I have been going to True North for a couple of years now. Paula and her staff are always friendly and the muffins (you need to try the breakfast muffins) are the best. Prices are reasonable and service is quick. There always seems to be a good mix of people there; mornings are busy but never too crowded. There's always a good flow of people coming and going. To me it's a good environment to sit and work for a couple of hours or bring my family on a Sunday morning for coffee and muffins or even just to people-watch and eavesdrop on the variety of conversations. It's never overly quiet nor is it too loud. There are games and toys for the kids and wifi for those of us who work or just want to check in on Facebook. True North is definitely a great alternative to both Starbucks and Dunkin's placed nicely right in the middle of the spectrum; neither overly pretentious and overpriced nor cold and pedestrian. read more

Pretty good coffee shop. Staff was nice, I liked that they have flavor roasted coffee, nice way to have a flavor with no sugar. I had the cookie butter roast hot coffee , I enjoyed the flavor just not strong enough of a blend in my opinion. I also liked that they had whole coffee beans for purchase, I took a bag of the white chocolate late chip home and look forward to trying it. Wish they had any non dairy creamer out and stevia for customers to put in. Only whole milk, skim, cream and white sugar or Splenda. I was excited to head in to True North coffee for a nice cup of coffee and a breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was alright, but nothing special. The iced latte was served in a 22 oz cup with with 2 oz's of espresso and 20 oz's of milk. I couldn't taste the espresso at all. Too diluted. I tried the iced coffee instead, and it too tasted watered down. Average spot. Try Dunkin's if it's closer. read more

First time here. The egg, ham, and cheese breakfast sandwich was ok. But the frozen mocha- wayyy too sweet. And no taste of coffee or chocolate! And no option for 1 or 2% milk. Isn't coffee their main "thing"?? I think she might have made it with caramel syrup in instead of mocha. But she knew I ordered a mocha, as she called it a mocha. I absolutely LOVE True North. The coffee and lattes are really good (strong too!). I've had nearly all of their sandwiches and many pastries and everything I've had is delicious. Getting a table is usually never a problem. Music is great, seats are comfy, and the owner is exceptionally nice. I drive much farther than my local coffee shop just to go here! Highly recommended. I haven't been here in a while. Not since Summer 2010 actually. Heheh, that was a good summer. Anyway, back to the review. I had a strawberry banana smoothie. It was the type that's based on ice, kind of like a slush puppy. It was very flavorful. I grabbed a donut here too. I would have it rated at five stars, but I'm so disappointed that they did away with their soy milk. I was all excited because it was unsweetened, and tasted really good with the sugar-free raspberry and chocolate, when I got it as a latte. :-(. They replaced it with oat milk which I like, but it does not foam up as well as the soy. they also have almond milk, but I am allergic to nuts and can't do that, nor dairy. Please bring your soy milk back! read more

I have come in here a few times! And I have never been disappointed. I ordered the pumpkin iced latte the other day and it was so delicious! ;) The bagels are good too! When you walk in they had the front doorway all decorated with "Fall" items and advertised all of their fall drinks to perfection! There are not only just tables where you can sit at but a booth along the wall with tables and chairs! Some connected to each other and some in the corners of the store so you can have a little privacy and not be smoothed right next to someone;). The staff is always friendly and they get your orders right every time!!! We will def. be back! We were NOT disappointed.;) read more

I wish people would get out of the DD line and try this place out! They have excellent coffee...better than the chains. My favorite beverage is the True North Mocha...a nice and sweet caffeine kick in the morning. I get the Frozen True North Mocha for dessert! The fresh muffins are the best. Many mornings that I come in they are still warm. My daughter loves the (still melty) chocolate chips in her muffin, and I prefer the Apple Strudel Muffin with apple chunks in it. The staff know many of their regulars (and their coffee preferences) and are always friendly to newcomers. My father asks to come here whenever he visits from out of town. My only complaint is that they don't always have enough pastries baked and ready to go. Worth the wait though if they are in the oven and about to come out. There are books and games to keep kids busy as you enjoy your coffee fix, too. read more

This is a review for their coffee only. Highly recommend this local shop in Burlington. I like my coffee strong. Occasionally I'd order a latte or cappuccino, which also has a strong coffee flavor. I am just glad there is one coffee shop in this area that doesn't just offer drinks that taste like milk/sugar/ice cream with a hint of coffee, not that there is anything wrong with that. For those who are like me, I highly recommend their Americano, iced or hot. It definitely keeps me going at an intense work day. read more

Best coffee around, way better than most places I've been too. Their food is really good as well.

I went in yesterday (a Saturday) expecting it to be a little poppin' (for some reason everybody in Massachusetts decides to hit up a coffee place on Saturday mornings). It was, but it was *really* busy. That being said, aside from two annoying customers in a row, they kept the line moving very, very quickly. They used a system that I assume can only work for indie cafés--small places that aren't chains: once an employee took your order, they personally went back and started working on it, and a different employee was sent out to help the next person. I was highly entertained. My qualms start with after I ordered. I got my iced latte in seconds--way too short to pull any sort of espresso shot. I didn't see it being made because I got out of the way of the line instead, but I can't see a situation where it was actually espresso being put into that cup. Maybe I'm wrong and it was longer than I thought, but I dunno. I didn't taste that much of an espresso taste--it seemed like it could have been just strongly brewed coffee cut mostly with milk. An additional issue I had was that I tried to view the menu online so that when I arrived, I wouldn't be that stereotypical customer staring open-mouthed at the menu while others are trying to order. Instead of having a list of the beverages, only a few sandwiches were listed; a bit bizarre. Bottom line: cute place. I would go back to try more items on the menu, but so far I don't think it's quite worth the hype. read more

There is no mystery that as soon as you take your first sip of true north's Iced coffee that is is the smoothest most flavor packed coffee you will ever have. Cold brewed, like really cold brewed they don't just say it. True North is my Go To coffee and it even makes it so I can't stomach dunkins or starbucks at all. I moved to the area recently and was disappointed with the coffee selection around here until I found True North! I am so happy that I found this awesome coffee shop. They have a great selection of coffee flavors, which is hard to find. My go-to coffee is half banana half hazelnut. I haven't had any of their sandwiches but I'm sure I'll get one next time I'm there, they look delicious. I did have their doughnut muffins which were good. True North doesn't know its products and caused my son a dangerous allergic reaction! I have one day a week off and my 18 month old son and I decided to check out the local coffee shop. I stated up front that my son had an egg allergy and asked if there were any products that didn't have eggs. One of the staff said that the lemon bars were ok, so I made the mistake of trusting them and ordered one. While everyone was super nice, they were completely wrong about their product. My son ate less than a teaspoon of the lemon bar, threw up and got hives within minutes, and I had to give him Benadryl to curb the reaction. I found out from my pediatrician that I should have called 911 and given him an epipen! Before posting this review, I did want to give the company a chance to apologize and respond to the incident. I wrote the store owner/manager a letter explaining what had happened and urging them to train their employees more thoroughly on their products to avoid serious situations like my son. I have received no response and its been over two months. The lemon bar was tasty (to me) and the service was friendly despite being unaware of product ingredients or seriousness of allergies. Please do not go here if you have an allergy, they do not know their products!! read more

This place is amazing! I love it. Its a great place to relax, the staff is so friendly, ive really enjoyed every beverage ive tried there and the food is excellent and fresh. I like bringing my 6 year old son there. He enjoys the iced hot chocolate and every time we are there the same group of elderly men are there playing board games and he likes to hang with them. I often find that when im there i enjoy friendly conversation with new people. The environment seems to evoke happiness and is very pleasant. read more
