I feel like I should write another review because well number one no management reached out and number two because I'm actually still upset about it, it's not so much at the fact that the sandwich was $15.25 and I had to ask them to remake it three times and when I walked up to the third time, the man was the manager was refusing to touch my chicken that was ice cold that had been remade for the third time and then he like, I said refuse to give me my money back, so I just told him that I want it remade as many times as possible until my food is correct which I don't think is a crazy request out of a customer, and then I wanted to add there was another customer sitting there talking about how his niece worked there so I do not care if your niece works here that is not an excuse for bad customer service and cold food. We stopped in recently to grab a couple of smoothies. It wasn't busy so we were waited on right away. The service was so unwelcoming and unfriendly by the woman working that both me and daughter talked of it as soon as we left the shop. It's one thing to not greet when walking in or when being served - but to have a look of disdain the whole time is off putting. As if she hates people but works in a service business. First time I came here and I ordered the Detox Island Green - a veggie and fruit combo that is naturally sweetened for only 180 calories. My mom got the same thing only minus the ginger. When the worker put the smoothies on the counter after making them, we asked which one had the ginger and which one didn't. She abruptly told us that it was on the label and turned back around. The labels were wrong, however. This would not be a good place to come if you have a sensitivity or allergy to any ingredients. They offer more than smoothies as well - sandwiches (no gluten free option), salads, wraps, and a small children's menu with cheese quesadillas and grilled cheese. There are add ins for the smoothies for $1.25 each, including a fat burner, B12, probiotics, chia seeds, and multivitamin. There's a good amount of seating considering the smaller size of the establishment, including two person tables as well as high top tables for groups. There's no music or background noise other than the echoed clinking of the smoothie making instruments so sitting inside was rather awkward. read more

I stopped in on my way home from CVG after a long morning of travel, absolutely parched and craving something that felt halfway healthy. On a whim I decided that was Tropical Smoothie Cafe. They were wicked fast and within about 5 minutes of ordering I was walking back out with two ginormous smoothies. (Keep that in mind because I quite honestly did not know how gargantuan these would be.) I ordered the Island Green which is a mix of kale, spinach, pineapple, mango and banana. It tasted mostly like banana which was totally fine with me. Starving for fluids and nutrients, I downed the whole thing over maybe an hour and a half. It was refreshing, filling and not sickly sweet which was exactly what I wanted. I got the Mango Magic for my husband which is a blend of mango, pineapple and yogurt. It was smoother and sweeter than mine but still not as overly sweet as the smoothies you might get at Panera or Mickey D's. (He did not finish it, but only because it was huge and he'd already eaten a real lunch.) I would like to try the food at some point because it sounds tasty and looks pretty healthy, but I'd also consider the smoothies as a decent meal replacement option on a future day when I decide to drink my calories. read more

The amount you get + the price + the taste are a solid 5/5. I loved my smoothie, the Green Island. I awkwardly waited for about 10 minutes behind a couple that wasn't sure what they wanted to order. The lady taking their order was super helpful to them but I wish I could've went ahead instead of standing there like a weirdo, just looking around. You can add supplements for an additional 99cents, which is pretty cool. They had a lot of food choices like wraps and bowls. You can choose from a classic smoothie (4.99 like bananas, strawberries and blueberries or a power smoothie. My power smoothie came with pineapple, banana, kale and spinach... it was perfect. I don't say perfect often when referring to food/drink but I seriously LOVED my smoothie. I typically don't drink a lot but I killed me whole cup. Which brings me to an odd point... I love the size + feel of their cups! It's a big styrofoam cup that fit so comfortably in my hand. I'm looking forward to (hopefully) bumping up to 5 stars the next time I'm in! I have become very quickly addicted to this place and I am disappointed in myself that I didn't try it sooner. I have a tendency to buy or make myself smoothies and then be completely underwhelmed. In addition to that, they never seem to fill me up or I dont want to finish them.... until I discovered Tropical Smoothie Cafe. My current go-to smoothie is the Orange Ginger Glow. It is perfectly light and refreshing, yet filling. I find myself drinking it quite quick, thus suffering the dreaded brain freeze, because I enjoy it so much! The calories are reasonable, and even more so if you substitute Splenda. The cafe itself is small, but has plenty of tables or stools at a little "bar". The staff is friendly and prompt with their service. If you want to save time, you can order ahead online, although in person I haven't waited more than 5 mins for my order. Finally, the price, is such a great deal for what you are getting, $5 and change for what seems like quite a large size... in a great cup that keeps your drink cold for a long time! read more

Tropical Smoothie Cafe is a chain known for fresh fruit smoothies, wraps and bowls that has finally made its way to the Cincinnati area. My best friend and I made our first trip recently and knowing it was a chain I assumed they had nutritional information so I could fit it in my macros for the day, and they did! So I counted up my macros and opted for the Cali chicken club on a flatbread and some kale apple slaw as my side. My best friend ordered the buffalo chicken wrap with the slaw as well. For this first experience, we ate inside and placed our orders at the counter and the food was brought out to us. This is the part where they lose a star and that's for this weird experience. Lesson 101 in customer service, the costumer is always right. So she received her buffalo chicken wrap and it had onions it, which she asked for them not to be on there. She goes up to ask for a new one and the owner argues with her, saying she didn't ask to have no onions. She was taken back like what? You don't argue with me, you fix this. No matter your own mistake or not. She argued with him for 5 mins before he took it and asked the person making the food to redo. Dude no. You take it, apologize and fix. Legit was the weirdest thing and honestly you are gonna keep people coming back treating them that way. Seriously this would be a five star review aside from that. My boyfriend and I have done an online order that we picked up since but i wouldn't be shocked in my friend never goes again. I was anxious to see the owner after that and thankfully a girl handed me my food this time. I love this place! Whenever I am in the area, are usually stop by for a smoothie. I have never had a bad experience and my smoothie is always fresh, delicious, and full of flavor. My go-to is the green island smoothie! It's even a really vibrant green color, when most green smoothies look like gunk. Customer service has always been on point and the place is always clean and organized. Service is always consistent whether it is early morning, mid afternoon, or right before close. The staff is always friendly, has a smile on their face, and promptly serves you. Usually, I think I pay around five dollars or so for a smoothie. This is such a deal considering that you get so much. And that is not an exaggeration! It's literally an extra large smoothie that is so good, for so little. They have my business! read more

Not a fan! Stopped in to pick up a called ahead togo order. It had 2 24 ounce smoothies along with other food that rang up to over $33 worth of stuff. I asked for a drink carrier and was informed that they only gave out drink carriers on 4 smoothie orders. "Not enough profit to give you a drink carrier" was the official reason. Seriously? I have been in the F & B industry for over 20 years and I can tell you no one has ever gone out of business for providing a 12.5 cent drink carrier. Especially a place that sells high priced :"Restaurant Depot Quality" junk food. Probably be closed in less than a year or 2. Save you money and go to Rapid Fire Pizza next door. They not only serve healthy smoothies, but food as well (sandwiches, wraps, tacos, salads, kid sizes). This is a gem for sure. I ordered the shrimp soft taco with buffalo sauce. Large pieces of shrimp, fresh carrots w/other delicious ingredients. Two of them were only $5ish. I thought this was a good price for lunch. Very filling too. IT WAS DELICIOUS! So refreshing to eat lunch that didn't taste the same as all the rest. I have tried the the island green and the detox smoothies. Both are good. They aren't super sweet. You have to have a taste for kale and spinach, but the added fruit sweetens it up just enough. I will say some of the other smoothies that have peanut butter and pea protein are VERY HIGH in carbs and sugars. I can't speak for the other smoothies yet, but I will say the place was packed with multiple orders of them. Place was clean. Service was very good. This is my favorite place, I've been a loyal customer since I discovered them in Orlando, FL in 2014. The Caribbean Jerk Wrap and Quesadillas are my favorite food items. I like all of the smoothies because they have plenty of non-dairy options and you can reduce sugar content by asking for half Turbinado or no added sugar. The supplements are .99 cents and they have an AWESOME rewards program. I get $5 off meals often for continuing to use the rewards program. Finally, they have a great app that lets your order ahead and pick your order up with virtually no wait, most of the time. read more

The smoothies are great, I guess I was naive and thought after spending an hour or two a day working out stopping here I would try and be healthy. They portray this super healthy image and I was disappointed to learn today that my lean machine smoothie had 100gs of sugar. not to mention the lowest amount of sugar found in a smoothie was 58 grams. I was very disappointed. I was over charged twice. My first time there I was told any substitute for a flavor would be free. I substituted pineapple for mango and was up charged for it. I also had ordered the quesadilla which was also good but when you order a meal it is suppose to mark the smoothie down to $3 and they never did that. That happen on 2 occasions... after mentioning it they said oh just keep your receipt we will make it up next time. Overall they are nice and the food is okay.
