Terrible service. Terrible attitude from the servers for what is really plain flavorless vegan bull crap quinoa butternut squash bean mash. All of the food items are variations of this theme. It took 48 minutes to get a violently mediocre salad. And the waitress slammed down every single plate with attitude. Never coming back here. Don't give them your service. Maybe all the waiters are hungry from eating this tasteless food with no caloric content. read more

Stumbled upon this restaurant after shopping. We didn't realize it was VEGAN! We are not vegans. After looking at the menu my family and I were able to find something that looked tasty! The flavor of the food was great! Service was good! The only thing that bugged me was the pathway to the restroom was right near where they prepare the food-making it almost dangerous for the chefs(aka chance of a passerby bumping them. If you have picky kids or a picky husband who isn't fond on vegetables and is a "meat and potato" guy this restaurant is probably not for you. read more

First time at True Food Kitchen as an out of towner. The place is quaint, the service was good, and the prices reasonable. The exceptions to this is they added shrimp to my Korean noodle bowl, that I didn't order and thank goodness I didn't have a shellfish allergy, then my remake was half a portion and on top of it, they charged me for 2 bowls. The server corrected the charge, but the experience has left a less than pleasant taste in my mind. When in Denver, the choice is yours, my choice may be different on my next trip. read more

True Food Kitchen is a from scratch restaraunt that specializes in healthy eating options featuring a seasonally rotating and locally sourced menu. My bestie and I have been trying to make our way here for a few months now. We finally got our chance to stop in before heading downtown for an event a couple weeks back. SPACE/ATMOSPHERE: Love it! Tons of natural light pours in from the large windows. Green booth seating line the aspen branch/trunk covered walls. Table tops are a light wood (each table has a potted succulent too) with white chairs along inside. There are long community tables and some circular tables in the center of the space too. Like many restaraunts have started Plus they feature an excellent awning covered sidewalk patio! DRINKS: Since we were heading to an event where we would be drinking; neither of us wanted to imbibe yet. My bestie chose to just sip on water; while I couldn't resist trying one of their specialty drinks. So I ordered the Hangover Rx (pineapple, orange, honey, and cocnut water) from the "Refreshers and Teas" menu. So good! I can see why it would be an excellent "hangover cure." Ha! EATS: I chose to nosh on the Margharita Pizza while my bestie opted for the Grass-Fed Beef Tacos. The Margharita Pizza was excellent! Love the crust! You can def taste that everything is super fresh. My bestie's tacos were alright. I wasn't crazy about the corn tortillas used for some reason, but the filling was quite tasty. SERVICE: Our server, Julius, was quite helpful and attentive during our visit. Upon finding out that it was our first visit he gave us a rundown of what True Food Kitchen was all about and made a couple recomendations of menu favorites. He brought us our order promptly and checked back with us just enough. The only thing that was a bit odd was that when we asked for our check, I had already set my credit card out. So he took my card as he left and proceeded to run our entire meal on it. I think he should've clarified that before just assuming that we were paying together. I just recently discovered I have a gluten intolerance, which can feel a bit scary now that I have to find new places to eat nowadays. I had been told of True Foods Kitchen back at home in San Diego, but since I was visiting Denver, I decided to give it a try. I came in during dinnertime today and my waitress Melissa was so helpful! Since it was first time eating at True Foods, she showed me what GF options would be best, going beyond in her customer service to even answer some more questions about the tuna tataki entree I chose. It was nice to have a waitress kind enough to go out of her way to make sure I was happy with my meal. She made my first experience at True Foods Kitchen so easygoing with zero stress - food was delicious too! I'll definitely go to my local one in SD now that I've tried it here. read more

I typically don't spend the time writing reviews but I was super disappointed in my experience at True Food tonight. I ordered the Ancient Grains Bowl and added the grilled chicken. The dish was so spicy I couldn't eat it. I took another look at the menu to see if I missed that in the description and the dish was described as having "miso glaze." I have severe GERD, therefore, I cannot eat anything spicy. I mentioned it to our waitress who didn't seem to care and just said it had "a miso glaze." Upon leaving, I asked to speak to the manager. I told her that the food was good but the dish was incredibly spicy and hard to eat. I also explained that it was not described as such in the menu. She said the grilled chicken was tossed in a "wok sauce." Why is this not called out in the menu? The "wok sauce" is like a red chili sauce that is HOT. The manager offered no apology. We took out of town guests who had never dined here and their dish was equally as spicy which they were not expecting based on the menu descriptions. I have eaten here many times and absolutely love the food. This was just a huge miss. At a minimum, I figured that there would be some effort put forth to rectify our poor experience....maybe offer to remake the entree as it's described in the menu? Additionally, our friend ordered a non-alcoholic drink. He was very adamant to make sure it didn't contain alcohol. A "runner" brought him a drink with alcohol. The "runner" left with the drink with no apologies. The waitress came back some time later with the non alcoholic drink he actually ordered and sat it down in the table without saying a word. It was such a strange interaction. Overall, I realize people are human and make mistakes but the staff seemed almost put out. Customer service was certainly lacking on this night. read more

So ... we had a dilemma... my favorite restaurant is Hapa Sushi is across the street. And every time we go to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science we go to Hapa. I've been promising the Hubs to try out True Food Kitchen, and today was the day. We sat on the patio ... sweet! Lots of people and things to watch. I'm gluten free ... no problem. I sipped on my wine, and he enjoyed his awesome watermelon lemonade (note to self - next time let's request a bit-o vodka). Service - super responsive and friendly. Atmosphere- relaxed and trendy. Menu - healthy, & good variety, The bathroom was extremely clean. Parking ... ummm ... it's Cherry Creek ... I'll give them a break. We ordered the Korean Bowl and Kale Cobb Salad ....WOW! They split the plates for us - with a smile- and brought out extra Tamari upon request. Thank you! So NOW our dilemma deepens ... sushi or True Foods?! I would be remiss if I didn't take the time to leave a review. I'm almost 5 weeks post stomach/esophagus surgery with a highly restrictive diet. I chose True food because I've eaten there in the past and enjoyed the experience. Their menu clearly states they're understanding of dietary restrictions and they did not disappoint. My server, who I unfortunately did not get her name, went out of her way to make the most out of the situation. Her kindness did not go unnoticed. Thank you! This was one of those rare experiments where we decided not to do any online research and just picked a place because (a) we were hungry for lunch after house browsing in a nearby neighborhood and (b) there were several groups of people waiting outside, which made us think that it was probably a decent restaurant. (Lines, after all, are a sloppy way supply and demand meet.) The wait was only about 10 minutes, giving us just enough time to stroll around Cherry Creek and get a feel for the neighborhood before we got a text saying our table was ready. Love that! Our dining experience was somewhat of a mixed bag, though. //The Good (aka The Food and Drinks)// + The edamame dumplings with the white truffle oil and dashi was delicious, though some of the dumpling skins were ripped. + The torched avocado with cucumber and tumeric ponzu was also delicious, and the avocado was the perfect level of firmness and ripeness. + The steak tacos were well-marinated and spicy. + The Hangover Rx drink was like a classier, fizzier, less sweet version of a pina colada. //The Bad (aka The Service)// - Where do I even start?! The hostess gave us two mismatching menus, only one which was the source of truth. Luckily, our waiter set us straight on which one we should use. - The food took forever to come out. My husband's second beer actually came after we were done with our tacos and ready to pay. - We asked for a high chair for our little one, waited like maybe 20 minutes, then just walked back to the hostess stand to ask again. //The Meh// + The portions are definitely on the smaller side, which was surprising considering how expensive this place is. I left hangry and ended up eating a huge steak when I got home. So much for the Anti-Inflammatory diet. + The prices. Refer to bullet above. + The ambiance is one of a generic New American restaurant, decorated in every interior design trend of the moment. It felt very much like a chain, which makes sense considering that's what it is. (And this is where prior online research is useful sometimes.) Avonlea and Nicole were so pleasant and welcoming! We have been here several times and always had a wonderful experience, today was something a bit more special. Nicole informed me they had turned over the menu and wanted feedback on their new take on their redfish dish. In a word: Wonderful. I always appreciate an attention to detail which this dish delivered on from the beautifully delicate sear on the fish creating a very light char and locking in the moisture so well the fish flaked like pastry with my fork. The fish is also delicate in flavor which was matched perfectly with this summer succotash. I particularly enjoyed the gently-charred corn giving it a nice crispness and hints of charcoal flavoring. All in all I would describe this dish as light, easy on the palate, and well-balanced with a clean finish like a pleasant dream waking up to a new sunrise on a Sunday morning. I can't believe that I just tried this place for the first time this year! Their food is so good!!! I understand it's a chain but they know what they're doing. Which makes sense that they have multiple locations. I am convinced that they are serious about their ingredients, picking the freshest and the bestest. I have enjoyed their turkey burger and their ancient grains bowl with salmon and I would get them both again. Flavorful. Fresh. Well cooked. Well seasoned. I don't really know what more you could ask for. I love that I leave there feeling good about what I ate versus regretting what I ate. Service is always super great too. The edamame dumplings in a dashi broth were literally some of the best things I've ever had. They've sent me into an obsession of wanting to recreate this experience for myself and I plan on coming back here for these little treats anytime I'm in Cherry Creek. If this restaurant could be my private chef and kitchen, I'd be super healthy and super skinny - and my taste buds would be very satisfied. Yes, it's that good. Farm to table and so FRESH. I inhaled my food - it was so delicious. I ordered the Teriyaki Quinoa bowl and added salmon. It came served on a bed of broccoli, heirloom carrot, bok choy, mushroom, brown rice, avocado, and toasted sesame. AMAZING! My salmon was cooked to perfection! Usually they undercook salmon at restaurants and I like mine fully cooked and this was done so perfectly, it was fully cooked but not dried out. The bowl was so filling and extremely satisfying - so healthy and good for you too. I had a taste of everything else ordered by my tablemates and each and every one of their dishes were equally fantastic, but mine was my favorite. And did I mention they have healthy juices? They do. I ordered the Kale Aid (kale, ginger, apple, celery, cucumber) - yum! True Food has expanded to a few states and I hope they come to NY soon! We desperately need one in NYC. read more

Came here with a friend for a post work hang out/chat fest. Such a beautiful place well designed & spacious. There is such an extensive yet non overwhelming menu that includes both vegetarian & vegan options! Pretty much any & everyone will be able to find more than a few options to choose from. There are fresh squeezed juices & cocktails plus wine to drink and or sip on.. Overall Im extremely impressed. I was stuck between 3 choices & ended up having a chicken sausage & fennel pizza with a delicious organic tomato sauce. It was perfection! So light & crisp. I ate the whole thing.
