Spicy Tsukemen (top), Garlic Kicker (bottom)
    Anh D.

I've been here a couple of times, and I usually order the Spicy Tsukemen because it's my favorite. This time, I decided to switch things up and try the Garlic Kicker, and it was just as delicious. The bean sprouts add a refreshing crunch that helps balance the rich, savory broth. They're also very generous with the noodle portions, so I always leave feeling full and satisfied. The restaurant is usually busy and lively, and the service is good. During my most recent visit, there was a mix-up with my friend's order, but the staff quickly corrected it and brought out the right dish. Tsujita is one of my favorite spots for tsukemen, and I'll definitely be back the next time I'm craving a bowl.

    Black Garlic Tonkatsu

Ramen + Garlic = two of my favorite things! Having heard about this popular chain from Los Angeles, I was excited to check it out. A group of us came in a Tuesday for lunch and were greeted and seated immediately. Service was quick and attentive. Anytime I go to a new ramen place, I have to get the tonkatsu, it's the basis of how good a ramen spot is! So with a handful of ramen options, I went with the black garlic tonkatsu. Depth of flavor was there, with a creamy and rich umami in every bite. The ramen noodle texture had the perfect bite to it. My only complaint really is that I wish there were more than two thin slices of pork in there! Overall, given the plethora of ramen joints in Houston, Tsujita ranks as average, especially with places like Mensho popping up!

Overall, pretty good tsukemen. Make sure to ask for broth to add at the end! This was pretty much the same as their LA and San Jose locations. Definitely the best tsukamen in Houston.

Ambiance warm Service good But the food was great. Tsukamen spicy had a lot of great flavor. Light and bright! Would highly recommend. The katsu curry was a big highlight for me. Thick cut. Fatty enough but not too fatty. Thick curry with rice. Pickled veg. What a perfect combo. Great crust. And still juicy. Would come back definitely

Came here for lunch and it wasn't crowded. Interior was simple and neat, and the kitchen was visible. Menu was short and sweet, thus it didn't take long for me to decide my food. I had the Hokkaido croquette as appetizer. It had pumpkin filling and came in two pieces. They were fried perfectly and tasted good. I had the black garlic tonkotsu ramen in regular size (either regular or large) too. The broth didn't have an aromatic black garlic flavor, but the noodles were cooked right. They have daily deals placed on the tables, so do look out for them before ordering. Parking lot is big and easy to get a parking spot.

I came to Tsujita Ramen when Houston got hit with a freeze in early 2025. The operating hours was kind of confusing. I thought I would come back again but I never did. Although I have been to West on West "WoW" mall often. I was super hungry that night in a cold January night. The restaurant was about to close, sort of. So, I ordered something vegan. The food came out pretty quick. The menu looked fancy and I had to use Google for a lot of items that I was no familiar with, like Age, as part of Age Tofu Curry. Ok, Age is short for Agedashi as Agedashi Tofu 揚げ出し豆腐. It's a lightly deep fried tofu in cubes, which covered with potato starch. I thought it was a delightful vegan dish. It was my first time trying. It was kind of gummy to chew. I like the decor and convenient location. I would def come back. Since I posted my photos on Facebook, my friends have been asking about it. I think I am going to check back with them to see how they liked Tsujita Ramen.

Very awesome and baller-azz ramen joint (they have one or the original may be in LA on Sawtelle which I've been to many times) with a special Annan Madai Fair promo from 2/9-3/31. $20.95 Yuzu Bream Tsukemen and $33.95 Madai & Unagi Kamameshi? Take my money and yes please. I tried the Yuzu Bream Tsukemen and it was amazing and truly divine - very flavorful and here is the description: House-made concentrated dipping broth featuring the natural umami of red sea bream (madai), topped with lightly seared madai sashimi, seasoned egg and green onion. The Kamameshi they said would take 30 minutes to prepare so I will try it next time. Also got the croquettes and pork gyoza. They also have a wide assortment of beverages like Arnold palmers and peach/mango teas. Excellent service too and a very cool interior atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out!

Cute and casual ramen spot in the WOW Center on Westheimer. I really loved the vibe, casual but chic. Their menu style is great: not an overwhelming amount of options, but just enough, with different portion sizes to choose from, which I appreciate. I ordered the Black Garlic ramen, and it was perfect. The portion was just right for one person, plenty of noodles, piping hot, and the broth was delicious creamy, garlicky, and full of flavor. The pork was very good and not too fatty. Honestly, everything about it was delicious. The only thing I'd love to see is more topping options to customize. Other than that, I really enjoyed my meal and will definitely be back!

    Curry katsu don
    Hudson N.

TLDR: curry katsu don- OK Kitchen- clean and visible Tsukemen- uncharacteristically expensive Service- friendly Good beer special This was a beautiful curry katsu don, but it was spicier than what one would expect for Japanese cuisine and the curry was a bit bland. I'm used to the curry Katsu Don being purely, savory, with a little bit of heat coming from the curry alone. I felt there must've been some pepper in the breading, which I don't feel is normal for this dish and wouldn't prefer. However, ambience is very nice, and they have a good deal on beer, and you can see the chefs doing their work in the kitchen, which makes one very confident in the cleanliness of the operation. Furthermore, this is one of the only places where you can really find tsukemen-- however, I did not order this because, although in Japan it was but nine dollars, it was more than $20 on the menu here. However, I think that this must be one of their specialty dishes, being one of the only restaurants in Houston to offer it, and also because I observed some of the patrons going to town on their cold dip Ramen.

Went for their Naruto collab. I've definitely heard mixed reviews of Tsujita. The restaurant is not too busy, with plenty of seating and is in the Westheimer Plaza with lots of parking. It was decorated with tons of Naruto banners and wall decals and on the left wall, they were projecting episodes. Kpop and anime songs played overhead. They forgot to give us the special collab coaster, or they ran out but didn't tell us. We got the Naruto crispy chicken buns and the katsu curry (chicken and pork). Pricing wise, it was about $50 for two people. The curry is reminiscent of the deeper, darker gogo curry mix that I really like, but otherwise didn't have much other mix ins like potatoes or carrots. The chicken was crispy and the rice was nice and sticky. The buns had crispy chicken with a good spicy kick. This is probably going to be standard pricing nowadays with inflation and portion size wise, each entree would probably be enough for two meals. I wish they had the lunch menu specials available on the weekends because I was really interested in trying their egg sandos. Overall, not bad, not anything I'd go out of my way for, but I might be convinced if they have more anime collabs in the future and I was in the area.

    Thea W.

I got the regular Tonkonsu ramen and honestly there wasn't much flavor to it. It was decent for lunch but I wouldn't drive out of my way and expect life changing flavor. The egg was delicious though! Prices are decent and food came out pretty quickly!

    Henry Y.

Always good to add another ramen shop to Houston, especially this part of town. Plus, this isn't any ramen shop, it's a branch from LA's Tsujita, so at least you can expect some level of quality. Price-wise, very fair tbh. You can pay a little more for premium, or spicy versions. Broth is solid and creamy. Tonkotsu is at a good level of cook. Maybe it's because it's still new, but they have a lot of different specials going on, so we got a chashu bowl for $6 and calamari for free, so take advantage of the specials while you can! Pretty spacious inside, with a large table that is perfect for big groups. Staff is friendly. Lots of parking because it's inside the up-and-coming Westchase plaza that has Teso, 99 Ranch, Onodera, GEN, Lady M, and the Alley. Worth a visit, will have to get the tsukemen (their OG dish) next time.

    Calamari Appetizer
    Eric T.

Tsujita is famous for its tsukemen, or dipping ramen. Unfortunately during my visit I did not order its most famous dish. The dishes that I did try included the calamari appetizer and the karaage rice bowl. Both of these dishes were very good and cooked to perfection. The karaage in particular was crispy and juicy and had a light soy based sauce drizzled on top. They also offer lunch deals where you can get a smaller sized ramen and a rice bowl which my friends went for and were more than full afterwards. The decor is very nice and each table has a lot of space. The service was quite fast when we visited on a Friday around 11am. I hope to return soon to try their ramen, more specifically their famous tsukemen.

I was very surprised. And my broth was so delicious. It had such a rich umami flavor due to the miso & I thought the spice level was perfect. Honestly - I could eat jhst that broth for a whole meal. Unlike buldak or some other spicy ramens - the main selling point wasn't the spice. You could get an additional "spice bomb" if you wanted some more heat. The ramen toppings were good but not outstanding - same with the noodles. I thought the "mi-so-hot" was easily 3x better than "the og". The broth in "the og" was pretty interesting and more unique tasting. It felt like the main notes were just umami, pork, and oil. Not bad, but felt like it was missing a little something to make it truly good. If I had just got the OG, I'd rate this place a bit lower - but as it stands I'd 100% come back here for the "mi-so-hot" The interior was pretty nice. It was more "communal style seating" with a couple of big tables. There is also some smaller booths. It's an "order at the counter" type restaurant as well. I saw several comments about parking & was a bit concerned when driving over. I know that part of westheimer is always packed! But there is an attached parking lot & at 3pm on a Sunday, there was plenty of parking! Also - there is some street parking in the neighborhood north of the shop. Overall - will 100% be coming back for some more spicy ramen. Would recommend

Tantan Tsukemen - Very interesting broth. Potent, salty, and full of bold flavor. My friend swapped the pork for chicken, and the chicken worked really well with the broth. They serve the chicken as a cold cut. This is a double-noodle dish with a soy milk-based dipping sauce. I normally would have ordered this because I LOVE tantan ramen, but I had to forgo it for the limited-time Creamy Truffle Ramen. Creamy Truffle Ramen - LOVED the broth. It was very light and creamy. I actually liked this a lot more than tonkotsu ramen. The truffle wasn't too overwhelming--just mild enough to hint at its flavor without becoming the only flavor profile you get. Truffle is like baking with rose water; finding that balance is quite hard. I will admit the whole table smelled like truffles, though. The torched king oyster mushroom paired wonderfully with the dish, and the broccolini was an equally interesting topping choice. I also found bits of melted Parmesan throughout the ramen, which the menu listed as an ingredient. The egg wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was still a decent soy egg. As I kept eating, the truffle oil became more intense, and the fattiness started to get a bit overwhelming without washing it down with water. Great flavor overall, but I think this dish is best paired with an appetizer to help cut through the richness. One of my favorite things about this place, which my BF mentioned, was the noodle texture. I noticed it too as I ate--a good bite with a slick texture that was just starchy enough to cling to the broth. We had leftover noodles from the Tantan Tsukemen at the end of the meal and ended up using the Creamy Truffle broth as a dipping sauce. Honestly, no regrets. The cold noodles didn't work quite as well in this dish, but the broth was definitely a banger. This was also the first ramen broth I couldn't finish but desperately wanted to bring home. (Obviously, I did.) Their to-go containers are surprisingly sleek, too. It's a weird thing to compliment, but I almost wanted to keep the container as much as the broth. Special comment on the utensils here--the soup spoons are ridiculously cute! Would love to have a similar set at home. Overall, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was thoughtful. The music wasn't too loud, and it wasn't that crowded for a Saturday night. They do play a lot of popular Japanese songs, so if you're an international music enthusiast, you'll appreciate hearing "Mayonaka no Door" by Miki Matsubara.

On one side it was a slightly spicy pork ramen with corn in a in a red broth. The other side had shrimp tempura and bamboo shoots in like a white broth. I think I like the red one better. The pork was tender and flavorful. I like the shrimp tempura on the white side, but I found the broth salty. It was a nice touch of color and brought in that bright, juicy onion flavor that I crave. Noodles were perfect texture. Not too hard or mushy. This bowl feels made to focus on the broth and flavor and not so much an instagram post. Delicious!! My only complaint was a very very very slight bitterness in the background. I couldn't pin where it was coming from. Maybe that's a risk of simmering bones for so long. I'll keep this short because I couldn't just eat my moms bowl... The Yuzu shio broth was clearer, with bright, citrusy, and savory body. The bamboo shoots were golden (grilled?) with a little snap to it. Reminds me of a king oyster mushroom. This is really a unique broth and I haven't had anything like it. You should definitely try it! Restaurant: clean, neat, every table literally has its place /orientation. Deep wood furniture, honeyed lighting, and dark window shades give the restaurant a cozy chic ambience despite visiting around noon. Good food, great service. Great prices. Large portions.
