    Steamed Littleneck Clams Lunch
    Lloyd W.

Off the cruise ship and walking in town. Ran into this restaurant. Since it was 34 degrees. It was nice and warm. Greeted by the host and seated timely. Came in to get some steamed clams but found out that they only served it for dinner only. Our waitress said that she would talk to the kitchen and see what she do do. She came back later and was gladly to say that the kitchen agreed to make the steam clams. Also ordered fish and chips which looked like half the fish cooked in a crispy beer batter. Hot and cooked perfectly. Claims came cooked perfectly and the broth was a little salty. Order some fresh oysters since it was an oyster bar. They have an oyster list like a wine list. Pros: My fish and chips was excellent. Fresh oysters was fresh and sweet at $35 each. Cons: I understand that the clams is served only for dinner. But the broth was salty and for little amount of clams, they changed me $21.

Celebrated the boo's birthday here. Since I am a vegetarian girlie, I chose this restaurant purely for him. For any other vegetarians reading this, unsurprisingly this place isn't for you. He ordered a few rounds of mostly all of the small oysters on the menu and loved several, also had lobster and a few items I can't remember. I had the pear martinis and another cocktail which were a little on the sweeter side for me. For the vegetarians, if any, just be prepared to eat ahead. I got an off menu "pasta primavera" which was so noticeably an after thought mish mash of whatever was in the back-- noodles, canned tomato sauce, tiny bits of asparagus. The goat cheese and beet salad were small and just OK. If you're vegetarian just eat before you come. That aside, our waitress was incredible. Wish I hadn't left this review in the drafts because now I can't remember her name and she was so wonderful.

We found this Wonderful oyster spot with a great variety for lunch. We discovered it during a girls trip and enjoyed all the food offerings. The lobster rolls had great flavor, lots of meat, and buttery bread. I'd skip the upgraded truffle fries but liked the aioli on the side. There is a good amount of seating and it is a short walk to lots of great shops nearby. We walked here so not sure what the parking situation is or how hard it might be to get in for dinner but we walked right in for a late lunch. Prices are high but quality of food was really good.

We had a really great dining experience at Midtown Oyster Bar! We were seated upstairs in the large dining room that was decorated with big nautical flags. The seafood was all very fresh. The oysters were delicious. We loved the fish dip appetizer. I particularly enjoyed my salmon poki. We enjoyed some spritzes, wine and even an oyster shooter. The drinks were good! I would recommend Midtown Oyster Bar.

It can be hard to find a good place to eat with a large party of 10+, but Midtown Oyster Bar worked out perfectly. I made the reservation through the manager via email and loved that it didnt require a preset menu or minimum. The food and drinks were everything we had read about online. But a really nice bonus was being seated upstairs where it was a little quieter, allowing us to actually hear each other down the long table.

An absolutely bizarre experience. Recently went to a wedding reception at Midtown and unfortunately it changed my perspective on the restaurant. This was a weekday and the group was about 30 people (sat on the second floor). We called ahead for a reservation. Guests were ordering food as they were ready. A few lunches came out but then we were told there was a kitchen fire and no other hot meals could be served. Our options were soup, salad (no proteins) or raw seafood and it would be about an hour before their second kitchen was up and running. Some folks ordered salads which came out as lettuce only (yet salads that came out beforehand had croutons, veggies, cheese, etc). We had to ask for toppings and dressing. About a half hour later, we saw that other tables (located on the first floor) were served hot food during this time. Once I saw this, I asked a bartender if we could place a few orders of hot apps (like fries) and he said yes. Then our server came over and said the kitchen wasn't ready. It was quite bizarre overall. I'd almost guess that they ran out of food and wanted to serve the regular lunch crowd vs. our larger party. When we got the bill (which was over $150 a person), we were shocked. They didn't offer any discount or comp'd items, despite the experience. Thinking back, there was no emergency personnel on site, no fire department visit, no alarms, no smoke, etc. We will not be back.

We came here based on a friend's recommendation, and I'm so glad we did! Even though the restaurant was packed, we were seated within seconds of walking in (around 5 PM). The raw oysters and clams were fresh and delicious, but the lobster roll blew me away. It was warm, juicy, and loaded with a generous amount of lobster meat Will definitely come back for another roll. Highly recommend!

When we got here, we had to wait for about 30 minutes for a table since their reservation system was messed up, but things were great as soon as we were seated. I got the wicked shrimp appetizer and it was a HIT at the table. We literally finished it within seconds. I got the baked cod (in butter) with truffle fries for dinner and it was amazing. It was extremely busy the night we went but that didn't affect the table service.

Love the look and feel of the Midtown Oyster Bar, the location has multiple seating options as it has three floors, outdoor seating as well. Will definitely be back for martinis and oysters. Pro tip, they do serve "stuffies" not on menu for dinner but just ask nicely and they might be able to accommodate

No reservation available at 5 PM When I called for a reservation, I was told I had to come at 4:15 or 7:45 pm and they were totally booked ... not the case see the attached photo. It was empty for the entire time and as we leave at 5:30 there's only two other tables besides ours. The service was excellent. The food was good. Front of the house you missed this management process. Disappointed.

I came by here on a day trip to Newport! It was pretty loud and busy, though the area itself was pretty spacious. We started off with drinks (smoky sunset and rose sangria). They both tasted a bit artificial, but were not bad. We also got some oysters, a couple of which were good and a couple of which were a bit too salty and didn't taste as fresh. For entrees, we got the lobster roll and the linguine and clams. The lobster roll was cooked well, but not very buttery and just lacking. The linguine and clams was actually pretty flavorful and my favorite dish for the night! I thought it was a decent place to go if the other nearby restaurants are too long of a wait.

    Awesome sign

One of the highlights of our visit to Newport - had an amazing dinner here! Scallops, swordfish, cod chowder and Greek salad were all 5-stars! Service was as wonderful as the food. Awesome ambiance for a date night or an upscale family night-out. Definitely will be headed back here!!

Always really good fresh seafood. A great place to go sit at the bar or sit at a table and have good food and a good atmosphere.

The steak was a beautiful cut of meat, well marbled, cooked to perfection and seared so nicely. It was sooo tasty and seared with Malden salt. We are pretty snobby when it comes to steak and this was probably the best steak I've ever had out at a restaurant. The scallops similarly were cooked and seared perfectly and seasoned correctly. We got the side of brussel sprouts with peanut Rayu which was a beautiful flavor bomb. I can't say enough about the food. Every single thing we ordered was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Every time we come here the service is excellent and the food is amazing. This is what we come for right? Outstanding food and service! This year was no different than the other years and I love how the menu continues to evolve and change and everything that comes to life from the menu to the table is well thought out and bursting with harmonious blends of flavor. The presentation is gorgeous too! Plating is also important and they nail it! Okay let's gooooo! Come join our dining experience! We tried a bit of everything! We loved every bit of it. I'll mention my faves but that doesn't take away how hard it was to choose a fave! Everything was DELICIOUS ! Raw bar: Jamestown oysters . We had 10. We can't get enough east coast oysters. We live in the west side and I cannot say enough how much better oysters are on east coast! Slurp ! Mmm! Snacks: 1. Shartner's Farm Carrots: pea green pesto, pine nut, n'duja . If you're a meat, potato and pasta person and try to avoid your veggies, don't do that here. GET IT! It's such a great melody of textures and flavors that pair well. It doesn't feel like you are eating carrots and regardless it's a very dressed up bougie delicious carrot plate ! Mmmm . One of my faves out of the snacks. 2. Narragansett Creamery Burrata: green strawberry, speck, basil. Creamy, vibrant and just delicious Pasta: only had room in our tummies for 1 but every year we try different pastas and never disappoints. This year no exception. Maltagliati- hopkins southdowns lamb sugo, swiss chard, harissa, umbrian chickpea. Excellent! Pasta was perfect texture and consistency!! Little touch of spice from harissa which I loved (not overpowering). The Swiss chard was cooked to a crispy texture which I loved. I was a bit nervous about the lamb because it really can vary from place to place. However, I should have known better being from here they cooked/braised it to perfection: melt in your mouth type of soft and no weird or gamey taste. Definitely delicious pasta I recommend. Plates: 1. Duck Leg Confit- japanese turnip, spigariello kale, huckleberry conserva, duck jus. Personally my faves of the two plates but both delicious. The crispy skin from the duck and tender flavorful duck meat was just to die for. Loooooved. Plus the turnips and the amazing huckleberry conserva! Thinking about it makes my mouth water. So so good. 2. Beef Short Rib-swiss chard erbazzone, sunchoke, hazelnut. Loved it. Tasty as expected. Great flavor and tender. Dessert: 1. Olive Oil Cake- strawberry, rosé, lime curd, basil gelato. Wow! Oh wow! I'm so happy this time around they have some cake options. I love olive oil cake and now to pair with a basil gelato sounds insane right? Holy cow! Soooo good! Not what I was expecting. Strawberry, rose, lime and basil gelato flavor all work well together in this dessert. My fave dessert of the night! TRY IT! 2. Cookies N' cream: narragansett creamery ricotta, chocolate biscotti- yummy! Tasted like an elevated cookies and cream ! We loved our experience! Hopefully when you visit here, you can enjoy it as much as we do year after year. I absolutely love this place. The server, who was welcoming, enthusiastic about the menu & and handled the ever-growing crowd on his own, told us that we could always call ahead for a table. Good to know since we didn't see a way to reserve. The little place is comfy & lovely! The decor perfectly suits the Newport scene and includes a welcoming food bar area that would be perfect for enjoying their international tapa-like street-food inspired offerings. A small patio is available to overlook Memorial Blvd in nicer weather. While they do not have a liquor license, you are welcome to BYOB and we did, finding the $3 per person corkage fee very fair. Now, about the food... WOW! What a explosion of fun flavors! With choices of snacks from around the world, you can jump from one intense palate to another, over and over. Three of us shared five small dishes & one large and we loved them all. The Nduja Shrimp Dumplings were delicate and fresh and loaded with flavor. The tacos that we were here to judge were fantastic. The pork was juicy & flavorful, and, though we were afraid the vegetable tacos would be boring - they were anything but. We'd eat these all the time! Bravas Frites were a fun twist on traditional Spanish Patatas Bravas, using fries as a base rather than cubed potatoes. Again, delicious! But, our favorite of the small plates had to be the Brussel Sprouts. We almost didn't get them as they've been so over-done, but felt vegetable guilt & threw them in. OMG - the best prep of these tiny cabbages ever! Finally, the pièce de résistance was the Lobster Fried Rice - a perfect way to top it all off. Buttery, umami & loaded with chunks of fresh lobster meat, my mouth waters now just thinking it. So glad we finally stopped here. A great Tacomania contender and we can't wait to return to eat our way through the rest of the menu!

My review is not favorable but I think knowing this is a Pasta Beach effort - it will be a hit in a few months. It is in the original Pasta Beach spot next to a Dunkin' Donuts for whatever reason is open late at night. The positives - plenty of nearby street parking, modern and cozy space, and very good staff. I should mention that after we ordered, our 5 appetizers arrived starting in 5 minutes and all were served within 10 minutes. We did screw up by forgetting we were at BYOB. OK - the killer - the food. Of the 5 appetizers we ordered only one was a winner! That was the Brussel sprouts which were outstanding and a large portion. All the other dishes were about the right size for sharing by 2. Realize they are striving for "fusion" but they missed it on the pulled pork dumplings. The lamb skewers were a struggle to eat - tough (and certainly could not be eaten off the skewers) - but the saving grace was the dipping sauce. The big failures were the prosciutto croquettes - a real mess with a sliver of meat on top of mainly onions - and OMG - the Korean chicken wings. The latter came slathered with a sticky and spicy, sweet, red sauce (too hot for my wife) and some sort of dipping sauce. A mess to eat. We had to request paper towels and dip in our water to clean up. Damages with tip was $90 and we only had a tea and sparkling water. We may try it in a few months, but their current menu did not work with our palates. Food 2/5 Service 5/5 Value 3/5 (average) Cleanliness 5/5 Noise 5/5 (lack of) Décor 5/5

Sandy was our amazing server, provided great recommendations and very attentive to her respective tables. Cocktails were great, antipasto was a great start not too much to leave room for the main and desert! The focaccia was light and flavorful as well. Had the rigatoni bolognese which was prepared perfectly and had great flavor. Nearly licked the plate clean! Saved a little room for desert with both cakes being tasty and washed down with an espresso martini. Lovely place to have a date night or night out with friends!

She was nice enough to let me try them and I chose the Trevino which was very good and paired great with my food. The bread was nothing special but solid and the high quality olive oil made up for it. For my main I got the chicken milanese and it was divine. I loved the vinaigrette on top perfectly acidic and vinegary. It cut though the oil and heaviness of the breading which was perfectly salted by the way. The arugula bean salad was sooo good and created such a well balanced meal. The one thing I will say is I believe their fryer does fish and chicken bc my chicken had a slight ocean taste but since I like fish I was not bothered but non fish people beware!

They were closed until dinner time, so we went to walk around to browse at the shops nearby before coming back to try for dinner! It was pretty quiet when we went, so there were plenty of tables available. Service is slow here, even though there was only 3 other tables were dining at the same time. Multiple servers and staff were just on their phones doing nothing. Our food took a while, too! We had ordered the calamari ($17), clams linguine ($28), & the seared scallops ($38). Portions were okay... wished there was more linguine in the clam linguine dish & also not much flavor going on. I know Italian food can be pricey (I still love it though hehe), but this was not worth the price at all, in my opinion. We walked out of here, STILL hungry & unsatisfied, which is honestly pretty rare... But we were also surprised that they gave 6 scallops because we were totally expecting 2 or 3 scallops only LOL since so many places overcharge for scallops, so this was good in terms of quantity. We wished that they included something else with this dish? Like maybe asparagus or some sort of vegetable? The clam linguine had basically no flavor at all. I know that the flavor for this dish is usually kept pretty simple for the most part but this literally tasted like just pasta water. No garlic, nothing. Just salty pasta water? Overall, I will not be coming back. On the bright side, the place did seem pretty clean.

I had the spicy seafood linguine it was okay. Lacked flavor, the portion was decent. The service…read morewas great!!

We just had another fabulous dinner at Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant--our second time dining here…read moresince last fall, and it was just as wonderful as we remembered. We arrived a little early for our 4:00 p.m. reservation, and the place was already packed. While we waited by the bar, a very nice waitress took our drink order--a lemon drop martini, beautifully crafted, well-balanced, and pleasantly strong. We were seated shortly after and, of course, ordered another. (Both times, I took several sips before remembering to take a photo!) Our waitress, Mikela, was truly lovely--sincere, sweet, and very courteous. She was attentive throughout the meal without ever being intrusive, which made the experience feel relaxed and effortless. At the end, I told her I wished I could give her 6 stars, but Yelp only allows 5. For dinner, we both ordered the seared rare ahi tuna steak. I had mine with garlic bread, while my husband chose mashed potatoes. I also added the $9.95 salad buffet, which is such a great deal--you definitely won't leave hungry. I especially love their buffet-style salad bar, which offers nearly every option one could want. Both of our ahi tuna steaks were fantastic--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Once again, I dug into my tuna before remembering to take a photo! We finished the meal with a cheesecake to share--another delicious ending to a wonderful dinner. We're already planning our next visit--there are still so many dishes and drinks we'd love to try.
