TSK is not only my favorite restaurant in Newport, but possibly my favorite restaurant in the state. This unassuming, cozy downtown spot specializes in fusion food made with a menu that is frequently changing to include the freshest, most seasonal ingredients. On my most recent outing, I shared a fantastic scallop crudo which was really fresh, nicely balanced, and the perfect start to the meal. We enjoyed it so much we considered putting in a second order. We also ordered the mushroom toast and the bone marrow escargot. The mushroom toast, which came with a medley of different mushrooms was one of my favorites of the night. I don't typically order chicken as an entree when I eat out. because it can sometimes be boring but I'm a sucker for piri piri. And based on their late and much lamented sister restaurant Winner Winner which specialized in chicken, I had the utmost confidence that it would be delicious and it exceeded expectations. For dessert, don't sleep on the chocolate chip cookies. If you like your cookies extra chewy and extra salty, these are for you. I also want to shout out some of the dishes from previous menus that live on in my memory, including the smoked mussel toast and the lobster with miso butter. Stellar. I absolutely love the concept of their steak offerings being daily and written on the mirror of the chef's bar. When they are out of certain cuts at certain sizes, that's that. But beyond the aspect that you know you are getting the freshest sourced beef possible, is the execution of the meat is perfection. Literally one of the best steaks I've ever had, anywhere. Beyond the steak, everything else I've had here is also amazing, so you can go the route of sharing a ton of items, skipping the steak, and still leave as happy as a pig in sh*t. Highlights for me have been the mushroom toast (perfect rich combination of earthy, salty, fatty), and the raviolo (for the same reasons, mostly). This was a top 5 culinary experience for me: Sat at the chefs bar which brought the entire experience to a new level. The cocktails were delicious and the bartender whipped up a wonderful zero-proof cocktail for me on the spot. The food was simply outstanding from first to last bite. We loved the poussin, the arctic char, carrots, broccolini and tots. Each had unique flavor and presentation which stood out, but even a la carte, each piece of the meal complimented the other. Party of four on a Monday evening (reservations). We started with cocktails (all great), the warm bread, the Caesar Salad and the Beef Tartare. All these were delicious - especially the Caesar Salad! One of us had the Hanger Steak for a main, another had the Filet, hubby had the Halibut Porterhouse (very thick! generous portion!) and I had the Lamb Belly Skewers and the Bone Marrow with Escargots as my main. There were 3 orders of side Latkes that we shared. Both steaks were perfectly cooked and flavorful and hubby enjoyed the fish a great deal. The steak "sauces" we ordered (Bearnaise butter and horseradish cream) were lumps like actual butter, not sauces at all. Tasty, but kind of weird. The Bone Marrow was delicious (although only two very tiny escargots) and the Lamb Belly Skewers were incredible however they were swimming in the tzatziki sauce - way too much. We had to return all 3 orders of the potato latkes - they were all completely soggy with oil - not crispy at all despite being very darkly fried. They need to be made fresh, people! Came here for dinner with a friend and had the best meal. We just split a bunch of apps and sides and everything was delicious. We had the tuna crudo, heirloom tomato toast, summer squash, Caesar salad, and shishito peppers. I would recommend every single dish. The flavors were fantastic. We had a really wonderful experience at TSK on Friday October 6. The place was fully booked and the couple that was at the table slated for my wife and I were lingering over wine. The hostess was fantastic and got us a couple of Negronis from the bar while we waited then comped them without a word. Place has a great vibrant atmosphere. After a rave recommendation from a friend, we put TSK on our list of places to try. We love their sister/brother restaurant Mission, so we had high expectations on our dining experience here. I made a reservation online, and had the first seating of the evening. We arrived early and instead of offering us a seat or to wait in the lobby, they told us to leave and come back at our reservation time. This was odd to me, and something I've never experienced at a restaurant. We had spent quite some time trying to find parking, and it was really cold outside, so we hoofed it back to our car and sat there for 10 min until our reservation time. Once we returned, we were seated immediately, and started at the menu. I was somewhat surprised to see the menu having such few items, and was also somewhat frustrated they had no vegetarian entrees. We started with drinks, sparkling water for him ($5) and a glass of Spanish rose for me ($12), and ordered the fingerling potatoes side dish ($6), garlic broccoli side dish ($6), Caesar salad starter ($10), and the halibut entrée ($36). The Caesar was interestingly prepared, molded in a circle and topped with crunchies. Despite the somewhat deconstructed presentation, it was packed with flavor, and was really delightful. The broccoli was perfectly cooked and well seasoned, but the fingerling potatoes really stole the show with their balance of creamy sauce and salty exterior. We were warned that the Halibut was a "T-bone" which I hadn't seen before, but that it was a hefty potion so we decided to split it in hopes for a winning dessert. The fish was well cooked but sitting in a pile of oil which made the seasonings muted and I felt didn't do anything for the overall taste. The rose was good, and I had two glasses. I was hoping for their olive oil cake, but alas they didn't have it on the menu for dessert. We looked at the dessert menu anyway but nothing really jumped out at us as something interesting to settle on. Service was prompt once we were seated, prices were reasonable for the quality of the dishes, and overall creativity was good. Downsides were a lousy first impression and the lack of any vegetarian entrees. Overall, definitely a place I would return to and try again...even just for their side dishes and salad! read more

My boyfriend and I had a perfect dinner here for our anniversary. It happened to be restaurant week, so we had a 3-course meal. I think my vegetarian meal was better than my boyfriend's meal which included meat. That's not to say the meat options were bad, but we would recommend the vegetarian ones more. I rarely go downtown in the summertime and when I do it better be worth my while. So when dear friends rented a house in Newport and wanted to go for drinks we landed at TSK because I used to love revolving doors. There was no room at the bar and we didn't make a reservation but the fantastic and wonderful staff found two barstools at the sidewalk window. BEST SEATS IN THE HOUSE as far as I am concerned. I had an aperol spritz with some passion fruit purée.. btw haven't ever seen passion fruit outside of Hawaii in forever..yum. Then ordered a small plate of pasta with pesto, potatoes and haricot vert and shaved Parmesan that was so unbelievably perfectly flavored. Hot bread and great spot to chat and people watch. One word, outstanding. From the service to the ambience to the quality and taste of the food. We had the mussel toast and soft shell crab to start. Both were fantastically prepared and presented. We have been here before but only for drinks and this time we came for full dinner. I liked that we got to sit at the bar becaue it is an open kitchen which is nice to see. I enjoyed their wine menu very much but we weren't all that pleased with their dinner menu. We started off with their Caesar salad which was a bit too "anchovy" for me but still was good and a beautiful presentation. My husband had the Raviolo which was good too but small. For entrees, I ordered their Halibut Porterhouse and my husband had their Pork Chop. The halibut was huge but didn't care for the seasoning on it and it was very meaty. My husbands was ok too. Since they did not come with sides I got the broccolini (ok) and tater tots which were by far the winner. I will say that this place is cute and we probably would be back maybe in the fall/winter to try some of their steaks but for this experiene it wasn't my favorite. We're Newport residents and have been to TSK many times but only reservation available on Resy was Kitchen Bar so I took it. Being my wife's birthday I added a note and followed with a call asking for a table should one come available. When we arrived not only were they unaware of my request but sat us at the service bar - a cut in section of the counter where drinks are made inches from you and not where you can enjoy a meal. It happens but their lack of empathy was off putting. All this to say that if you're looking for service that treats you better than just another filled seat, there are better choices. Our party of two had the Caesar salad, venison tartare, bone marrow escargot, broccolini & mission cuts - all of which I'd reorder. (But you must get the mission cuts.) We also ordered a cookie and dessert taco to share - forgot the flavors but both were great. Tables were spaced far apart with plenty of room. I think they might only be taking reservations and no walk-ins during covid bc I saw a couple being turned away. I was very excited to try TSK due to all the notoriety on social media. Great menu, great cocktails, something new and exciting, we moved our reservation from an OG spot to come here. Two of us were in town visiting friends we arrived early while waiting for the rest of our party. We were sat greeted with a bottle water and then we waited and waited for our server to come say hello and introduce herself. No problem, we could guess who's it would be since we were on the patio and there were just a couple servers out there. The one that was helping the couple next us was the obvious guess. She was friendly with them, clearly acquaintes. She's came and went several times before asking us if we would like something to drink. We ordered, they arrived separately and BOTH times the drinks were barely on the table before she was running away. I said thank you as soon as the drinks hit the table and I was talking to her back. So rude. The night has barely begun and I'm already rubbed the wrong way. Our guests arrive (5 minutes after the scheduled reservation time) they order drinks, and we chat. She's come back to ask for our order, we ask for a few minutes, no big deal like 5 minutes. We were just chatting catching up with friends. This waitress looks at her watch, huffs and puffs and rushes away. CRAZY behavior, as if we were inconveniencing her. The restaurant was busy, but she had no problem chatting it up with her buddies before ever saying hello to us at first. Service is half the experience when dining out especially in Newport where there's more than enough places to choose from. We ordered, plenty of apps, everyone got an entree, we had sides and drinks and desserts. The waitress was making out pretty nice on our table, the least she could do was drop the attitude and disrespect. Overall we were all pleased with the meal but the service needs a ton of work. Made reservations for 9PM on a Saturday during Labor Day weekend and the restaurant was packed. Definitely make reservations ahead of time! We were seated outdoors; they have a little deck area as well. To start, we got the bone marrow and the beef carpaccio. Both were amazing! The bone marrow was creamy goodness that bone marrow should be, and the beef carpaccio was thin and the sunflower seeds added a nice crunch. For entrees, we got the monk fish and the whole sea bass. The sea bass was HUGE. Definitely enough to fill one person and left feeling content. Both fish were fresh and seasoned well. The restaurant is contemporary, exciting and puts an interesting spin on American food, while combining the seafood aspects of Newport. Definitely worth visiting! read more

We had an amazing meal here tonight. We ordered a few appetizers to start the raviolo which was recommended and very good ! The egg yoke complimented the flavors and overall so good. The second appetizer was the burrata toast this had micro greens, eggplant, and roasted shallots. The flavor of this toast was savory and good you have to try yourself. We also had two cocktails with passion fruit and vodka which were citrus heavy but very good. We also ordered a salad that was the most basic item we ordered. The salad was radish with mixed greens and sherry vinegarette. We opted after going back and forth for the special tips menu . This was to choose between 29 to 36 ounces of rib eye or sirloin steak. We opted for the 30 ounce rib eye.... this was cooked a bit more rare than we prefer but it tasted amazing. There was a peppercorn sauce accompanying the meat. It was a perfect blend of savory sauce and perfectly salted meat. We also ordered the warm bread which was so good and light. We didn't fancy the butter accompaniment but we didn't need it because we had that wonderful peppercorn sauce to dip. We also ordered the broccolini which was prepared perfectly. We also ordered the crispy fingerlings which had a really unique but delicious flavor. We didn't even have room for dessert but it didn't matter this meal was an amazing meal. The service was attentive and spot on. We were not rushed and enjoyed our meal thoroughly. All in all with gratuity we spent a little over 200.00 but it was worth every penny to me. read more

If there was an option to give more than 5 stars, this restaurant would get 10+ stars thats how blown away I was by everything from start to finish. I was able to get a reservation while in Newport on a little anniversary vacation for Saturday night and it exceeded any expectation. Coming from New York, this rivals or beats any dining experience I've ever had. First of all, the staff is so welcoming and friendly, they were attentive and made sure our drinks were quickly ordered. I ordered my usual dirty vodka martini and it was easily the best I have ever had. The olives were amazing, I even ordered an extra side, they were definitely not your average cocktail olives. For dinner, my fiancé and I shared a bunch of dishes and each one was better than the next. The warm bread was perfect with the most amazing butter. The caesar salad was incredible and my fiancé loved the breadcrumb topping, he said it was like having a bite of crouton in each bite, which is always the best part of a caesar salad. The Raviolo was rich and flavorful, perfect size for 2 people to split. Lastly on the appetizer side, we did the beef tartare, which was like a burst of flavor in each bite. It is a good bigger appetizer and the beef melts in your mouth. For a main dish, we split the pork milanese which was on the bone breaded and cooked perfectly, juicy, and not dry at all which can often be an issue with pork. We got a side of broccolini which was also cooked perfectly. If you are looking for an all around 5 star experience with some of the best food you'll ever have, make a reservation here ASAP!
