This place is amazing! I love it. Its a great place to relax, the staff is so friendly, ive really enjoyed every beverage ive tried there and the food is excellent and fresh. I like bringing my 6 year old son there. He enjoys the iced hot chocolate and every time we are there the same group of elderly men are there playing board games and he likes to hang with them. I often find that when im there i enjoy friendly conversation with new people. The environment seems to evoke happiness and is very pleasant. read more

This place is such a home town feel. I adore the coffees and specialty drinks and the smoothies they design. Always getting an extra carrot cake muffin for my dad, never go wrong with the food there. Very nice cafe. The servers are friendly. They know how to whip up a good cappuccino. Their food offering is limited to a small-refrigerated display case - a few selections of muffins, couple of different scones and cinnamon bun. The blueberry muffin is very nice - nice blueberry taste. Hmm, I can actually taste the blueberry . They even offered to warm up my blueberry muffin without me asking. Nice touch. Oh yeah, free wifi. While this place seems to have a steady stream of customers, I can't say that I've been overwhelmed during the three times I've been. Most recently, I ordered an egg, cheese and tomato sandwich. Sandwich was served without the tomato and just by itself on a plate. (Blah) - (Same thing with the microwaved quiche). I think the establishment is missing an opportunity to step things up a bit. -A small piece of fruit (watermelon, a couple of grapes) for a sandwich or small side salad with the quiche would've made a better presentation, not mention a much nicer lunch AND would've ensured my return. Can't say that I found anyone overly friendly either as others seem to say. I think the tone was more of a cordial one. Was like being at the bank. -Lots of potential here to make something good - great. Left thinking I could've gotten the same thing at Dunkin's. Very excited to spot True North while sitting in traffic (isn't that the best way to find new delightful places?). Amazing selection of coffees. My partner and I finally decided on the Nutty Professor and it was super yummy. Great combination of flavors and lots of interesting combos to choose from. We tried the mini muffins or donut bites and they were pretty tasty. I saw so many items that I wanted to purchase but I behaved. Prices are great - comparable to a chain coffee place with much better quality and service. I'll definitely be stopping in again! read more

Only been there once but plan on going almost every week to meet my student. Their Americano was solid. Their pasty looked good too, but I didn't get any, so I'm not rude eating in front of my student while we study. I will definitely try other drinks and pastries in the near future. It's a busy place, which is a good sign. There's a big parking lot, which is a relief! And their sitting space is big enough for there not to be a long wait. It's simple. IMO - True North's coffee is the perfect medium between Dunkin Donuts weak coffee and Starbuck's strong. I had one of their red velvet cupcakes once and it was on the dry side, but today I used my coupon for a free muffin and it was really good, so next time I'll pay and try another one of their pastries. I have also had their egg & cheese sandwiches and they are YUMMY! As for the atmosphere, it is really relaxing inside - they have a good amount of seating, nice big windows in the front, and it is always clean. Burlington needed a cute little independent coffee shop and True North fits the bill perfectly! read more

eff starbux and eff chain coffee houses support your local shops! and i do...i come here whenever i am in the area and want coffee its yummy and the people are awesome the ambience is wonderful, if a little small inside (but thats a good thing!) i like my coffee i like it coffee-flavored and hot and fresh they cater to the flavored crowds, as they should, but also do a fine cup of coffee and even yummy espresso i drink my espresso over ice, black, so if its gross, there is no hiding it! the barista knew what she was doing and tamped it perfectly and i got a delicious treat for a really sane price again, eff starbux!!!! read more

Not much too look at or a reason to stay. I found the environment at odds with the menu and location. Basically the selection of items was scarce along with the patrons. I wasn't sure if I was in the right place until the single person running the store ask me if I wanted anything. The cleanliness was unobservable so I settled for a muffin and was underwhelmed. Crumbling to crumbs as soon as I touched it and leaving a dusty feeling in my mouth, I was quick to consume what small portions I could before leaving and looking for better food. read more

The contractor and the software genius mingle, talk politics over delicious and original coffee specialty drinks and treats. Warm friendly interior with comfortable open table seating and armchairs. My friend found this place on Yelp and we decided to check it out. I love hot Chai so that is always the test of a coffeehouse for me. I don't care for the Chai at Starbucks. An excellant addition to the Burlington community . They have a large coffee menu and fresh baked goods . The atmosphere is bright and clean , more of a chain like feel than a coffee house. It would be great to see them use local and/or organic products which they do not. This shop is worth the trip to downtown just to taste there products. Hands down, my favorite coffee shop. No matter what you order drink-wise, it's sure to be one of the best coffees you've ever had. A better brew than Starbucks or Dunk's has to offer, so much so that I feel like I'm just settling when I go anywhere else. As far as foods go, the Sweet Heat breakfast sandwich is my go-to. True north truly feels like home away from home,with its cozy feels, friendly faces and delicious food. The food is not over processed, not even greasy or oily like most breakfast places I've been to. The eggs are fluffy, bagels are soft and warm, small muffins are moist. Love love love this place... Let me start by stating that I am willing to give this place another chance. Today could and probably was just a fluke. I want to be able to agree with all these positive posts so I"ll be back soon! Loved the atmosphere, it's warm and inviting with comfy chairs by the window and plenty of tables & chairs. The menu is straight to the point with a bunch of options to personalize your beverage. The baked goods looked great as well, the brownies and lemon squares are huge! When I walked in there was one woman behind the counter but she was busy talking to someone in the back room. She never greeted me, never asked me if I was ready, never offered any suggestions. I felt very awkward and almost didn't order. After I sat down with my items two men came in and she greeted them with such energy! :( I opted for the True North Mocha over ice and I have to admit that I really enjoyed it. I also ordered a brownie since they looked huge and oh so chocolatey. I was very disappointed with it though. It wasn't as chocolatey as I thought, in fact t didn't have much taste at all. :( All in all I loved the place, just not the service. I'm a big fan of independently owned coffee shops so like I said, I'll be back and hopefully I'll be able to add more stars! read more

I love True North - not only do they have the best coffee around (love the iced white mocha latte) but what sets True North apart for me is the service. I love their yogurt parfait and when there are none in the case, Paula and her staff are always happy to make one for me. It's service like that that you can't get at the chains. This is my favorite place for coffee. I am a latte/espresso lover, and honestly their lattes taste far better than the other two chain coffee shops in town. I used to be a Starbucks person, but not anymore! Everyone working there is friendly, and I love that no matter who is working, their hot drinks are made very consistently. I haven't tried the sandwiches yet, but their baked goods are also delicious. read more
