The space is pretty open and streamlined for people moving through, though it can get somewhat congested depending on how many people are waiting. Service was great, they were able to answer any questions that we had and help with suggestions for what to get. Despite the congregation, things moved quickly and we were able to get our drinks pretty quickly then continue on our walk through the area.

Once you order, you get a number if you're eating in and can grab cutlery, water cups/water, and look for a seat. There is also a good restroom that was clean. We sat on one of the bigger tables/benches and our order came in about 7 minutes. Here's what we ordered: +Veggie quiche: One of the best items we had. Loved the flaky pie crust and how big it was. The quiche was delicious and came with a small side salad. +Ham and cheese croissant: A good croissant. Loved the everything bagel-like seasoning on top. I think this being warmed up would go the extra mile. +/-Ricotta and jam toast: The toast was good here. But the ricotta/jam were a little bland. Would have benefitted from a little more of a bold flavor to help give it a distinctive taste. -Iced matcha latte: We also ordered the iced matcha latte. They didn't have almond milk so opted for oat milk. Unfortunately this was the weakest item we had personally. The oat milk was a bit too strong and combined with the matcha used, it left with a bit of a strange aftertaste. Parking wasn't too hard as it was in a pretty big parking lot. I've walked by many times and a friend finally took me in - she told me that many of the restaurants in Healdsburg use teas from Russian River Tea Company. My friend has tried many of the loose leaf teas offered. I really liked the one we tried - we had it iced - and now I'm forgetting the name...was it Tropical Breeze, or Island Breeze, or something to do with Hawaii? I'll have to return and report back. There's a lot packed into the small space. They offer tea towels, tea pots, insulated mugs, local chocolates, some clothing items, and more. Take a peak in the next time you walk by, and hopefully you'll find a tea and and other little treasures to brighten your day.

We celebrated my birthday at Troubadour in Healdsburg, and it was such a memorable experience. The restaurant is small and intimate, with a cozy atmosphere that almost feels like you've stepped into a tiny French restaurant. It makes the whole evening feel personal and special. The tasting menu was creative, beautifully presented, and full of amazing flavors. Every course felt thoughtful, with playful and unexpected details throughout the meal. The caviar course was a standout, the fish was beautifully prepared, and dessert was just as delicious as it was gorgeous. We enjoyed a lovely glass of Sancerre with our meal, which complemented everything beautifully. What I loved most was how Troubadour manages to feel elevated without feeling stuffy. It's intimate, charming, creative, and incredibly cozy -- a really special little spot in Healdsburg. Such a wonderful birthday dinner and definitely an experience I'll remember. read more

This place is so special in that way that you kind of don't want to share it, it feels like a well kept secret. Totally unassuming (which only adds to the allure) this small limited seating space is right on the main strip in Downtown Healdsburg, but you could easily pass it by. It lacks pretension or the airs of what this level of articulated cuisine could yield. There is confidence, but not arrogance to the staff, ambiance and food, even the bathroom doesn't take itself too seriously. The entire experience from beginning to end exceeded all expectations, I'd give it 6 stars if I could. Highly recommend, before everyone else blows it out, it's deserving, so I would hope it's only a matter of time before you can't land a last minute reso like we did. read more

If I could give this restaurant a million stars, I absolutely would! We did the Library Experience at Troubadour and it was nothing short of phenomenal. From the moment we arrived, everything was flawless -- the food was exceptional, the wine pairings were spot-on, and the private room created such a memorable, intimate vibe. Getting to choose our own music made the evening feel even more personal and special. Every detail was clearly thought out with care and creativity. I really wanted to like this bakery, but it was a huge disappointment. The baguette was completely flavorless and unsalted -- not what you'd expect for $5 baguette. For that price, it should at least be organic or have some real craftsmanship behind it. The $20 ham sandwich was even worse -- thin slices of processed, store-bought meat drenched in an artificial honey-sugar glaze, with butter that tasted fake. Overall, the quality doesn't come close to matching the high prices. Definitely not worth the money. read more

We were only able to get a 5:15 pm reservation on a Saturday night, which was somewhat unusual because the outdoor patio and interior were only about half full. Maybe they allow for walk-ins so I suggest that if you want a later reservation like 7 pm that you try a walk-in instead. It was my husband's 67th birthday, which I indicated on the reservation, and they had a customized menu for him, birthday card, and welcome cocktail of champagne. The service was prompt and very friendly and we started with PEI mussels, served with Costeaux Sourdough Baguette (slightly charred), Poblano Peppers, Roasted Leeks, Heirloom Tomato Broth and Petite Fenne, which was hearty and really delicious ($24). The manager also provided complimentary homemade bread with a black sea salt that you could sprinkle on top, We brought a nice bottle of Robert Young cab and the corkage was $25, which is very reasonable. Husband got the prime Kobe New York steak loin ($63) and was disappointed that it was only half of a normal New York. It came with Brentwood Yellow Corn, Potato Croquette, Perigord Truffle Butter, Bone Marrow and Sauce Bordelaise. He ordered it rare and it was served appropriately. I ordered the bone in Duroc pork loin ($42) served with Yellow Wax Beans, Shishito, Bacon Jam, Parmesan Frico and Jimmy Nardelo Peperonata, which was very tasty. I should have indicated medium rare as it was a little more overcooked than I would like. The accompanying polenta cake and peppers were a delicious compliment. We decided not to have dessert, but they brought us a Snickers dessert for his birthday on the house. It came with Cocoa Tuille, Peanut Powder, Sea Salt and Burnt Caramel and was super yummy. I would definitely go back, highly recommend. The clientele in the restaurant were not super snobby and seemed like locals and regular people out for a good meal.

I didn't like thinking about how a somewhat skimpy salad equals out to $20. I think it sounds a bit better to say it's a $100 experience, which sounds like a better way to explain it. This was a fun experience and I enjoyed most of the items but I would not do this again. I feel some of the courses were a little lack luster and I would rather spend a bit more to do a different experience somewhere else.

We ordered the corn ice cream. My wife asked if it was salted. The waiter said it wasn't and it was, but he did not charge us. We also had the tres leches cake, which was quite nice. They had two beers on tap, A Pilsner by Russian River and an IPA by someone else (I do not recall who). Neither struck my fancy, but I had a very nice hazy IPA in a can. We paid about $150 with tip and tax for an appetizer, two mains, two coctails and a beer. The next morning, I asked my wife how soon we could go back.

We started with the steak tartare (which I almost always order from any restaurant) it was seasoned well with the classic accompaniments and tasty cornichons on the side, we also got a half order of the Acme epi baguette with their house-cultured butter. For entrées we opted for the Ragoûts de Fruits de Mer as well as the Truite du Mont. Lassen. Both were SO flavorful I couldn't choose between the two for a favorite. There were plenty of mussels and clams and the flavors melded perfectly with the pancetta and cannellini beans in the bowl. The trout was perfectly cooked with crispy skin, but I felt the filet of the fish was terribly small. Service that evening was nothing special, but was still a nice evening in Glen Ellen.
