Lazy Dog has one of the best Happy Hours in the valley. Items start at $4 and there's such a good selection of options. First, one of my favorites is the Chicken Lettuce Wraps - the chicken has great flavor, water chestnuts give it a nice crunch and the romaine pieces actually work well in keeping the chicken in the lettuce. The Red Pepper Hummus is very tasty. You get several pieces of crisps and a veggie variety. You definitely get enough items to finish the hummus - I love that. The chili cucumbers were a really nice surprise. I had never tried this before and it was refreshing. Light mix of sauces on cold crisp cucumbers. It's a great low cal appetizer! Lastly, the cheesecake was delicious. Smooth, soft with plenty of berry taste. It didn't sit heavy which is what made it so good. Definitely - a dessert winner. And the service always plays a role in making it a great experience which is why I have to mention that the past week when we visited we were a little disappointed with that. We really enjoyed our dining experience at Lazy Dog S Las Vegas Blvd. It was a fun, kind of cowboy-themed, interior. We had Ismael as our server, and he was friendly, helpful with menu items (being it was our first time eating there) and attentive. I would highly recommend the lunch special - valued-received. Our experience at Lazy Dog was just okay. The first half of our meal was actually really enjoyable, but unfortunately a couple of things changed the experience for us. I specifically asked our server if the burrito bowl was spicy and was told that it wasn't. Unfortunately, it was so spicy that I couldn't eat it. I completely understand that everyone has a different tolerance for spice, but I wish the description from our server had been more accurate so I could have ordered something else. We also brought our dog with us, who is a rescue that we are working on socializing. She was doing really well until another couple with two dogs was seated directly next to us. There were several other open tables in the area, so it was frustrating that the dogs were placed right beside one another when it could have easily been avoided. We absolutely understand that bringing our dog to a restaurant adds another layer of responsibility on our end, and we don't expect special treatment. At the same time, at a restaurant that actively welcomes dogs, a little more thought about spacing parties with dogs apart when other tables are available would make the experience much more comfortable for everyone. Not a terrible experience, but definitely some opportunities to be more thoughtful and attentive. read more

This was my daughter and I's first visit and we were excited to try their food. We found the menu quite varied, with items ranging from healthy to not so healthy selections, so I opted for the healthy "Protein Crunch Bowl" with salmon, and I also ordered a side of whole grain bread as an accompaniment to increase the fiber. Here is what we discovered: My daughter's burger was cooked perfectly, and the ranch dressing she ordered appeared to be made fresh, in-house. Unfortunately, the fries were batter-coated and she could not eat them due to the gluten content. She was happy with the meal, however, and learned from her mistake, so she'll order a different side next time. My salad was perfectly sized; in fact, I was unable to eat the entire thing, so I focused on the proteins. I was a bit disappointed in the salmon as it was extremely dry and over cooked. Aside from that misstep, the flavor and freshness of the other ingredients made up for the dry salmon. The bread was AMAZING! Loved the flavor of the whole grains and I meant to ask if it was baked in house or purchased. I'd love to know the brand of bread they use if it's not baked in house, cause it was really good. Our service was quite slow, but it was Friday in Vegas and the place was hopping. Next time we'll pick a weekday to see if service improves. First negative experience at a Lazy Dog. The food was edible, overpriced. 15 cheese curds for what- $12? The "crunchy" healthy bowl (or whatever it was called) was only "crunchy" because of the overbaked chickpeas. (I would know they are overbaked because I have screwed up baking them before). The waitress was the kindest but the kitchen staff were slow and the manager + cooks don't know what "medium well" is; the manager claims a burger that looks medium rare is their version of "medium well." It shouldn't take 30 min to cook a burger, period. 70% of the patio seats were filled and only about half of the interior seats were filled. It seemed "regular busy" for lunch time. Regardless, 30 minutes is a long time to wait for cold fries and a medium rare burger. The manager kept interrupting me while I was trying to inform her it took 30 min to receive the medium rare burger and we would like to ask for the replacement to be boxed to go, especially if it takes another 30 min. She just talked over me, not giving the time and courtesy of allowing me (the customer) to request anything. Again - the waitress was kind and did her job. I blame the kitchen staff and the manager for our negative experience. I didn't get the manager's name, as she did not introduce herself. She seemed to have only one motive to speak to us: to defend the way the burger was cooked and to move on to the next customer. Ultimately another manager came out to bring the cooked burger and was very polite and offered $10 off coupons for our next visit. read more

We made a reservation but there was no problem getting a table on the patio at 6:30 on a Thursday night. For dinner we shared a three part small plate sampler ($24) and the seared ahi tuna salad($22). Too much food for the three of us to finish. The ahi tuna salad and the Brussel sprouts were my favorites. Patio dining can get a bit noisy when a plane landing at Reid Airport is coming in (a not infrequent event).
