Tu Ka Khan...in the Paiute language, means "place to eat". This morning, I came to this place to eat buttermilk biscuits smothered in country gravy with a side of eggs, sunny side up. The egg came separate, but I like to put it on top and have the golden yolk drip all over the luscious gravy. For a truck stop place called Moapa Paiute Travel Plaza on the corner of I-15 and The Valley of Fire, on the way to Lake Mead... it's remote. When you drive in, the outside building has a Casino sign, and you have to drive around to the side. Around back, there's no signage. You have to enter the truck stop store to find the restaurant inside, among all the souvenir trinkets and food stop stuff. It's out of the way, but you shouldn't skip breakfast. So have a great day.

I went here after working at a remote communications site in Moapa. The server was very friendly, the restaurant is clean and the Philly wrap was AMAZING. I will definitely be back.

Last minute camping trip at Valley of Fire and we were too lazy to cook at camp so we drove here... the only food place in the area turned out to be not a bad choice! Such an extensive menu for just an eatery inside a gas station / convenient store / liquor store. We got a tuna melt, a burger, and their sampler platter. Tuna melt was delicious. The burger was okay and the sampler platter was okay. Service was great.

I rarely give 5 stars and truly didnt expect much from a gas station/casino/gift shop meal but it was incredible from the moment i stepped in I was greeted by a friendly waitress who apparently loves her job, loves life and was a breathe of fresh air! The food... huge portions and so satisfying. The resturant is so incredibly clean too. I just have nothing bad to say about this place! Even the bathrooms are well done. (And they have a sharps container!) Well done

Really awesome place Great prices. Rapid service Surprisingly not salty and not greasy. Long open hours and great for a meal while passing to and from the valley of fire.

Excellent patty melt!

My work requires that I'm in the area often, so I eat here regularly. The food ranges from OK to pretty good. Hey, it's a truck stop diner. What do you expect? However, today my granddaughter and I both got the patty melt. I'm glad she did because she verified my feelings about it: simply outstanding! We both agreed that it's just about perfect. Crispy, cheesy, gooey, seasoned just right. I can't think of a more perfect way to ruin all the hard work a hiker from the Valley of Fire puts in than this thing of beauty. Service is always good here, too.

Don't be fooled that it's inside a Chevron , with gift shop, and Casino.

Absolutely fantastic, I found this place is it in the Chevron, Casino Kama convenience store. My wife had the chicken alfredo pasta and I had the beef burrito that turned out to be steak. It was fantastic

I thought this is a hole-in-a-wall restaurant which would add some taste for the day trip to Valley of Fire. My group stepped in this service station/market without much expectation for food as they don't really show any sign outside. Menu was nothing special. However, this nothing-special feeling and their "we serve food and customer don't leave hungry" attitude was favorable and somehow nostalgic. Each serving had plenty of food. Again, it is a great breakfast stop alongside of I-15. This place won't be a purposefully destination by itself, but it is a good to stop when driving I-15 with empty stomach.

Its a small spot next to where you buy the fireworks. Their food are pretty basic, their beef stew is really good though.

Once I stepped foot inside and saw a completely packed house with an hour and a half wait and barely standing room at the bar, I knew it was worth whatever wait or process I had to go through. Ultimately I lucked out as an individual. I was able to snag a bar top seat pretty quickly and had I known then I was sitting down to what was going to be one of the best meals of my life, I would have been visibly more excited. Not only was the service absolutely top notch, the people and the regulars there were extremely friendly and outgoing. The vibe was perfect, a strange mix of a place that felt like it had been there for 200 years yet was somehow high energy and vibey. From a killer cocktail recommendation to one of the best steaks I've had in my life and coming from Oklahoma City, where I work a mile away from the stockyards and can get great quality fresh beef six ways from Sunday, that's saying a lot. I usually despise most things truffle but if I was forced to eat that truffle mac and cheese every day for the rest of my life I would consider it a life well lived. While I would have never ordered it on my own, a customer next to me recommended the porn star cocktail and I have to say it was also one of the most delicious things I've ever had in my life. Ten out of ten, top notch experience. Would recommend. Will be back every time I'm in Vegas, no questions asked.

Food is made fresh to order so you will have to wait longer than usual which is good because you know it hasn't been sitting under a heat lamp. I definitely loved what we ate, but would probably skip the Triple Play. The spinach dip tasted a little different, I wish it had more cheese and I wish the salsa was the same size as the guacamole. The drinks were so yummy and the best thing was the Rigatoni Bolognese, so much flavor, so much meat sauce! They definitely were generous on the portion size which is rare and definitely worth what you're paying for. The Cobb salad was typical but it was so good, I loved how everything was nicely cut so I can eat it easily. Almost thought we were in the wrong place because it's nestled behind this resort-style, luxury apartment complex--just follow the signs. Ni was our server and everyone was seated at the bar. Such a fun group of people and communal atmosphere. Not to mention that the wings were some of the biggest I've ever had. Just 6 wings would've been a whole meal, but I ended getting the arugula salad with chicken, too (not pictured). They are not shy on the portion sizes based on what else I saw of everyone else's plates.

I had been looking forward to visiting this spot for karaoke night, and overall my friends and I…read morehad a genuinely great time -- but there were a few things that kept it from being a perfect experience. Let me start with the positives, because there were plenty. The moment I walked in and saw the open outdoor space, I was immediately charmed. There's something really special about an open-air venue in Las Vegas -- it has a relaxed, laid-back energy that you don't always find on or near the Strip. The atmosphere was fun and lively, and it was clear that people were there to have a good time. The karaoke DJ was absolutely the highlight of the night. He was talented, enthusiastic, and incredibly warm and welcoming -- the kind of host who makes everyone feel like a star whether they can sing or not. I also loved the karaoke app, which notifies you when your turn is coming up. That's such a thoughtful touch and takes so much anxiety out of the experience. Karaoke kicked off at 10pm and the energy in the room was infectious once it got going. The drinks were good -- well-made and enjoyable -- though on the pricier side for what you'd expect at a casual karaoke vegas bar. Not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing going in. Now for the constructive feedback, shared in the spirit of hoping this venue reaches its full potential: The table reservation situation was genuinely confusing and a bit stressful. I had made what I believed to be a table reservation ahead of time, but when we arrived, the host at the door informed us that table reservations aren't actually accepted. I showed her my reservation confirmation, and unfortunately she was dismissive about it rather than empathetic or helpful. For a group arriving excited for the night, that interaction set a frustrating tone. A little kindness and acknowledgment -- even just "I'm so sorry for the confusion, let me help you find a spot" -- would have gone a long way. Because we couldn't be seated at the tables until 10pm, we were left waiting at the bar, which was extremely crowded with other guests in the same situation. Getting a drink was a real challenge with so many people packed in waiting for seating to open up. It felt like a bit of a bottleneck that could easily be improved with clearer communication upfront about the table policy -- or better yet, actually offering reservations. We also weren't able to order food at the Front Yard, which was a surprise. We ended up heading over to the Village Pub to eat, which worked out fine, but it would be so much more convenient to be able to grab a bite without leaving the venue. Despite all of that, my friends and I left smiling. The DJ truly carried the night, and the outdoor space is something Ellis Island should be proud of. With a few operational tweaks -- clearer reservation policies, a friendlier front-of-house experience, and maybe some food options -- the Front Yard could easily be one of the best karaoke spots in Las Vegas. We'd come back and give it another shot! :)

Buyer beware, the lobsters were warm water lobsters and not cold water lobsters...always ask before you order lobster in any restaurant. If it's not cold water lobster, it's just not the same. What was really disappointing was the service specifically from the waiter. He was quite condescending and rude to a number of the people at the table. He completely screwed up the orders and two people had to wait an additional 10 minutes to get their meal. If you want a good steak dinner in Las Vegas, go to Peter Lugers in Caesars. The Steer became our favorite place to return to. We've tried the bone in ribeye a few times, the lobster, the filet, salmon, sea bass, and I believe the NY strip. I got the white fish one time because I wanted mixed veggies and they didn't have them as a separate side dish. I'm obsessed with the twice baked potatoes and hubby gets the broccoli without cheese, we typically share mushrooms and I've tried the Caesar a few times. My most recent visit was on July 1st to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. Our reservation was for 9:45 pm which made me nervous. Somehow the staff here can tolerate these late nights. They did not rush us and I felt like it was 8 pm and not after 10. I love how they always have a fun story about times long gone. This time we sat at Joe DiMaggio's second booth. He's the only star with 2 booths. You can look online for the story behind that. We've had the pleasure to engage with their sommelier several times. He always suggests something nice and we try a new wine. One time it was Silver Oak and on Wednesday it was a 2009 from Macaulay Vineyards. I made another reservation already because Golden Steer is in high demand. I believe we will come back for years to come.
