Needed a quick breakfast on a long road trip. The restaurant is located in a truck stop/casino. There are 8 tables and a counter you can sit at. There was only one waitress and she did a good job. Menu is simple - one page for all day service. The breakfast burrito is decent size - fills you up for most of the day. You can choose cheese and what kind of meat you want inside. Comes with a side of salsa (with a little kick) and sour cream. I did a build your own omelette- cheese, sausage, mushrooms, and onions. It was more like scrambled eggs with everything but the cheese mixed in, cooked up and then folded over. The shredded cheese was then melted on top. Different way to make it, but still pretty tasty. Tu Ka Khan...in the Paiute language, means "place to eat". This morning, I came to this place to eat buttermilk biscuits smothered in country gravy with a side of eggs, sunny side up. The egg came separate, but I like to put it on top and have the golden yolk drip all over the luscious gravy. For a truck stop place called Moapa Paiute Travel Plaza on the corner of I-15 and The Valley of Fire, on the way to Lake Mead... it's remote. When you drive in, the outside building has a Casino sign, and you have to drive around to the side. Around back, there's no signage. You have to enter the truck stop store to find the restaurant inside, among all the souvenir trinkets and food stop stuff. It's out of the way, but you shouldn't skip breakfast. Last minute camping trip at Valley of Fire and we were too lazy to cook at camp so we drove here... the only food place in the area turned out to be not a bad choice! Such an extensive menu for just an eatery inside a gas station / convenient store / liquor store. We got a tuna melt, a burger, and their sampler platter. Tuna melt was delicious. ** UPDATE** I'm so done with this business!! They use to be pretty good and now I don't even know. I was very understanding when they were messing up when covid 19 hit and when their busy I get it, mistakes happen. But today was the final straw. For starters I called 20 minutes in advance for my order so we can pick it up and go. We get here. The lady Victoria has the worst attitude. She is not welcoming. She had an attitude with a face expression like she is pissed off at the world. We told her we called it in she said what's the order we start telling her and she puts it down all as a new order. We ended up waiting 40 + minutes for our food. And ALL OF IT IS WRONG OR MISSING. we got a chicken Alfredo with extra chicken and salad. It comes with 2 pieces of garlic bread. We also got a double cheese burger with bacon and potato Chips. I didn't get potato chips instead I got some cold soggy fries. The burger was missing a lot of the stuff that its suppose to come with like the onion and pickles. The garlic bread isn't here. When I went back to get the missing garlic bread she picked up someone else's garlic bread off the counter that has been sitting there with a different order and when I asked for a fresh one she legit said "no". After this all happened I didn't go back for months. Recently I tried going again and it's just getting worse and worse. There is always dirty tables all over the place. Sometimes they don't want to answer the phone for phone orders so when I walk in to place my order thinking maybe they are busy, they will literally just be standing around on their phones. They keep getting orders completely wrong. They will charge me for extra things I ask for but not give it to me for example : bacon on my burger or extra chicken on my chicken Alfredo. This was the only place to eat except subway on the way to the park. Location: in the gas station. It's sufficient but not great. It seems their specials are on a wide spectrum which is good. I wish I was here on Tuesday for the fry bread two. That looked good from the yelp cover photo for this place. Had the regular tacos, onion rings, and two eggs with hash browns and toast. Everything is made to order which is good. The onion rings are lacking in my opinion. They're overly greasy, very little onion, and they're not salted. The ranch to go with them was visibly watered down. The tacos were good. Reminds me of a fast food chain's Tacos. I thought this is a hole-in-a-wall restaurant which would add some taste for the day trip to Valley of Fire. My group stepped in this service station/market without much expectation for food as they don't really show any sign outside. Menu was nothing special. However, this nothing-special feeling and their "we serve food and customer don't leave hungry" attitude was favorable and somehow nostalgic. Each serving had plenty of food. Again, it is a great breakfast stop alongside of I-15. This place won't be a purposefully destination by itself, but it is a good to stop when driving I-15 with empty stomach. read more

I give the 4 stars for what it is. For a gas station restaurant it is good, compared to a normal restaurant it wouldn't get 4 stars. I had a house salad and the potato skins, both were good. This restaurant is located inside the gas/convenience center, so our expectations were pretty low. However, we were starving after doing some hiking at Valley of Fire and were okay with anything. The waitress was not customer service oriented, our orders did not come back correct (wrong type of cheese, toast, etc), and the fries were undercooked. Instead of refilling our waters (they have other drinks but we were never asked if we wanted anything else), the waitress brought out a 32 oz cup of water for us to refill ours with. This is an affordable restaurant. It's nestled next to the convenience store. As a diabetic, my eating is low carb. I've never had a problem with food at this place. The choices are varied for those without health issues. During the Summer months, this is my usual route from Pennsylvania. In my opinion, breakfast is much better than lunch and dinner. It's still, (lunch and dinner) a few steps above the large, mega commercial truck stops. There's always parking. The fireworks that's this places' reputation isn't an issue. Its a small spot next to where you buy the fireworks. Their food are pretty basic, their beef stew is really good though.

According to Amazon, the "med wt dominion superior 1-7" lightweight fork presented to me cost the restaurant a whopping 26 cents, and was no match for the $4.99 stones I had served for bisquits and gravy. The fork lost. I'm no expert but it seems like the cheap fork and the hard biscuits are juxtaposed in such a manner as to force an inverse relationship. (y=k/x) and in this context, failure is certain . A direct relationship must be achieved in order to succeed.(y=kx) (Please refer to attached chart) The harder the texture of the bisquits, the greater the strength of the 26 cent fork must be. You can't cut both corners just as you can't defy algabraic logic. Something had to give, and predictably the 26 cent fork yielded to the bending stress required to break off a piece of bisquit small enough to eat. They tasted OK so 3 stars. The real reason anyone comes here anyway is to buy fireworks so I'm happy. read more

Glad we stopped by here on the way to Brian Head, UT for a pit stop. The Tu Ka Khan eatery serves good food and the server is nice and friendly. Been there a couple of times, due mainly to convenience, I was working in the area. The menu is basically breakfast, sandwiches and burgers. The have also had Mexican specials both times I was there. One time I had the tacos, the other time a patty melt. Neither one was anything to get excited about. Frozen burger patty and frozen fries, ground beef tacos canned refried beans and rice. The only other place along I-15, between Las Vegas and Mesquite, is the Muddy River Grill. If I had to opt for one or the other, I would choose the Muddy River Grill. But if you're not working in the area, you might consider driving on to Las Vegas or Mesquite, depending on which direction you are going, to get something to eat. read more

The service was fine up until we ordered our food. Once we got it, the chicken we ordered was cold so we told the waitress and she offered to give us a sandwich which was fine so we took it. Once we went to pay, she charged us for both of the meals. We disagreed with this simply because we didn't want to pay for the meal that we didn't eat, but would gladly pay for the one that we did eat. When we mentioned that, the lady literally started yelling at us about how the chicken wasn't cold and how everyone in the kitchen touched it but clearly they touched the piece that wasn't bitten into because it was the center of the chicken, not the outside. After a little while of disagreement, me and my friend started to slightly laugh at the situation because the whole thing was ridiculous.
