From the maître d' to the staff to the chefs, the entire evening was 5 stars! One of the highlights was sitting at the chef's counter and watching the talented team at work. It was clear that Chef Lindsey puts tremendous care, creativity, and precision into every plate. From the thoughtfully balanced flavors to the artistic plating and sauces, every course felt intentional and beautifully executed. I especially appreciated how Chef Lindsey personally came out to introduce and explain each dish with genuine enthusiasm and passion. It added a personal touch that made the evening even more special. She even took into account my food allergies and crafted my dishes to avoid the nuts without sacrificing flavor or presentation. The entire two-hour experience was exceptional, and we would absolutely return. If you're looking for something different and memorable for a date night, anniversary, or simply a special evening out, I highly recommend making a reservation. What impressed me most was being able to enjoy a Michelin-star-caliber experience right here in Fort Lauderdale without having to travel to Miami, and at a very reasonable price. Every dish was a feast for both the eyes and the palate. As for constructive feedback (since Chef Lindsey welcomed it), the pasta in one course was slightly undercooked for our preference. Went for the Lunar New Year tasting. Food was very good. Place very pretty We were disappointed we couldn't sit at the chefs counter, even though it said "first come first served" they held those 2 seats for 2 women who came in long after us. The reason was that I put on the res that I do not eat cooked salmon, and there was no salmon on the tasting anyway, so the explanation did not make sense that we could not sit at the counter for that reason. It was my husband's birthday and I did state that on the reservation. Also, I think it would be more fun to come with a lot of people that you know because we had a very obnoxious man that was so loud you couldn't hear yourself talk and unfortunately, he was singing at the top of his lungs with all the songs they played. Kind of put a damper on the evening. Wine pairings were decent however they should have coursed it out with the white wines first and had the Pinot Noir with the wagyu as the last course we will try again in the future, but only with more people that we enjoy being with "Kudos to the chef and servers " read more

Finally decided to check out this restaurant, it's a great idea. Love that it's only 26 seating a night. You pay online up front ( which includes tip/tax/and services fees ). This is really great for group dinners, when the bill comes you just pay for any added drinks. So our night, guest chef was a below deck chef. We were very excited about the meal and plates, unfortunately the main course was a lobster risotto which was a miss. The rice was completely under cooked and I have a feeling they knew this since it was introduced as a rice dish. One of our steak was completely under cooked and noticeable since it was cut that way. It should have been cooked in the kitchen, it was noticeable. Service was well, staff was friendly. Overall it was an ok experience, for that kind of pricing food should have been better. read more

Many people may overlook this restaurant as it has a smaller footprint and is only open during select dates. However, I would encourage people to review the upcoming events to understand the plentiful, varied events. The event that we attended featured the following menu: Yellowfin Tuna Crudo-Tomato, tonnato, sourdough, mustard frills. Crispy Stuffed Squash Blossoms-Ricotta, aged balsamic, parmesan. Lobster Ravioli Tonkatsu-Kimchi, dashi, Calabrian chili, pine nuts. NY Tagliata-Arugula, soubise, duck fat-roasted potatoes, squash. Matcha Tiramisu-Elleven Vodka, espresso, mascarpone. Went for the first time there, Valentine's dinner, very nice! The place was decorated festively full of red roses (a little chilly as the A/C was blasting right above us). Thumbs up to their whimsically decorated washroom with pictures of famous Chefs. The food was delicious with explanations on every dish by the Chef on the ingredients, how it was conceived and executed... Very friendly service, staff makes you feel welcomed. we did the new year's eve tasting experience, so this review is probably most relevant for anyone doing future tasting menus. I've included a picture of the menu -- the cost was $200 per person and $45 for the pairings or you could do a la carte. The price felt very fair for a NYE 7 course menu. Pros: * the first four courses were fantastic, the attention to detail on each component felt very thought through. The oysters were the perfect amount of briny and the caviar was delicious, the carpaccio was some of (if not the) best i've ever had, the leek soup was perfection and the poached lobster was so buttery and portions were generous. * The chef was so personable and absolutely hilarious when presenting the dishes Cons/Inconsistencies from other reviews: * The experience was set to start at 9, they were still flipping tables and we didn't get in til about 9:10, seated til 9:15, and water til 9:25. Drinks took another ~15 minutes * They had one waitress & head of events for ~25 people. Water was inconsistently refilled and drinks were almost always gone before you were able to order another * The fish course was a little overcooked and missing the uni and we found the meat (while delicious) was a little unimaginative * I ordered a glass of wine midway through course 6 that was forgotten until the last course was served, and then the head of events came over to ask if i still wanted it. Just went for a Christmas party dinner. The private setting made you feel enthused and excited to have the opportunity to try food you would never have. The service was Awsome. Always a clean dish and silverware. Your water glass never ran dry. When you were done with the course they would remove all silverware and plate. Than replaced when the next dish came out. The chef explained the dish you were about to embark on. I'm a big guy thinking I would have to go out after for a snack but was mistaken. After all six plate a full course I was stuffed. Now on to the food. Every single bite you took was a little different than your last. Tasting some different with all the ingredients coming out. You sat there with the food in your mouth savoring it to the last morsel. This is a must to do when you are in this area. What a fun experience! Our friend held a private dining experience here at TRP Taste for her birthday. You can hold private events, but it is also open to the public when private events aren't taking place. It's a small and intimate environment - highly recommended for private parties! Would be great for birthdays, bridal or baby showers, etc. You can clearly see everything going on in the kitchen, which is pretty cool! Our chef was Lindsey Waters and she was fantastic. She and the team were super welcoming and attentive to every detail. I can't say a single bad thing about what we ate. The scallops were juicy and the flavor was outstanding. I loved the potato purée that accompanied it. The gnocchi was AMAZING. It's lighter than your traditional italian gnocchi but just as delicious. The salad was fresh and delicious - I would just have liked to see some more greens on there. The shortrib was EXQUISITE. wow!!!! The crème fraiche just brought it all together. I could have eaten another plate! The lemon tart was pretty good. I'm not big on dessert and if I choose dessert it's usually not anything lemony or tarte, but I was pleasantly surprised! On December 30, 2023, I, booked a dinner reservation on-line through Facebook for my wife and I for our 15 year anniversary at TRP Taste for a future date January 18, 2024. On January 14, 2024, I tested positive for COVID- 19. On January 16, 2024, my wife also tested positive for COVID-19. On January 16, 2024, I attempted to contact TRP Taste to let them know with the intention of not wanting to place the other patrons or staff at risk for catching the virus. TRP Taste failed to answer their phone. In fact, the email address they advertise renders communications undeliverable. Given the circumstances, I believe it is only fair to request a refund for the fees associated with the dinner reservation. Not only was I unable to enjoy the service and experience I had anticipated, but it appears that being a responsible citizen concerned about spreading a deadly virus to others is penalized, rather than appreciated. Unfortunately if you try to reach anyone at the contact information they provide you with on their website you will not reach anyone. Our credit card company also refused to refund the purchase, stating that TRP taste indicated that "goods were as described and received in good condition." How can one deduct that this is not credit card fraud? A refund or attempting to contact me would have also demonstrated that TRP Taste is not a public safety risk that encourages people to participate in their events (by refusing to refund fees) despite their diagnosis of a contagious virus. After our amazing 1st experience here a couple months ago, we went back and this time the star chef at the helm of this event was Chef Martin Verano...he took us on a 7 course, mostly seafood adventure using the freshest of local Florida ingredients. This place is espectacular, feels like the movies, you can seat at the counter facing the kitchen and the magic that happens in it. We came for a birthday party. The space is rented out to groups. We have 14 of us which was a great size. The executive chef for The Restaurant People was our chef of the evening and was talented with a fun personality. The waiter we had for the night was amazing. I had a special request and she remembered it all night and treated everyone so well. We had a 5 course meal and open bar for the evening. The cost was $150 per head which is very responsible for the quality we got. I would highly recommend and will want my next bday here!! read more

Went to dinner on Saturday and what an incredible experience. Sat on the counter of this intimate little space, with the chef cooking right in front of us. What a treat. Her name is Chef Lyndsey Waters-Soto and she knocked out socks off. The menu was French themed and every single course was delicious, from the fresh Niçoise salad, to the zucchini blossoms that my wife won't stop talking about, amazing bouillabaisse and a delectable torte for dessert. I had such a lovely evening here on our "Date night in Paris". We enjoyed a 5 course Persian prepared meal. The experience of dining here is fun as you sit at a community table with other guests to enjoy your meal. There is also the bar front seating where you can sit directly in front of the chefs as they prepare the dishes. Seating is first come first serve. Although the seating is a community table and its fun to interact with other dining guests, the dining table is wide enough where it was still rather intimate. Every dish was delicious ! We got to TRP taste to see one of our favorite chefs who was giving pop up dinner, but got hooked, totally mesmerized by an art of the Chef Chris Miracolo. Chris is like Picasso and uses food ingredients as his paint and creates culinary masterpieces so good that their taste linger in your mouth long after the dinner is over. We always look forward to his dinners, not just to enjoy the tastes but to always learn a few culinary tricks, as Chris is not shy and tirelessly answers "how" questions we ask. I recently had my wedding reception here and we had an AMAZING experience. Our family is still talking about the food, which was out of this world delicious. The service from Mario who was our server/bartender was above and beyond. He was so, so friendly and made us feel so special. All I said was I want a delicious drink vodka based and he was like I got you and delivered an amazing cocktail. He never left our glasses empty and continuously asked if anyone needed anything. They packaged up our cake and all of our personal items nicely and just everything was amazing. I've been here 6 times. Most of the tastings have been decent. But they started going downhill the last two times. Ridculously small portions, bland taste etc. Still, half of the other tastings were fine. This last time, the meal overall was poor. The appetizers were good. The filet of beef and the the pork entrees were awful. Cooked to the point of dryness and bland... The chef , was annoyed. OK It's insulting to have your food criticized so I get it. But the point was, we were there 6 times and this was the worst overall.. Then instead of making it right (The staff knew who we were , we have been there that often) the chef makes us ANOTHER filet , which is even worse than the first. It was a salt bomb. Then the maitre de, says he will make it right and then does absolutely nothing to remove a drink or offer anything even though we ate almost none of the meals. 150 dollars, per person plus 100 dollars for 2 to get the wine pairings, plus a decent tip ( the servers are not at fault) and the thanks we get are " you get the opportunity to see me again next time) . I'm not looking for a free meal. I'm looking for acknowledgement that they were sorry nd they will do better. I might not be the smartest bulb in the pack but I'm not the dullest. That is the last time they will see me or my friend or the nice two couples sitting next to us that felt exactly the same way after the first visit. It's gone way downhill and that is a shame. But for over a hundred dollars a person, look for better options than this. read more

I work in Sales for a major Wall Street bank. It was my pleasure to work closely with the team at The Restaurant People (TRP) to create a memorable, sophisticated client dining event while in Ft. Lauderdale for a conference (Feb 5th, 2019). TRP Taste is a unique private dining venue with seating for 26, which was perfect for our client entertainment needs. Several floors above it is a beautiful bar called Rooftop with fantastic city views and a trendy atmosphere. Matthew Walsh, Director of Events, handled all elements of our event expertly, making many thoughtful suggestions as he got to know me and my expectations. He attended to every detail such that I had no concerns on any level about the event. (Matthew also worked directly with my bank's Event Planning people on final details, which was perfect). In terms of the event, our guests were greeted by Eric and escorted to Rooftop, where we had our own private area, bartender and server for one hour. Liquor was top-shelf and the bar-tending and cocktail service as superb. They make the best Bourbon Old Fashioned on the planet! Our guests, financial professionals / investment managers, were able to enjoy the view and mingle in a sophisticated atmosphere. We were then escorted to TRP Taste on the first floor. Matthew set the stage for an 8 course dinner prepared by the Head Chef, Chris, who explained the details of each course. The open kitchen concept allows guests to interact with Chris, which was much fun. He was great with guests. The meal was interesting, creative, fun, and truly delicious! If you like fine, exquisite food, this is the venue. Again, this is a fun venue, not stuffy. The manager at TRP Taste, Andrea, was a truly experienced professional in every way. She interacted with me during the event to make sure all was well. She served the first three courses as passed (because people were up and mingling), and she made sure each guest was happy and felt attended to. We also had the same great bartender for the TRP taste portion of the event. After a fabulous meal, 12 guests came back to Rooftop where Matthew had reserved the fire-pit area for private cocktails, again with our own bartender and server for another hour of fun. What a way to end the evening! I cannot say enough good things about our experience. Our clients were extremely happy and my colleagues had the perfect setting for entertaining key clients. Lastly, their ability to coordinate across their several restaurants / venues is pretty unique and makes a difference. I have already booked TRP Taste and Rooftop for Feb 2020. I recently booked a private custom dinner at Taste as a client appreciation function and even though I've done numerous events in conjunction with Carrie and the TRP team, my lofty expectations were exceeded. They had an impressive spread of plates that even my super picky guests gave glowing reviews of, and they even provided a bartender to serve custom craft cocktails. I cannot say enough great things about the venue and staff, as all in all, it was a perfect event. I attended the dinner on 4/6/19. It was a 6-course eclectic meal. Overall it was a great experience, as other reviewers have said. My complaints are two-fold. First, my party of 4 had an awkward seating arrangement where we were not facing each other, making talking difficult. This would have been remedied if we showed up earlier, I guess, as seating is first come first served. My second issue is that I somehow was unlucky and 2 of my 6 courses were missing an ingredient. For example, the seafood dish of grouper cheeks, mussels and clams was missing clams! It was an oversight by the kitchen which probably could have been remedied easily, but I did not have the opportunity to tell anyone about the missing ingredients as no one came by after the course was served to ask "how is it?" I still enjoyed the experience and felt that I got to try several unique dishes that I would not otherwise have been able to try. read more
