We were told the existing siding would be removed before new siding was installed. However, they installed the new siding over the existing siding. We decided to leave it, but it was not what was originally agreed upon. They also took over 2 months to complete our siding because "another customer had an emergency." They stopped midway through the project. When they finally resumed work, we had no prior notice that they would be coming back. Our association required us to paint the siding a specific color. Once the siding was complete, there was no follow up on painting. So much time passed, that we had to submit a new request to the association for us to paint. Once the new request was submitted to our association, we had to put a deposit for the paint. Over 4 months passed before they even began work. When the painters did show up, we had no prior notice. Do NOT use this company. Communication is terrible and they do not follow through with what is promised/agreed upon. read more

The Tropical Wholesale team recently completed the renovation of both of our bathrooms from tub to shower-pan in just 7 days, including a holiday! It was actually 6 days and the plumber just installed the fixtures on the 7th day. On time (even early), professional, and tidy as they always cleaned up well after each day. Floors were always carefully covered. I am including "before-during-after" pictures with the end result looking exactly as advertised. We have been enjoying the new convenience of not having to step over a tub and risk slipping which will become a factor when I am older. The safety bars, shelves, and soap dish were included and placement was up to us. Thank so much to owner Matt and the team: Derek, Steve, and Derek's son (sorry, missed his name) who worked so hard for 7 days. We contacted Matt concerning replacing our vinyl siding, since we saw them at a better business show. According to the better business they were excellent so we decided to get vinyl siding from Tropical Wholesale. Along the way we knew we also needed new windows, but basic support structures for our house were destroyed. We had a 4 x 4 post that was rotten and destroyed by terminates and other parts of other window frames that were completely rotten by water damage. Matt said he could replace the windows before replacing the vinyl side. Lastly, we went all in and had them replace our roof with an aluminum metal roof since I thought this type of roof we be more secure in a hurricane and very first resistance. So the job was a big one, lots of remodeling. What impressed me about Matt and tropical windows was along the way we encountered lots of problems and Matt's carpenters were able to fix them. Including replacing our rotten 4 x 4 post without a side of our house collapsing. After each major remodeling component (window replace and frame/post replacement), roof replace, vinyl side replace and even cutter, Matt would say is anything wrong, anything else we should do. I didn't expect that. Because if we said yes, it would cost him money to do more work. He was very concerned that we would be happy with their work. We are completely satisfied with Tropical Wholesale after they replaced 13 jalousie windows in our house with double slider, end vent slider, and double hung windows. These new windows really add to the elegant look of our home. Mike clearly explained our selection options, installation procedures, and how they could replace sections of old, rotting window frames. I just cleaned the windows today and found out how easy it was to remove the windows screens from the inside of the house. I want to Thank and recognize the main window installer, Junior, who was just wonderful during the entire job. Junior contacted us a few days prior to the start date to go over the job's timeline, delivery of materials, and answer any questions I had. I am especially grateful that large sheets of clear plastic-like covering were taped over each window to be worked on, as this minimized any dust or small debris coming into the house. I was impressed with how professional Junior was - always courteous, keeping us updated on what area they would be working on next, and clearly explaining how each type of window worked. I signed a contract with Matt from Tropical Wholesale on December 2, 2024 to redo my shower. I had contacted Jacuzzi and apparently Tropical Wholesale is the local contractor. At that time I paid a down payment of $8000. After numerous calls about the installation date, I was finally scheduled for February 25, 2025, over two months later. When I finally got through, a women kept saying thank you for returning my calls but she had never once contacted me about installation by text, email or by phone. Matt will talk you out of what you really envision, such as black fixtures, maximum stall size or glass doors. Read the fine print and insist on what you want and make sure the size of the stall is what you want. Matt never took measurements and ordered a shower pan that decreased my stall size, a decrease that was reported to him by the construction crew. He ordered them to proceed. I was never was given the option to use a larger pan. When I brought this up to Matt, we got into a very heated argument, which I considered very unprofessional. Of course he apologised the next day through a text which was not accepted especially since he made disparaging remarks about me and my wife. The construction crew finished the installation on February 26 and the following day, February 27, Matt texted me and threatened me with legal litigation if I didn't pay my final payment. That was uncalled for because I always pay my bills. I fulfilled the contract and paid my debt. read more

After 5 months, we finally got two of our broken windows repaired. My understanding is that Tropical is a contractor that install windows. The warranty is from a window manufacturing company that doesn't want to cover the labor cost for Tropicals repair work. I had my windows installed about 1 /12 years ago with Tropical Wholesale. I still love them and find that the customer service is excellent with them. One of my screens clips snapped when I was washing the windows just recently and I didn't know how to fix it. Matt, himself came to my house and replace two clips and put the window screens back on my window. He was very courteous and professional. (unless you trained him this way - than shame on you). He wrote up a quote and expected me to commit immediately or pay a higher price later. I told him previously, (trying to be upfront), that I was getting a number of estimates to replace all my windows, and he basically threatened to charge me more if I didn't take his first bid! What?? I wish there were six stars for rating this local business. I can't say enough about them--especially the work crew of Derek, Steve and Joe--who worked quickly and neatly to install the first of two bathroom renovations. The demolition and installation, as well as cleanup, were done professionally and with great care. We're now joking that we have to upgrade the rest of our house to match the new shower stall and fixtures. A second bathroom shower is waiting for renovation in a few weeks awaiting some material enroute. The backing for the shower walls is " plyboard screwed (not nailed) into 2x4 studs in the wall--so we think the shower stall can double as our hurricane shelter. My mother purchased windows and sliding glass doors from this company a few years ago, for the entire house. Within a year two of the sliding glass doors developed a residue between the window panes that is impossible to get to without destroying the doors. Despite talking to Matt MULTIPLE times, several years later we have had no resolution. He reassured her many times that the problem would be fixed and the doors replaced, but nothing has been done. I contacted the owner (Matt) of the window company since it is still covered under warranty, but the owner did not want to deal with it. A few months later the owner decided to take care of the window as long as I take out the bad review I posted. According to the owner he called us a HOSTILE CUSTOMERS because of the review we posted. Spoke on the phone with Matt and he gave us quite a bit of information. I scheduled an appointment with him for Monday at 4 PM and he was a no-show and did not call. Called his office later that day and rescheduled an appointment for the next day at 4 PM. Another no-show and no call. I also note that their showroom on S. Beretania is supposed to be open until 5 PM on weekdays. I drove there on Wednesday or Thursday of last week, arriving at 4:15. Their front door was locked. We hung about a few minutes then left. We then saw someone inside turn off the "OPEN" sign before 5 PM. Very unprofessional. Windows are too expensive for me to consider dealing with a company that cannot perform rudimentary customer service. read more

Had our bathroom and 7 windows done, work crew 2 guys did a great job installing bathroom and windows, window frames looks great lots of compliments form neighbors, screens materials at closer inspection sub par at the most screen frames flimsy not what I expected from a $20,000.00+ job had one screen torn at the bottom track damaged, called Mike Haur son of owner come by to take a look and agreed that it needs to be taken care of. One month later reached back to find out the status of repair was told by Mike H. to complain and call office to insist on immediate repair which I told him sounded strange being it a family business called spoke with owner Matt Haur who sounded concerned and more than helpful in resolving the issue which was done professionally by worker Jr. very pleased with repair thank u Matt and Jr. payment issues with Mike H. stopping by to check out how job was going which took him about 30 sec. then coming down stairs and saying came to p/u balance for bathroom $6400.00 no phone caa ahead of time so I could go to the bank to get check, had to rush to the bank while he said he'll wait till I returned. Done renovations done to our home with no inconvenience, this experience very unprofessional with payment collection needs more training in customer relations if we decide to do business with said company prefer to do business with Matt H. not Mike H. We used Tropical Wholesale to install vinyl siding on our then home in 2007. At first, it looked pretty good, all nice and new. Fast forward to 2018. We have since moved and this place is now a rental. Some of the panels have cracked and fallen. Color is faded, extremely so in some spots. A house across the street that has had their vinyl siding even longer, and it still looks good. A contractor came to look at the house and recommended that we either remove the vinyl or paint over it. Now that is sad. We contacted Tropical Wholesale because this product was sold as having a "lifetime warranty". Well, we will never be able to check on this warranty because when we called them, they told us we had to email some other mystery department. This mystery department never responded despite multiple attempts. And calling Tropical Wholesale did nothing because they would again tell us to email this department. Who knows if that department even exists. So if you every use Tropical, be aware that once you sign that last check, you might be relegated to that mystery email department. Mike came to do an estimate that ended with I don't have a brochure for you to study; here's my 40 minute power point presentation; I don't measure windows; here's my estimate; BUT I do have a copy of the contract we can sign because if I come back my price will go up! He spent more time telling us what they don't do (like the competition) rather than what they can do. I asked him several times to stop and sell me his product. He did not like that at all. He did not look at a single window in our home and said that they were so good that he could be cocky and didn't need our business. His father, Matt, the owner, called soon after he left wanting to know how Mike did. Interesting, right?! He acknowledged that they were the best and been in business for so many years. Matt offered to come out and do another estimate. He didn't seem to hear that his son's cocky sales technique was a turn off.
