i would not recommend them , I used them for years and all i do is get excuses and dead grass. But they will show up at your house . Customer services rep stop and tell you have chinch bugs and the manger comes out and says you don't. Then another rep comes out and says it your watering, so many different things they have an excuse for everything and situation. The customers service from Tampa will call and ask you questions if you like the service . Of course not but they are not going to do anything about it. It's not just this drought year but its been like this all the years i use them. The yard tech usually has there eyes closed and if you ask them what they think a problem is in the yard they say (I do not know) so the technicians just spray . one time i had a technicians that said he did the yard when he came to the door , and i said are you sure , yes he said. well i have 12 cameras on site and i check them and they did not do the yard as said. However i called the office and told them the story and they came back and did it . They are not a trusting company to do business with. Since TruGreen Lawn Care boasted of its national presence with superior products and experienced service personnel, I entered into a contract for 1 year and paid in advance. All year I kept waiting for the grass to get greener, the bald spots grow grass, and the weeds to disappear. None of that happened, and my lawn looks as bad as it did a year ago, if not worse. BUYER BEWARE! We were a customer of True Green for about 4 years. While EVERYONE else around us had AMAZING green lawns our looked unhealthy and we purchased a 6 treatment plan a year. After 4 years our lawn looked like it has never been treated and to my amazement I was home when the True Green technician came to our residence and treated our lawn. He did about 2 seconds of treatment WHEN WE HAD PURCHASED A FULL TREATMENT OF OUR YARD rolled up his hose and put a tag saying they came and treated our property and left! He never treated our yard and the time stamp on the notice said 8 mins. The technician NEVER TREATED our yard and I'm starting to wonder if they ever did! I used tru green when they bought Turfmaster in Sarasota. They are horrible !! Weds were not addressed, and the lawn was dying and turning yellow from lack of nitrogen. I gave tru green another chance as the promised they would use Turfmaster procedures. They did not. I'm had tru green in my travels at several locations, and always hoped the would improve. We used Turfmaster for 2 years and our lawn looked great. TruGreen took over and now our lawn is turning yellow after 4 months being treated by TruGreen. I called to cancel and the customer service rep told me that I've only had 1 with TruGreen and they didn't take over Turfmaster accounts until last month. Total lie. I wrote a check to TruGreen in Dec and Feb.,,, so they have had almost 4 months with my lawn. We used TruGreen a couple years ago when we first moved here and the service was crappy then. I would highly NOT recommend this company. After my first application I was happy. My second treatment was okay but where I came home that day my mailbox was broken and hanging off the post. I complained thru the app that their service is thru and didn't hear anything. I came home the next afternoon and I find that my mailbox was removed and replace. I didn't think anything until I looked at my app again to see when the next service would be. The app told me that there was no service available. I was confused I paid for the whole year of service. I called up the customer service number, explained what happen and they pulled up my account. I was told by the reparative that my account was canceled due to someone calling in and complaining to contact the BBB so they canceled my account. I am so mad at this point that I ask for more information due to I want to know who called in and made these complaint on my behalf. I was put on hold. I was on hold for 40 mins, I heard a click like someone was going to pick up to relay the information to me like I asked, but no I was disconnected/ hung up on. I didn't call back because I felt that it would be a waste my time again. I put a complaint in on their website on 06/28/2018, I still have not hear anything back. Strike 2: Killed the limited bit of lawn in front of my house. We have never had an account with this company, however, they accidently treated my lawn instead of my neighbor's lawn. When I called to report the incident, I had to ask if they wanted my address to correct the error. Had a great experience with TruGreen in Ithaca, NY so when we relocated to Florida in 2020 - we contracted with them to take care of our newly installed sod at a house we had built. In the span of 8 months, our lawn went from pristine green and very health looking to a lime green/yellow color filled with sections not growing and lots of weeds. When questioned, the TruGreen tech had a different story at every application as to the reason why our lawn looked so poor. When I finally escalated our situation to the local leadership team at TruGreen (going through their 1-800 call center which is very frustrating), their leadership team never followed through on promises they made to me. As a result - I cancelled my contract with them in July and my lawn is already looking much better after only one application with a new provider (Lawn Care Extraordinaire). Interesting that TruGreen measured my lawn area to treat at 15,000 sq. ft. all done over the phone. New provider actually came out the house to assess my situation, did measurements, and calculated 20,000 sq. ft. I am convinced TruGreen was giving me watered down applications because they miscalculated area to treat. I would stay away from this local branch/area. They are not reputable at all! read more

I asked for a manager to meet me at my yard for months to show him/her the enormous amount of weeds that had appeared, Manager never contacted me and never came to my residence to review the issues. Very unresponsive. I have pulled weeds out of my yard daily for a few weeks until I finally had enough. I shouldn't have to do that if my lawn care company was doing its job properly. What a joke! I signed up for the full package. Let them know I was having new sod installed on April 6th. They assured me they would be out after the sod was installed and keep my lawn perfect. On the 1st I get a recorded call telling me they are coming to fertilize my lawn (remember, my sod isn't in until the 6th. The entire yard has been sprayed with Roundup and is dead!). I call, remind them about the dates, am assured they will wait to reschedule until after the new yard. Guess what! I come home on the 2nd to see they "serviced" my yard. What a great idea, let's put fertilizer on dead grass. 5 calls later, 5 different stories about what should and should not be done on the lawn and assurances each time that "A supervisor" will call. They never called, the people that do call don't know what is going on. I actually cancelled their service before they did any work on my lawn because of the poor customer service and then they show up today saying they are there to do my yard. We had to send them away with orders to never come back. If they cannot answer a phone and a question or set a date to service a lawn. They clearly cannot be counted on. Very sad. read more

Three times a manager was supposed to come out but never showed up or called to reschedule. Thus I attempted to cancel my service. I would highly recommend NOT using this outfit. They will promise you the world but have no intention of backing it up. After my first application I was told to wait for two weeks for the weeds that were treated to die. After two weeks some of the weeds died and I was told that they would treat the others with the next application. After my second application the remaining weeds were still there plus a considerable amount of new ones. I called to explain that I was not happy with the latest treatment. They said they would be out in 3-4 days to spot treat the weeds. I received a call that they would be there the following days and no one showed up. I called that same evening and was told that they would be there the next day. They never showed up. I called and cancelled my service on 7/25/2016 and was told my refund would take 3-5 days to appear on my credit card. I'm still waiting and calling for my refund. To top it all off, they treated my lawn again on 8/11/2016. I called once again and was told that yes my service had been canceled but they failed to cancel my next treatment but wouldn't be charged. We used tru green for 1 year, 2017. During that year, our yard was never completely weed free. Anytime we tried to contact them, we would receive an automated system then receive a tech call back... never getting the same tech on the phone. When we called to let them know we would not be renewing once the year was up, we continued to receive calls from various numbers with various true green employees asking us each time why we didn't renew and attempting to sell us on their services. These calls were dispite us having explained our reasoning for discontinuing (i.e. we wanted to go with a local company to be able to speak directly and easily to the yard tech and we were not impressed by the overall service). After explaining our reasoning to the first 3 people, each time asking that tru green please remove us from their call list, the calls continued. Overall, the company provided an impersonal service, they most definitely did not seem to communicate internally, and the customer service as well as product were far behind anything we expected to receive from such a large established company. read more
