I was working from home and thought an afternoon smoothie sounded nice. I very rarely order a smoothie, and initially went to Doordash to see what could be delivered (I know, I know...) At any rate, after seeing how outrageous it was going to be to have Smoothie King deliver to my home, I realized that Tropical Smoothie Cafe was literally a 2 minute drive away so I downloaded their app, customized my smoothie, and literally had it in my hands in probably five minutes. I opted to have all extra sugars removed, which I think I do at Smoothie King as well, but it tasted a lot healthier here - not bad, just a bit less sweet than I was expecting. That being said, I think I'm still on my journey to finding my ideal smoothie, but I did enjoy it, and I thought the order ahead and pick up feature worked really well. I love Tropical Smoothie. We were on that side of town, my daughter wanted a milk shake, I convinced her to get a smoothie as a treat to myself. It is something I have not been able to afford with this economy. It was a treat. When I ordered, I told the young woman at the counter that I always get the same thing. I find something I like and never try anything else. SO Blimey Limey it was. When it came to the table is was BARELY pink. I told my daughter that I bet it would be nothing but ice by the time I made it half way. Then I took a drink. There was BARELY, BARELY a flavor. Just a slight hint of strawberries. I did not taste lime or pineapple, for that matter orange AT ALL!! I went to the counter and asked if they could put a little more flavoring in it. I am not sure if it was the manager or the owner who told me it was made right--she did not watch the girl make it--and it was made to order. I showed her the barely pink almost white drink and said there is no flavor. She argued and said she would put more sugar in it. I asked her why I would want more sugar? Seriously folks do we order sugar ice when we go for something with a bit of healthy in it. I told her I did not want more sugar, I would be happy with a little more pineapple, orange something so it had flavor. She again told me she could put more sugar in it. I have worked my whole life in service oriented sales. I managed bars and restaurants when I was younger. Offer to make it AGAIN, BUT PUT MORE SUGAR IN IT? WHO WANTS THAT?? I could have had cake, or that milk shake or a snow cone, if I wanted MORE SUGAR. Or I could have saved $18 and gotten a coke at Mc D's!! This visit ruined my taste for TS. I will investigate who owns this franchise and NEVER give them my money again. I had a great experience with online ordering today at tropical smoothie cafe! I place my order 10 minutes before arriving and everything was ready when I pulled up. They have everything set aside on their online/doordash counter to make it easy and quick so you don't have to talk to anybody. The cafe offers a great combo deal where you can add a smoothie for $5 to your meal and you can't go to tropical smoothie cafe without getting a smoothie (let's be honest.) I loved my chipotle chicken flatbread was fresh and very tasty! They have a ton of options for sides and for a $1 up charge you can get the kale salad or sweet potato wedges. I've been to this location 4 times now, I believe. Each time we've been, the service is apathetic. This is not a lack of employees; I believe there have been no fewer than 3 each time we've been. Rather, it's the attitude and, unfortunately, I think that can be a reflection of ownership. To this point, we had a pretty negative experience last night--for several reasons. I generally don't complain until there are 3 things that have happened. I also tend to believe that an owner would want to know as that is generally a driver of business--and not in a positive manner. After submitting my review to corporate last night, which is then routed to the franchisee level, here is part of the response I received: "Concerning your feedback on the smoothies we assure you there is no rind in the watermelon mojito. Every effort is made to provide the freshest ingredients with all our smoothies. I understand we may not be able to meet your needs and for that I apologize." I almost wish there rind in the watermelon mojito smoothie; that would have honestly explained the flavor, or complete lack thereof. Fortunately, we have many choices in our area, and I'd honestly pay more for a better tasting product. Service can vary from time-to-time--it is what it is. Ownership that clearly states, in their response, that they apologize and are probably just not a good fit is reinforcing what I already knew. It was very tasty, with a fair amount of white chicken and delicious flatbread. Several sides options were available including choice of chips, kale apple slaw, orange, apple, or banana. Love Tropical Smoothie, but not this location. When a drink comes with the lime straw, it should be a given. Arguing about it and then saying we need to pay for them when it specifically says on the website that the edible lime straw comes with the mango drink! No problem though, we just took our 4-6 drink order (every day Mon-Fri) plus tip somewhere else. No need to be embarrassed in front of other people over a straw that comes with a drink. read more

The quality and taste of the food was good. Everyone was happy. However, service is slow. The place was only staffed with two people during lunch. This made all orders very slow. Additionally you have online orders coming in the same time as in-store orders. I witnessed very many frustrated customers who waited longer than they should have. To the owner, staff at least 3 people during lunch rush, if not four. I'm still waiting 20 minutes for a smoothie for someone in my party. read more

I ordered from Tropical Smoothie through Foodsby. One of the best things I have ever ordered for a delivery at work. Some of the other restaurants sell things that don't travel well or are too $ for me. Their quesadilla with salsa was delicious/survived delivery and was in great shape when it arrived. Just the right size for lunch and priced appropriately. I almost did not order the smoothie but I am glad I did. I make a lot of smoothies at home that are creamy. This was kind of a cross between creamy and slushy. It was a gigantic size and it was nice to have something to sip on that lasted me the whole afternoon. This spot has been several things just in the decade I've lived behind the shopping center. I really hope this one sticks. I have been scoping out the more local healthy spots recently in preparation for the "lose weight" New Years resolution. I am super stoked that within walking distance of most of my favorite donut shops, there is now a smoothie bar. I ordered the orange ginger smoothie for some pep and I was not disappointed. One sip and my eyebrows went straight up towards my hairline. The smoothie should be renamed to Hello Ginger! But I love ginger and the ginger is why I wanted it (recent joint pain). So I am super pleased with my choice. The ladies working the counter were super nice, super fast, and my favorite part: they cleaned as they went. Nothing speaks more to my senses than people who know clean as they go. And smoothies especially because once smoothie debris starts to dry, it congeals like glue. The place still feels new so keep encouraging people to clean as they go otherwise the spiffy newness will go away real fast. I don't want my healthy options to not feel so healthy anymore. If the restaurant and employees are not clean, then I have no reason to believe the ingredients are fresh. So...keep it up and I'll see y'all soon! read more

My favorite it the Sunshine which has Mangoes, pineapple, banana and orange. You can easily leave out any ingredient that you don't like. I frequent this place approximately 2-3 times a week. I came in around 5 on this stores second day open, they had a deal for 1.99 smoothies which they makes right in front of you with fresh fruit. My smoothie was 24 oz and absolutely refreshing - I got the pomegranate plunge. I also ordered a Chipotle Chicken Flatbread that came out hot in only 2 or 3 minutes. This place is really good. Went here for the first time today had the Beach Bum smoothie with what protein and dark chocolate. One of the best smoothies I've ever had!
