We were traveling from California to Nevada when our 2022 Outback experienced a failure of the engine thermostat and began to give trouble lights and check engine was on as we got to Bakersfield. The temperature gauge stayed in the cold area because of the failure. This all took place on a Sunday when everyone was closed. We looked up the Bakersfield Subaru and their ratings weren't very high and their phone service was not very friendly. Since we were traveling to Nevada, we went up through Tehachapi to antelope Valley where this Subaru dealer had higher ratings. We spent the night so that we could reach out first thing in the morning. Right from the first conversation on the phone we knew we made the right choice to come up over the mountain. I explained what we experienced with the car and provided the failure code and asked if she could check to see if the parts were in stock. Once the service person I was speaking to confirmed that the part was in stock, I asked if there was any way for us to get the car in for service, I also explained that we only had less than 12,000 miles on the car. She was very accommodating and set up the appointment for within the hour. Once we arrived at the dealer the excellent service continued. They took all the information and showed us the waiting area and then offered to drop us some where to eat when we asked about restaurants in the area. Within the hour we heard back from her and she confirmed what we told her about the failure code and that the repair would take around 4 hours. They also informed us that one of the rear shocks were leaking and that the total repair was going to be over $2200. I explained that we read there was a recall on the thermostat and asked them if they could get that covered by the factory since the car actually had less than 12,000 miles on it. She asked if we could wait until her manager was available and she would check with him to see what could be done. About 45 minutes later she came to us in the waiting area and said that they would cover both the thermostat and related parts along with the rear shock replacement however that we would need to wait for about 6 more hours. We agreed and started to hang around the show room. Maybe making some nervous . Our service person then came to us and offered a free rental car while we waited. We agreed and thanked her for going above and beyond. Since we were 300 miles from home we just drove around the area. When we returned our Outback was just getting done. We were extremely impressed with our service provided and especially the way our service writer Sayra Chavarin went above and beyond. This is truly cutting edge Customer Service! You know -- normal things people do when they expect a dealership to be, well... honest. Am I the only one that finds it laughable that they chose "Trust" as part of the dealership name? Kinda like saying a cactus is cuddly! Here's how the dishonesty ramped up... minutes before our appointment (aka when we're basically pulling into the parking lot), we get a message: "Oh, the car isn't available for purchase yet -- it hasn't completed certification." Suddenly not negotiable. ( I know shocking!) * The online price? Apparently the "absolute lowest"... except when they tried to quote us a higher price. * The explanation? Some mysterious documents claiming the dealership paid more than the advertised price (apparently they are a charity... disguised as a Subaru dealership). The convenient sales rep switch meant Houston could simply shrug and say he knew nothing about prior conversations. It felt less like buying a car and more like watching a live demonstration of "Bait & Switch 101." Or "Watching a masterclass in creative truth telling." Look, I get that dealerships still love the classic "Let me talk to my manager" routine. That's practically tradition. But the full bait-and-switch playbook in 2026? That's some retro dishonesty I didn't expect from a Subaru dealer. Given TAVS's already struggling online ratings, I'd hoped for better. Updating my review from 2018. We've since made two car purchases at this location. If you are in the market for a new or used vehicle, stop by and ask for Noe Santiago. He's great and I love his no pressure style of sales. He's very relaxed and keeps you at ease answering any questions you might have on the vehicles, and paperwork. Every time I take one of our vehicles in for scheduled service, if he sees me, he goes out of his way to come say hi and ask how the family is doing. The service staff is helpful and knowledgeable of any potential issues. They've even been generous enough to take me to the back and show me some cars that have come in and are on the harder to find side. (Don't tell their boss!) Do not deal with Trust Antelope Valley. They are dishonest and do not keep their word. They agreed to repair my vehicle prior to selling a us a pre-owned car and after the purchase they backed out of their commitment. They then reagreed to handle the problem only to return the car still broken and not fulfilling their agreement to the fix the repair saying it was a different problem. Worst of all they have made no attempt to make it right. I have been working with auto dealers for 40 years and I have never seen a dealership treat their customers with such disrespect. Scheduled a service for my Subaru. It's a car I purchased from them, brand new 8 years ago. All of my service dollars have been spent there. I arrive, on time, for my appointment. 5 minutes later, a man walks up and tells me they are doing something new, and I can stay in my car, and that someone will be with me to complete the intake process. 15 minutes later another customer arrives and drives right on past the line of cars waiting (yes, there are people behind me). He pulls in, gets out and is getting set up by the service personnel in the office. So now I have waited patiently for 20 minutes past my appointment time. I walk inside with the floor mat and seat cover that had been tucked under my windshield wiper. No mention of anything from the service personnel as I place the seat cover and paper floor mat that was tucked under my windshield on the counter. Guess who won't be supporting AV Trust Subaru any longer? Ever since they were purchased by the "Trust" team, their customer service has sunk. I am now going to an independent mechanic. For those who know me well, the love that I have for my 2019 Subaru Crosstrek Limited is very clear. This car is one of the great loves of my life and a part of my soul. Imagine my surprise and horror, last Saturday, when I found out, during a routine oil change and tire rotation, that my car had an oil leak from the passenger side Cam valve seal. I have coddled this car and done every service required and suggested since I bought her 40,000 miles ago in October of 2018. Our local Subaru dealership has had "Subie" for the last week. They covered the $3900 repair, waved my warranty deductible, cleaned my engine, did additional precautionary services, and understood when I cried my eyes out both when I found out about the repair and picked her up this evening. This isn't an ideal situation for a car with only 40,000 miles on it, but Subaru and Trust Antelope Valley Subaru stood behind their product and showed me they value me as a customer! Went to this location to buyout our lease and boy were we screwed. All we wanted was the amount of the buyout,but the salesman had what I think was about as shady as can be. He had a tablet that he presented to us and said you have to sign your name here to find out. we did.It wasnt for the buyout it was a purchase agrement thru them. You couldnt tell because the tablet screen was blank until the end. they added gap insurance that we didnt ask for and the interest rate was higher than what the tablet showed. also their extended maintenance agreement wes 3500 dollars for 3 years. we got screwed but we corrected it by going to our credit union(logix) and they bought them out . we got our gap insurance money and maintenance money back. Now I know why people hate car salesmen. read more

I try to shop locally and support the valley, but shopping here was an awful experience. It was exhausting and took hours. Much longer than it should have been. (Not my first car) Sales: It started off good, the sales rep (who was new) was really nice and took the time to check up on some questions I had. So I couldn't understand why her manager was bulling her so much, which was very annoying and unprofessional. My Sales Manager: What a JERK. Trying to get the final price was like pulling teeth. All he did was try to sale me add ons, not accessories (which he NEVER bothered to show me, even after I asked several times), but extras; Sealant Protection, Windshield Protection, Gap Ins, Maintenance Packages etc. And his descriptions were all over the place. Some of which were wrong and of course he had NO documentation, so I would have to take HIS word on what it covered. He never showed me the Costco price, only told me that their price was better. I came very close to walking out and going to Sherman Oaks Subaru, but driving back and forth and starting over, ugh. Well, I like the car and it was the color and trim I wanted, so I got. NEVER AGAIN will I go to this dealer. Parts Dept: They raised the MSRP by $90 when they realized I had a Costco coupon. They told me they looked up the wrong part. It was the same part number. Service Dept: They doubled the installation cost on the part I brought, so needless to say I went somewhere else to get it installed. $500 less than AV quoted. I will NEVER go back. Awful customer service. Oh and they bought out Lancaster Honda and price gouge there too. I was told I needed new brakes and tires. Both are fine and well within specs. read more

Just had my car serviced, rhey were supposed to change the oil, oil filter, air filters and rotate the tires. Upon picking up my car i could see the tires were never rotated (i have visable wear on the outer edge of the front tires) . When i asked if there was a problem with rotating them i was told they didnt need to be rotated WRONG!!! Now had i not noticed this i would have drove off without knowing this. They didnt have the courtesy to even inform me of this. Now i wonder if any of the other things they were supposed to do were done. read more

Took my 2023 Outback Wilderness here for an oil change and a five wheel rotation as proscribed by the service manual provided by Subaru (page 518). Service dept. said they only did four wheel rotation but could not explain why. When I picked the car up the tire pressures were not being read and by the time I got home I was getting error messages from the tire pressure monitoring system. I called the dealership right away to get the issue fixed. The dealership was either unable or unwilling to fix the problem. They gave me the excuse that Subaru corporate was not providing them with the equipment needed to accomplish this fix. My service advisor told me they didn't have the equipment to fix the car. Subaru's corporate representative told me that service manager Tina, claimed that I hadn't told them about the problem. After dealing with constant error lights on the dash for a week, corporate arranged for me to take the vehicle to another dealership that fixed the problem in 20 minutes - it was simply a matter of reinitializing the individual wheel sensors. Unfortunately it was a two-hour drive one way, and about $50 in gas (Subaru corporate covered the cost of driving to another dealership). We own two of these vehicles. This is not the first time we have had a problem with service at this dealership. They have at times claimed they inspected various parts of the vehicle when we know they didn't. I understand when you can't get to a particular part of the car to inspect it, but just tell the customer the truth and you can catch it next time. Don't lie. They also kept my 2022 Outback Wilderness for 8 weeks over an electronics/computer issue. (That vehicle has since been declared a lemon and returned to Subaru.) Anyway, thankfully they have reopened a Subaru dealership in the next town and I plan to take my vehicle there for service going forward. read more

I would not recommend this dealership for vehicle repair at all. They are not transparent. They took forever to recharge the A C on a 2013 Honda Civic. I was over charged and was not given a clear estimate on what it would cost to recharge the A.C. I request a response by a manager and when she did call me, she never addressed the problem. She just wanted to sell me a vehicle. This dealer ship doesn't deserve 1 star. I would never bring any vehicle for repair or would buy another car from them. ( My wife's car ) The guy that was suppose to be my service adviser handed me over to a auto technician because he said that he was too busy to continue to advise me on my vehicle. When you arrive at the dealership they treat you very nice until they get your vehicle into the facility. That's when the okey doke and disrespect begin. Monday I brought my 2015 Forester in to the service department, and told them I need a duplicate key made, and fix the driver door lock that didn't work with the 1 key I had. They quoted me a $190 diagnostic fee for this, which they said would be waived on the final invoice. After their diagnostic, they told me the key wouldn't work in the driver door lock (duh). Then they quoted me $350 for a duplicate key, and $150 to replace the door lock cylinder. Since I was already $190 in at that point, I signed off on this estimate, and they charged my card $560. Then, after I signed the estimate, and paid the money, he said it would be an additional $370 labor to do the work. I told him spending over $900 for this was beyond outrageous. I asked for my money back. He said ok, but they would be keeping the $190 diagnostic fee. For what? Why does it cost $190 to tell me my key doesn't work in the door? I told him that when I brought the car in. So I took my car to a locksmith, where it cost $210 to have the key duplicated and lock cylinder refit. I have been a loyal Subaru customer for many years now, love the cars, but I will never, for the rest of my life, trust my car to this dealership service department. read more
