My husband and I love this place. We come almost every Sunday for beer and chicken wings. Everything always tastes excellent. The servers are wonderful and kind. The atmosphere is laid-back and chill. It is the perfect spot for a leisurely afternoon. We also just got a puppy, and they have such a welcoming atmosphere for pups. Noticed this burger joint on my way to a doctor's appointment and decided to try it out after going on yelp and seeing it had pretty decent reviews. I ordered my burger, medium rare and it came out very well done and I mean well done, completely dry. Being somebody that normally doesn't send food back and then eat the food that is then brought back out, I finished half my burger and the waitress came up and asked me how it was. I pointed out to her that it was very well done and told her it was dry. She explained that "the kitchen just got a new grill a couple weeks ago and they're trying to figure it out". I understand that may take some time but it does not take a couple weeks for a good cook to figure out the temperature on a grill. And really shouldn't matter because it's all off the feel of the burger and experience of the cook. But then I got my check and she applied a little bit of a discount just over five dollars. I expressed to her that I don't feel I should have to pay for a burger that was completely dry and not cooked correctly. She understood and took the check away came back and wouldn't you know I was in charge full price for the onion rings I did eat and my iced tea, both understandable but the full price onion rings was about 60% of what the burger and onion rings cost. This location has ample seating both indoors and outside. It is great to see a vegan option on the menu!!! I got the impossible burger with onions tomato and pickles. We also got the fried avocado as an appetizer. Everything was very good. This is a good start but I think the restaurant could do more to entice vegans and those seeking more plant-based options. Looks like cheese if free on burgers - why not offer a vegan cheese or avocado in place of dairy? Vegan mayo? How about a vegan salad with chickpeas or tofu? You could go all out like Picasso's and pita jungle and have a whole vegan menu! The service was slow, but it was overall a good experience. I just want to say I wish you guys the best I don't understand how somebody can give you two dollar signs tho? This place is super expensive for a hamburger. This is like San Francisco prices, but when you're serving this kind of beef one expect $$$$ for sure . But we also expect that food to be hot and I know when I was there year ago my food was not hot either. I'm not sure what's going on, but the flavor seems OK but yeah service super slow and dull ish. Service is "hit and miss." On our last visit we were promptly seated. We waited 25 minutes and did not have a single person acknowledge us at our table of 4. We sat and sat. We saw 4 staff, each went straight to one table, then quickly turned and left for the kitchen. So, we left after 25 minutes of being totally neglected. Also, when we sat down, we saw 2 other tables (both were tables of 2) that had ordered and had drinks; and when we got up to walk out both of the tables were still waiting for their food. One couple said they wish they could leave too, but they needed to pay for their drinks first. We decided to give it a third try since our first visit was amazing and our second visit was mediocre. The salads on our third visit were outstanding. Fresh and plentiful. I'd give them a 10 out of 10 all day as would my husband. He had the pear salad and I had the Mediterranean salad and they both were fantastic. My only recommendation is that if the bartender is going to have to wait tables assign tables close to the bar for them. We ordered our salads and waited. We were the first customers arriving at about 11:10 on a Sunday. We ordered within 2 minutes of arriving because we already knew what we wanted. Others who arrived after us started getting their burgers and fries, but we still didn't have our salads. Around 11:50 the bartender came out to take another order and we called her over to inquire about our salads that we had ordered more than a half hour ago. She said they take some time because the chicken has to be cooked. She walked into the kitchen and brought the salads out immediately. I just feel that it's difficult for anyone to manage the bar and check on customer's and their orders. Thus my recommendation to seat her customers closer to the bar. My family and I traveled from Buckeye to meet our friends from Prescott at this establishment. There was 7 of us, and we were all excited to sit down and enjoy a meal together. We opted to sit outside since it was convenient and there were patio heaters. The server took some time to come out & greet us, but we didn't mind as we were occupied with catching up and talking. As we place our orders we asked the server to turn on the heaters, which she did. About 15 minutes later the exterior window popped and glass shattered; we assumed it was from the heat of the lamp as it was about 2 inches away. The hostess happened to be outside to witness, our serve came out and moved it a few feet away. We asked if she could turn it back on and her reply was "really?" 20 mins went by with no acknowledgment from this server. We finally waved her down to ask if everything was ok and she said "well your kid knocked the heater into the window and broke it. Why would it be ok". We were all shocked and appalled by her response. Our kids were nose deep in their tablets. We asked for refills and she was VERY RUDE. Had we not been with friends we would have gotten up and walked out. I decided to go up to the bar and talk to the bartender. She was very apologetic and took care of us for the night, but the rest of the staff ignored us and even gave my wife dirty looks as they walked passed us. Never in my 43 years have I ever been treated so poorly in a food establishment. I personally delivered food to this establishment from my employer and was so excited to eat here. The bartender informed us the owners were out of town for the weekend and our server happen to be the LEAD of the night. The bartender also informed us that this happened last year in the same spot. Not once did anyone ask if we were ok as glass shattered on to our table. Thank you the bartender for trying to recover the situation. If I could give zero stars I would. I realize that working in a fast pace environment can be overwhelming, but as a paying customer, I would hope that someone left in charge would be better equipped with proper etiquette on handling these situations. The fact that I had to ask the bartender "are we welcomed here or should we just leave" is embarrassing. Even if our children were at fault of causing damage, this is not the way to handle it. My hope is the owners see this review, take time to evaluate the situation from their 2 exterior cameras and give their lead the support she needs to be better at her job. read more

The food was incredibly delicious and fresh. I had the Whiskey River Burger, my buddy had the Blue burger, and we split the enormous basket of zuchinni fries. Washed it down with a couple refreshing glasses of Arnold Palmer's (Ice Tea and Lemonade). All of it was excellent. The staff was attentive and friendly, and the restaurant and outside eating area was very clean. I will be eating here again next time I'm in town. Burger cooked great but only had one large green chili so not enough to get with every bites. Garlic fry's had way too much garlic and could not taste Parmesan. I have finally found a local favourite to visit over and over again. I have now visited Tru Burger about 12 times in the last 5 months. They have great service (thanks to Megan). And consistently good food. The manager who runs the bar has a great personality who takes pride in his bar. From the many beers and guest beers on tap; to his recent smoking Old Fashioned, (see video uploaded). I have not had a bad drink at Tru Burger and always had a warm welcome. The food is great, you can order off the menu or make your own combination from their extensive menu. Watch out for the habanero sauce! that thing creeps up on you, i would recommend it on the side. We usually get the grass fed lettuce wrap burger or salmon, grilled pineapple and habanero is also a good favourite. Fries? Sure they have great fries but awesome sweet potato fries. Cannot decide? Was in the area for Shopping at the outlet. Dropped by this Burger joint for a quick lunch. I am glad it was a wise decision. Thanks to Yelp reviews. They were not so busy. Just couple of customers at the bar. We got seated quickly. I had the California burger with Ground Turkey and my husband built his own burger. We also tried the garlic parmesan fries. I must admit the Burgers are a bit pricey but they are worth it. The Burgers are big in size. Juicy char grilled protein with some good sauce, veggies and soft buns. Loved the burgers, good in taste. The fries were amazing. The cheese was not melting, just the way I like it. The only disappointment was that there was a fly around our table. Next to the glass wall. Rest all in all good burgers. No Social Distancing They may have put up plexiglass, but all the tables are in use and at 8pm on Friday, this place can only be described as a Covid factory. No Air Conditioning Either it wasn't working or too many people made it boiling hot inside. I ordered a veggie burger and it wasn't as tasty as the ones I pull out of my freezer. Hubby got a Whiskey BBQ burger that had inedible stringy stuff in it. There was a black hair on my plate. We split a side of fries, which arrived cold. For the cost and the wait, definitely not impressed. McDonald's would have been more satisfying. So tonight, I tried bison for the first time. I will have to say it was amazing! Here at Tru Burger, you are given a lot options to choose from, regarding how its prepared. I chose the bison medium rare, served lettuce wrap style with only, of the many options - with goat cheese, bacon strips, and an amazingly flavourful Habanero sauce. Was I dissapointed? Absolutely not. Was my fear of a gamey meat removed? It was. This bison burger (lettuce wrapped) was amazing. I am so happy to have chosen lettuce, over a heavy bun. This should not take very long because I waited for a table longer than it took to leave after receiving my meal. If a place with "Burger" in their name cannot properly cook a medium-well hamburger, there is something terribly wrong. I had high hopes when I found a burger place that serves grass-fed beef and it happened to be just down the street from where I was staying. The place was packed on a Friday night a bit after 6pm, another positive sign. Oh boy, was I in for a treat ... NOT! When I saw that they had a house margarita for $5, I was even more enthused, but wait, things went downhill quickly after drinking about half of my margarita, which was pretty good by the way. I ordered a 1/2 pound Angus beef burger, medium-well, with sharp cheddar, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and herb mayo on a brioche bun ($9.95), adding bacon, sauteed onions, and avocado ($1 each). Fries do not come with their sandwiches or burgers, so I thought I would try a side of their Skinny Fries ($2.99) as well. When my burger arrived, I was quite impressed, it looked delicious. The brioche bun was perfectly toasted, the burger patty thick, and the contents I ordered piled so high that I was wondering how I would shove it into my piehole. The first bite was pretty good, the burger was a little more pink on the edges than I expected for a medium-well burger, but I thought "what the hell" and took another couple bites. As I got closer to the center it was obvious that this burger was much closer to medium-rare or rare than medium-well, it was nearly raw in the middle. My stomach turned because there is a reason they put warnings on menus: "WARNING: Eating uncooked or undercooked beef can be hazardous to your health!". I do not give a shit what Gordon Ramsey says, I do not eat uncooked or undercooked beef, not until tonight at least. The poor waitress came back and asked me how my meal was and when I showed her my uncooked/undercooked burger, she apologized profusely. She asked me if she could take it back and cook it longer, meaning "nuke-it", or if I wanted something else, but my this time I had lost my appetite and asked for the bill. The manager also came by to apologize and took the burger and fries ($15.94) off my bill, but they lost a customer by letting me walk out the door without so much as comping my margarita or offering me a free or 50% off meal the next time I came in. I NEVER tell establishments when I visit that I am a food and travel writer with a popular website (80,000+ visitors a year) in addition to being Yelp GOLD Elite for 6 years running and a Zomato "Verified" Connoisseur. I, obviously, also have never accepted a single gratuity in exchange for a meal, hotel, play, or anything else I write reviews about because they have no idea who I am until I leave my card after paying the bill. If a place offers a free dessert, drink, or anything else because I am dissatisfied with my experience, I am more than happy to accept it because that is what good business owners and managers do, make amends to unhappy customers in hope that they will return again.
