If you're looking for a TRUE hair artist, search no more!!!! I'm soooooo happy I came across this place via yelp. I was in desperate search for a place that did keratin, I did my research on so many places in the city that do keratin, but nothing seemed to click. Sandra is a professional, she took her time with my hair and the results are phenomenal! I can't wait to go back for my color. She is super personable and lovely to talk to (even offered some wine). I didn't have a chance to go here as I made an appointment for half highlights and was told I had to make a previous $50 consultation appointment just so they could look at my hair and see if they could do work on me?! So I generally don't really do reviews even if I have an unfavorable experience, but I kinda felt the need to share this. Let me start off by saying she clearly is very skilled and knows what she's doing. She's definitely a balayage and highlights expert, the pictures speak for themselves. But I certainly can't say I got what I asked for. When I first came in for my consult, she was running behind. Fine, it happens, no problem. The consultation was very, very brief, she said since I had virgin hair there was no need for a test and that it could be done it would just take time and money. I was fine with that, hair is an investment, and it matters to me. Especially because I've been wanting to do this particular style for so long. The day of my appointment came, she was running behind. She asked if I wanted to go grab a bite or something. Nope, I just told her to give me a call once she was ready, no biggie. I understand things happen, and I didn't want to make her other client feel like she was rushing. I go back once they call me that they are ready, she doesn't remember what I wanted to be done. That's fine, I scheduled a month in advanced, I show her and explain to her what I want. Fine, everything was going fine, took a while for the bleach I was there for a couple of hours, she was very nice everything going ok. The other client is also there as well, then it's time to wash off the bleach. Once I'm done with coloring, she assumes that I'm leaving with my hair curly. Uh.. nope, when I came for my consultation I talked about styling too. So she definitely didn't plan for that (not really my fault, I think she should have asked when I first came in). So while she's straightening and SLIGHTLY cutting my hair, she's rushing cause the other client that has been waiting there as well. She apologizes saying "I didn't know she wanted me to cut and style, I'm sorry, I'll just finish up quickly." Like what.... you're making ME feel bad because you're not really managing your time appropriately. I scheduled a month in advanced, why overbook yourself like that? When you know you're the only one doing hair. So in the end, color doesn't end up being what I wanted. I asked for WHITE peekaboo hair, and did not get that. Mind you, it doesn't look bad, it looks okay, but ITS NOT WHAT I ASKED FOR. If it was something that couldn't be done, it could have been a conversation. I showed pictures, and I was very patient, if she had just taken time to actually pay attention and cared about me as a client (at least as much as she cared about the other one) then I'm sure she would have been able to do what I wanted, but that was not the case. I paid almost half of one thousand, would have been a bit less painful if I got what I wanted. I was too embarrassed and flabbergasted on how the appointment ended to even bring it up before I left, I generally don't like making a scene. But now, I just want to cry. And again, my hair doesn't look bad, but damn. My hair is important to me, which is why I chose her to work on it, knowing it was going to be pricey. I wish I would have left with what I envisioned, and not feeling like a burden (even tho I scheduled with plenty of time, and I was patient). TLDR; She is quality, but didn't get what I wanted and it was PRICEY. Plus, your time doesn't feel valued. read more

I am so glad to have found Sandra! She is nothing short of amazing. I came to her with an idea and she brought it into life. We waited two months before, per her advice, processing my hair. She gave me all the right products and best hair advice in order to maintain the health and length of my hair. She uses the best quality of products and is extremely talented. I learned about the salon from Sandra's daughter, Angie and her IG page. After following for several months on their social media and drooling over every makeover they did I was very excited when I saw they opened a salon in Union City. My former colorist had to go back to her hometown and after trying a few disastrous hair salons I decided to book an color consultation with Sandra at Trú Color Lounge. I already knew that if she said that I could go back to blonde ‍ without damaging my hair I was going to do it without hesitation. Long story short, SANDRA IS AMAZING! The passion in which she talks about what she's doing, and the process left me amazed.
