It was towards the end of the day, and it felt like the staff here didn't want anyone hanging out, all of the seats were packed up for the day, and they weren't closing for an hour. RUN, do not walk, from this location. The first thing you notice is the smell of vomit (?) like you're walking down Bourbon Street. The next thing you see is the most glaringly unhygienic staff - no gloves, no washing hands, hair everywhere. So as I'm taking in the stench, and watching the staff i wouldn't trust with my garbage collection, I turned on my heels and left. I feel bad for people who use the delivery without seeing the condition their food was prepared in. No parm crisps AGAIN, the lettuce is brown and looks rotten- and they didn't ask us what sides we wanted, husband had to ask..., who is in charge there? Nobody apparently. Disappointing as usual. I was a regular customer at this location for years, my go to smoothie is the Bahama Mama. Well I stopped by after work today and when I got back to my car and tasted the drink, it tasted very watered down (as if they added too much Ice). I didn't want to go back in and say anything, I really don't like to complain about anything. but I did and they made a new one. Everything seemed good, until I got back to my car again and tasted it, this time it tasted even more watered down than the first one. I went back in explaining that it tastes like mostly ice, (at this point I was sure it was just a simple misunderstanding or something, maybe she thought that there wasn't enough ice . She agreed to remake it again, I was watching this time cause I was curious, she filled almost the entire pitcher up with ice, and put very little fruit or anything else in it, at this point I was 100% positive that she was deliberately trying to mess with me. I'm posting this review in hopes that somebody in management looks into these girls who are working the night shift over there, this is ridiculous and horrible customer service, it's Friday June 21st, 2024 , I was there at around 8PM, not sure what the girls names were, but this is ridiculous. I don't usually type reviews, but this one I thought was definitely worth typing, I'm never coming here again, I was a regular for years. The last thing I want to do after working a 12 hour shift is to have to come in and out of Tropical Smoothie Cafe 5 times , and to have the employees deliberately gas lighting me over a smoothie. My daughter and two of her friends walked into Tropical Smoothie at 8:50pm tonight in Barnstable. The worker told them they are closed. My daughter stated online it said they closed at 9pm. The worker then stated "Your really going to kill me and make me do this right now!" I understand they were closing in 10 minutes, even if they didn't want to make the smoothies, she didn't have to be so rude. Hopefully, management will help improve their customer service. read more

Was searching for a place to get açaí bowls on the cape and was appalled by the service and quality. To say the least the service was scary I felt unsafe and uncomfy in there. I ordered the classic açaí bowl and the base was so frozen you could not even get a spoon into it and the toppings that were on there tasted as though they had been left out all day, there was no coconut on my bowl as well and the granola was very clumpy and hard. read more

Definitely feels like airport food. The menu is very overpriced for the quality. While the smoothies are large, if you are going for something healthy this isn't the way to go. The bathrooms are also closed due to covid which seems sort of like a cop out. We paid $22 for two smoothies and a half sandwich. The manager (not the woman who rung us up) came back to say we still owed $2.30 for a single banana after the other woman forget to charge us? We were never offered a receipt, so who really knows. For starters, this is insanely overpriced airport food. Ordered a wrap and a smoothie. Entire wrap was wrong. Was given a shrimp wrap and I am allergic. I called the store and the lady on the phone said "ok and what do you want me to do about that...?."...Then I went to the store to pick up the wrap I PAID FOR, and I had to wait for 30 minutes while all the employees ran around like chickens with their heads cut off. No management. No trained employees. No one knows whats going on. Won't be returning here. read more

Sugar - added to a healthy smoothie???? You read the list of ingredients, but oh wait, in very fine, tiny print that most people can't read it says the sugar is Turbano or something like that. I came in for a healthy shake (Green one too) and oh my surprise when I tasted it - it had to have had at least 6 tsp. of sugar in it, if not more. When I questioned the kid about it his response was "Oh yea, we add sugar, it's somewhere up there on the board". Well it's not clear enough. You list all the ingredients except sugar - watch out diabetics. This is a blood sugar nightmare waiting to happen. read more

I was short on time and ordered online for pickup for my lunch break. I ordered the Hummus Veggie Wrap after hearing a lot of praise about it from my colleagues. As I was leaving, one of my colleagues asked if I could pick her up an orange ginger glow smoothies. No problem! I drove there which took less than 10 minutes and parked. My online order wasn't quite ready, but that was fine. I got in line (about 4 people in front of me) and it moved quicker than I expected. I explained I was ordering an additional smoothie but had placed an online order and then I moved off to the side. My online order came out a few minutes later but I still didn't have the smoothie. So I waited... and waited... and waited... and waited. After over 15 minutes, I was getting aggravated. There was one person at the cashier and 5 or 6 people working in the back, not too unreasonable. I was there 20 minutes total and missed my lunch break so I had to have a working lunch. The wait time was absurd. Especially for something relatively small. They get three stars cause the wrap was pretty good, although I found a few wilted, browned pieces of lettuce that I pulled out and my co-worker LOVED her smoothie. I'm willing to try it again, but ONLY if it's through an online order. read more

My pick up was scheduled for 11:45am, I get there at 11:45 and my order wasn't even ready until 25 minutes later. I get back to work and my order was totally wrong! And the smoothie was very watery. I ordered a smoothie that had kale, pineapple, mango, and banana, I don't like bananas so I substituted peaches, they were so accommodating and it tasted great!!!! The size of the smoothie is so worth the money. I also ordered the turkey Apple club without bacon, it was delicious!!!! The decor is clean, bright, and very summery. The staff was so nice and kind. The staff here is not very friendly, and seems detached from the rest of the restaurant. I have been here multiple times and still am waiting for a smile. The smoothies are extremely high in calories but only decent tasting. Very limited menu besides the smoothies, which are rather expensive. From the enticing smoothie descriptions and the high prices, I was expecting a healthy drink made with real fruits that are blended with real yogurt. What I got was a sickly sweet frozen concoction with artificial fruit flavor and color, and just a hint of yogurt.
