This place is fun to check out every now and then -- you can find some great designer pieces, and the home decor section is tiny but packed with cute knick knacks. I found 2 postmodern-style vases there for cheap. Having said that, the customer service is non-existent bordering on rude. Mostly kids in their twenties who don't seem concerned with customer service at all. This is disappointing because part of the joy of secondhand shopping is that the employees are usually just as excited about the pieces as you are -- not bored and disaffected. They also don't provide clear guidelines on what they buy, even when asked. I've brought some beautiful designer pieces that have been rejected, only to see the racks containing ANCIENT designer pieces that are out of style or objectively ugly, and lots of cheap fast fashion like Zara and Forever 21. The obsession with overpriced Zara in secondhand stores needs to stop. The prices are also all over the place and seem to be based simply on what the person working that day felt like. You never really know what you're going to get, and there is no negotiating. If you're a label-focused shopper you might have luck. But overall there are a lot better "upscale" secondhand stores in LA with better prices and customer service. read more

BEST CONSIGNMENT STORE EVER. BEST CLOTHING STORE PERIOD!!! We came all the way from the Bay Area and spent over 2 hours in the store! I've been here twice and can say they have the best quality clothes, shoes, and designer items. Trove had exactly what I was looking for And they were 50% off lapel pins and brooches. I love to thrift when I travel, esp if I don't have time for much of anything else on a business trip. I went to another shop down the street first, which wasn't a success - much smaller. Walked here, and wow, it did not disappoint. Lots of clothes in all the sizes, shoes, and jewelry. Found a fab pair of designer mules lightly worn, and lots of clothes - some higher end stuff at less pricey prices and some lower tier brands but still expensive when regular price. Several of the things I got still had price tags from the real stores. Had a surprise night at Disney Hall to see the L.A. Phil and walked out of Trove with a jacket and mules to turn my black jeans and tshirt into a mighty sharp outfit. Will always come back when in town. read more

Rather than give away my clothes I'm going to bring it here since they give you 40% of the amount and they keep 60% that's better than nothing! They have a parking lot so you can park for free. Found this place on a recommendation from my friend. My daughter seems to like it a lot, there's a lot of really low priced stuff and then some more exclusive stuff that starts around 100 bucks apiece. There's a very small selection of men's shirts and pants, a good selection of glassware, dishes, and appliances, and if you're looking for some funky, one-of-a-kind stuff one thing that caught my eye was a baccarat crystal bowl for $50. Also a good selection of shoes, hats, skirts, blouses, tops. They greeted us warmly at the door as we came in and the place is spotlessly clean. After consulting Yelp I came here last week and didn't pay attention to the fact that there was free parking and put a couple coins in a meter which didn't allow me nearly enough time here. I left and went to another shop which was a total disappointment and decided I'd make it back here since I'd be in town another week. So glad I came back because I found the employees to be super friendly and there's plenty of room to browse and such a variety of clothing, bags, great jewelry and beautiful housewares. I left with gifts for everyone and thought the prices were excellent. This is now a must visit when I return to stay in Culver City again. After showing my purchases to the people I was staying with I shared my new treasure trove with him so his wife and her Mama can visit when she's in town. Trove is one of the best consignment stores out there. It has a wide variety of women's clothing (the men's section is a little small) and a huge variety of jewelry and home items. Interesting experience at this story yesterday. Upon walking in, I was greeted by the sound of an employee talking loudly on the phone, apparently dealing with a customer who bought a "faux" designer item sold at authentic price. Ultimately told the customer she was too busy to deal with this issue. Not a great start. Overall selection & pricing were both decent though I didn't have much luck for myself. What stood out was a fake Hermès bag, in used condition with visible stain, priced at $100+ dollar, complete with a security tag. I bought a sweater at 50% off and missing the middle button, so I'll have to have it repaired, and upon checkout I saw ... consignment cosmetics. Including a mini secret deodorant and USED and unsealed mouthwash for $3.99. Reviews seem mixed but any store selling used mouthwash and stained knockoffs is... not one for me. read more
