami, so maybe stuff is cheaper up here). Very tasty. My only complaint is that they use styrofoam cups, which is extremely irresponsible in this day and age. I love tropical smoothie, their good and smoothies are delicious however this location is always frustrating. Whether I order and pay online for pick up or go into the store and order, there is always a wait. At least 5 minutes for online orders and 10+ minutes for orders placed in store. It happened a few times and I thought well they could be having staffing or technical issues but now it is every time I go. I went in for a pre-workout breakfast smoothie. Its located in a Publix plaza off off Gateway blvd. As I waked in its a small bright l shaped establishment. The cashier greeted us, took our order, and then made our smoothies. The wait wasn't too long as we were the only customers inside. As I waited, there were chairs and tables to dine in and they also have free WiFi. I had the Health Nut. It has mangoes, berries, banana, almonds and protein. Its was really tasty and I would definitely order it again. They also sell sandwiches and soups. I'll be back to try them soon. Talk about a celebration in my mouth! I've been coming here for years & they have never disappointed. I've tried everything on their menu however today, was my first time trying their "Salted Caramel Smoothie" and may I say, whatever smoothie God decided to give this smoothie a shot deserves a goddamn (excuse my language) trophy! It was insanely perfect. The taste was amazing. It was like having a Werthers Original in a 24oz cup! Not even exaggerating! Don't get me started on their pumpkin spice. Jeez. Iv brought my golden doodle many times to other locations. Today it was 100 degrees and I ordered my food and some kid "Lewis or Louis" comes to the front and says I have to wait outside in the blistering heat. I said it's pet friendly and refused to go out and he demanded I go out. So I called around to several tropical smoothie locations and every single one said they are pet friendly and to come on by and they will even have a treat waiting for my pup. I even went back in to confront Lewis about how it's pet friendly and he still insisted saying I don't make the rules and was extremely rude. I will say the other employees at this location were polite and nice to my dog , but Lewis/Louis has zero business working in customer service. Ehh... I had a $5 giftcard left unused from last year and decided to use it while I was still in the Quantum Plaza. I ordered the Sunrise Sunset which is strawberries, pineapple, mango, and orange juice. Came down to less than $5. It was okay and very very thick. Only drank 1/4 of the cup though because I then had a headache from it ( not a brain freeze). I make smoothies at home with fresh fruits, too, no dairy either. I think the headache was from the added turbinado sugar which I think is absolutely unnecessary as fruit is sugar too! It was just ridiculously thick that it was hard to drink through the straw. My husband didn't care for it either. We may be spoiled with our homemade smoothies and that our standards have been forever influenced by the amazing smoothies made at the old Nutrition Cottage that once stood at Atlantic in Delray. RIP. (The Boynton location still has yet to open a bar from what I hear). While the place was visibly clean, the employees didn't seem to like to work there. Why be so grouchy???? My first order of business as Duke of this fair establishment is to set the record straight regarding their rating... Delicious smoothies. Thats what they are in the business of. I often call ahead to pick up my smoothies and the friendly casher has them waiting for me, chilling, in a refrigerator. When I'm there the staff is a pleasure to talk to and is very responsive. While it is true that sometimes the staff does chat with one another, I think we can chalk it up to the fact that most of them are high school and college students who (as im sure we can all remember) working at that age is a social experience too. Occasionally they are understaffed but this rarely becomes an issue because the place is NEVER packed. There is seldom a long line, and when there is those kids are running around in the back to make everyone's smoothie. To start off, the smoothies are delicious!! I recommend the Bahama mama, it's my favorite! You get a huge size for such a great price compared to other smoothie cafes. Staff is usually always very friendly. BUT this location is always very busy, the line is usually to the door and the service is so SLOW! You'll be waiting 15 just to order then stand in a crowded restaurant for another 25 minutes until they call your name & grabbing food? Forget it! Takes twice as long and the food isn't even good.
