Upon the recommendation of a tire dealer who recently retired, I took my vehicle to this new place. I have to travel down below once a week and I get my 23 y/o car checked periodically. The daughter gave me a quote over the phone then charged me a MUCH higher price when I picked my car up and denied everything we originally agreed on. She claimed I had attitude and charge me an "attitude fee "and her dad moved my car into their garage and blocked my car in until I paid. Extortion at its finest. They did not quarantine their work and continued to try and create cost. Also did not stand by their Essential person discount as promised/advertised. Do yourself, your car and your wallet a favor and don't come here. You will be asked to pay $150 for a diagnostic fee that will result in the issue never getting fixed. You will have to come back several times for the same issue and they will have the audacity to charge you again for the diagnostic test in addition to the "work" they did. You will be asked to leave your car for days on end. And you will get attitude when you refuse to pay the $150 again for the same thing for the third time. I get it that times are tough and this shop is trying to make its money where they can but it shouldn't be at the expense of the customer. I will take my three cars elsewhere and my brother will take his two elsewhere as well. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. ZERO STARS. Had to get a smog check and service was quick and service was great. And because the service was so great I had them check into why my tire light was on. Once they got my tire light off I drove off to do my errands and the light came back on. Drove back to the shop and the reset tire codes and now light is off. I was advised if light comes back on to just bring the car back in. I have decided that this is my new car maintenance facility since moving to Lancaster recently!! I needed a smog check, came here to get the test done. My check engine light was on but I did not know that would give me an automatic fail. They did the entire test, charged me, and told me it failed because the check engine light was on. They would have known right away it was on and still ran the test and charged me. I serviced my vehicle at the dealership after and everyone I told was surprised they still tested it when my light was on, as they would have noticed it right away. I was told I could come back within 10 days for a free retest. I went back and they told me the retest would be $30. I said Athena assured me it would be a free retest and the man told me I was wrong. They are liars who just want money out of you. An honest place would have seen the light was on and informed me my car wouldn't pass until I got it serviced. I will tell everyone not to go here. read more

It has been forever since I have felt real honesty, passion and to top it off real people that knows what they are doing and not trying to rip people off and take money. I had to cars serviced here and everyone who works there have treated me with great customer service. They have a pick up and drop off service from a great gentleman that opened the car door for me and also assisted with helping with my seat belt and opened both car door and the door at the location. I did a smog check on both vehicles and they are up front with you to let you know what needs to be done and make sure you fully understand what needs to be fixed. Terrible mechanics, took my old Chevy el Camino in told him to get it started and he broke my steering column. Then told me I needed a new one and that he needed to redo all the wiring like 73 el Camino has that many wires. Didn't follow my request and had terrible attitude. I don't do not recommend this shop to anyone. Said my ignition switch had no power... when I have driven the car before, the battery was just dead the battery!!! Bought a used truck. Needed smog to register and was due an oil change with synthetic oil. Went to a 'fast' oil change franchise, they wanted $129.00. WTF? Drove off. Son suggested a spot in Lancaster for the smog test, oil change can wait. Smog test only place quoted $99.00 + $17.00 for certificate. Again, WTF? Looked across the street and saw Lancaster Tire & Auto Care, Smog. Thought, what the heck? and circled round to get there. Honestly, was not expecting much, but to my surprise, I was! Lol. Oil change and Smog test with certificate wasn't much higher than either quote! Gentleman mechanic was very nice, pointed out the burnt out light I would not have noticed. Checked my tires, belts. Owner behind the counter, very nice also. Comfortable, clean lobby. Fresh coffee, tea or hot chocolate! Classic rock channel over speakers, so no loud boom, boom, rattle, rattle! Worst place ever! They'll charge you $100 to analyze your vehicle, and instead of telling you everything that's wrong with your vehicle, Jerry or whatever his name is the owner. Will call you after you talk to either the rude receptionist, or his daughter Athena and basically tell you what was told to you wasn't right and now this needs to happen. So all that to say this. After he has your vehicle he likes to keep it and call you every 2 days with a different issue that he and that shop had known about since the initial inspection. Make sure to ask to see the read out on the diagnostic test that they charge for. CROOKS! Will never return $800 and almost a week later still have the same problem. SMH! read more

I stop by here and brought two vehicles. The 1st vehicle (Ford) is experiencing transmission problem. They did a diagnostic and she said she couldn't find the problem. Before I left the car for diagnostic, my husband told her multiple times to run the car on the 14th freeway to get the car to go into Limp Mode but she decline, later that day we went to pick up the Ford, we drove it to the valley and the car goes into Limp mode. The 2nd vehicle (Hyundai) and she said it needs to be taken to auto body shop. All they did was look around the car, didn't even bother to take the car in the garage to look thoroughly. Her response was "no, you have frame damage, you have broken axle, strut, control arm, etc. After taking the Hyundai to get 2nd opinion come to realize was just the strut & the control arm. In the end we feel fortunate that Hyundai doesn't have frame damage or problems with the axle. I'm getting my repairs done AV Auto Care for a great price. I don't recommend this place. read more

They were able to diagnose my vehicles issue and were even willing to fix it right there and then. Unfortunately, I had time restraints but will definitely be going back to get this fix, as well as using Lancaster Tire and Auto for all my vehicles needs. So, why did I give them 5 stars? Because they were honest. Honesty can go a long way dont you think? Especially a mechanic. I grew up around a shop, as my father was a Master Mechanic who worked for my Uncles shop. So I know the lingo and how things go. Mechanics are in the business to make money, just as anyone else is, and so up selling is part of the job. If you go to a mechanic and get upset with them informing you about additional services, then you are kind of the problem, not them. With that said. Lets talk about my experience and how it relates to my 5 stars. I figured the work I needed done was going to be about as much as I paid. However, they called me while doing the inspection and informed me of additional services that would be a good idea to get done at 60,000 miles. This about doubled my initial expectation. Of course this took me back for a second. Jeff was kind enough to break down everything for me and the benefits of getting it done. He also said "Your car is in great shape, and the work I suggested is mostly for maintenance purposes." THIS is where he earned 5 stars from me. That is how you tell a good mechanic from an untrustworthy one. He didn't try to sell me on the idea that I NEEDED work. He clearly left it optional for me. I dont know if they price was the best in town or if customer service was top notch compared to anywhere else, because I choose to go to them for their location. What I can say is that they where kind, respectful, personable, and honest. The price for my work was better than I expected and I made a fair and educated guess on the price. So overall I am happy with them. They have business for now on. read more

We needed to get two trucks smoged at a star certified smog station. This is a very nice family owned and operated business. They were very prompt to handle my needs . While we were there the service advisor worked with two different customers and gave them options on their repairs and even talked about spending too much money on vehicle repairs vs. Vehicle value. Definitely a place that we will go back to in the future. Only reason we did not to give 5 stars is that we did not have a huge expensive repair to compare services on. read more
