Service and ambience was good, but the food was bad. I ordered spaghetti squash casserole and what I got was a blop of ketchupy red sauce over stale zucchini with some mozzarella. It did not taste fresh at all, but I ate it because I was hungry and did not want to make an issue of it as I was a guest of my friends who ordered something else. We ordered Uber Eats to our hotel from this place and found it to be quite tasty and gluten-free friendly! We ordered the chicken with pomegranate sauce, a salad with added steak, and hummus with gf pita. It arrived and the chicken and pomegranate sauce was delicious. It was a little difficult to tell if the things we ordered gf were actually gf because the kitchen didn't label the boxes. So I didn't eat the pita and realized there was farro in the salad, so I skipped those. Otherwise, the hummus and chicken were great. read more

I've been meaning to try this place for while. I love the idea of the concept using wholesome intentionally-sourced ingredients but sadly I felt like it missed the mark. Bright open restaurant with friendly staff. My Mediterranean chicken sandwich was unfortunately dry and the flaxseed bun was dense. The kale salad was was overly dressed and tasted excessively salty. That was either the cheese on top or the dressing. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. We arrived at 12:30 on a Saturday and neither of these items were on the menu. Apparently, unbeknownst to the website developers, they have a special limited brunch menu on Saturdays and Sundays and don't offer the advertised menu. Again - they don't mention this on the website AT ALL. So, we had to pivot. My companion had the ANCIENT GRAINS BOWL (miso sesame glazed sweet potato, charred onion, snap pea, portobello, avocado, organic grains, cilantro & pumpkin seed pesto, hemp seed, turmeric) and I had NOT YOUR MAMA'S MEATLOAF (Verde Farms grass-fed organic beef, herb roasted fingerling potato, honey roasted carrot, mushroom jus, microgreens). I love my mama's meatloaf and, as advertised, this was not hers. Sorry mom - this is better. No gross ketchup glaze - they made an absolutely delicious mushroom jus. The potatoes were old tasting (like they were roasted several days ago), but the carrots were well cooked and delicious. Return trip on a recent visit to Phoenix. New menu item caught my attention, Crisp'd chicken. I ordered the sandwich with no bun. Subbed hot honey for awesome sauce. Picture of sandwich on menu insert showed thick piece of chicken that was golden brown. Air fried is the selling point of this item. Two tiny chicken tenders that were as thin as a belt arrived on my plate, one side was nearly black. They were dry and tasteless, if not for the hot honey on the side to add some moisture and seasoning it would have been like chewing on a belt. I was speechless considering what they charged. I had a plane to catch so I choked it down and left utterly disappointed. Even though True Food is no longer part of fox restaurant concepts, the food and service are still good. This is my go to option any time I'm shopping around the Scottsdale Quarter shopping center. I go back because it's consistent. Our visit over the weekend was As good as ever. The place was packed. We opted for the bar and got seated right away. The serving staff at the bar was super friendly, upbeat and knowledgeable on the entire menu. I ordered a green juice and the breakfast bowl (scrambled eggs instead of sunny side up). Served with grains/ quinoa, portobello mushroom, sweet potato, charred onion with a cashew pesto. It was delicious and very satisfying. I've been coming here for more than a decade. Still great. Our server Drew is buying us a free dessert for letting you know how awesome it is! If you've never been here before I highly recommend the edamame dumplings they are my favorite. If you're someone that usually shares an appetite... Don't. My friend and I went to true food kitchen last night for dinner. The restaurant was clean and appealing to the eye with an open kitchen concept and wooden tables topped with candles. Our server was friendly and attentive. I loved how the restaurant had many organic items, lots of food I wanted to try. We started with the butternut squash soup and pear flatbread then split the curry for dinner. I enjoyed the soup and flatbread but the curry is what will have me coming back. I loved it. They put so many vegetables in it and they were cooked perfectly. The curry was delicious and I will return for this alone. This is one of the best clean eating restaurants in Phoenix. Every time I visit this location, I always have the best experience with my server. They've always been very helpful with recommendations. This visit I ordered the happy hour Buffalo Cauliflower bites. These were BOMB!!! I highly recommend these for happy hour. My favorite dish on the menu is the O.G. True Burger. The herb hummus and charred cauliflower were two appetizers we tried and liked. I'm not a fan of cauliflower in general but it was prepared so well with the tahini sauce and dates. This might actually be my new favorite restaurant. I LOVE how it's centered around being anti-inammatory, since that's a priority for me in my daily life. The ingredients are all clean and healthy, and it still tastes INCREDIBLE. I also love how they use seasonal ingredients, and have a wide variety of vegan options on the menu. On our annual trip to Phoenix for the holidays, we make it a point to visit a True Food Kitchen at least once. They have really comfortable outdoor seating that's kept comfortably warm when it's cold outside. Their menu is very clear for people like me with gluten allergies. The service is always professional, prompt, and kind. The wine list is solid - enough choices to accompany any food and for multiple budget ranges, but not so many that it's overwhelming. The staff knows their way around that wine list as well. They've always given us great suggestions that worked great with whatever foods we ordered. And finally, the food! On our most recent trip here all of us got salads - the chopped salad or the Tuscan kale. Everything was super fresh, with high-quality produce and meats. Wait time - We (3 adults, 1 Toddler) went on a Saturday at 6pm no reservation but there was no wait time and we were seated right away. Hostess were pleasant! Food- we started with the hummus plate and the elote flatbread. They were both amazing and not over filling or heavy. For the mains we got the chopped salad with chicken. I love that they chill the bowl! We also got two margarita pizzas and my toddler got the kids pizza which was the same size as the regular menu pizza. No complaints as they made for great leftover for him! Everything tasted fresh and cooked to order. There was not a long wait time for the food considering how busy they got. Drinks - we got the zero proof spicy margaritas, it was the perfect summer drink, also the citrus skinny margarita was delicious. I love that the drinks are designed for the season, not too sweet or where the alcohol overpowers the drink. Shout out to Isaiah one of managers stopped to check on us as we sat down and asked if he could get my toddler a drink to start as the adults reviewed the drinks and the waitress made her way over. Isaiah made him a fresh squeezed apple juice which my son devoured. Service - Stacey our waitress was great and so was one of the managers Brandon who stepped in to help out our table and others as it got busy. Plus the great apple juice from Isaiah.
