I was a flat lander tourist during our visit for one night in the area after taking the family to story land. Was drawn into the restaurant from the looks of the menu online and proximity to our hotel. Atmosphere was nice. Was thrown off when a party that came in after us was seated before us but that can happen for various reasons and have zero impact on how our experience was In the review , but that confusion is how it started. I've been with my wife 10 years now and in all our time at a restaurant we've never sent back food or requested to talk to a manager and we had done both in our one visit here. After being seated it was downhill from there. Took a long time to get 2 milks , a ginger ale, and a water so we knew where this visit was going , but couldnt believe how far it went. Ordered 2 kids meals, a baked fish meal, and wagyu flank steak meal. Could not get a refill on water if my life depended on it. When a different worker brought out the food it was missing one kids meal and worker left quickly. We started to eat while waiting and the wagyu flank steak had no flavor. No seasoning on it . And for the veggie medley there was 4 green beans and 5 pieces of squash in comparison to my wife's with the same veggies had quadruple of mine. Which I thought was bizarre. But same with my wife's baked fish, No flavor at all. just tasted like water. Nothing worse than bad seafood in New England . When the waitress went to the table next to us I had asked again for the same one refill of water for a third time , explained the fish issue, questioned where the heck the kids meal was. Her reason for the kids burger was that the grill was backed up ... my wife sent back the bad water fish and requested just the chicken wing app to replace it to have something quick to eat because the waitress said it would be out in no time and 2 of the 4 of us had a plate in front of us already . Over 15 min later the kids cheese burger came out and with the wrong side dish. Still no water refill from my first request at this now 4th request. There were no chicken wings with her but she had the dipping sauce. The table next to us with a party of at least 8 that had eaten most of their meal also now asked for water. I have no idea how long we've waited for everything and at this point and with how bad this all was no adults ate. We fully lost our appetite. We told her to just pack the wings to go, this is crazy. After waiting even longer my wife left with our 1 year old because why stay. I waited with my 4 year old so he can finally eat something. Finally the wings came and finally a refill on water if you can believe it! When the waitress notices my wife and child gone and asked how were things were I asked for the check and a manager. When she left to the table next to us with the water she only brought a pitcher which was fine for me, none of them even had glassware for the water. When she left that table was already watching the horror show at our table and had a few opinions mentioned to me about their time there. I can't speak for everything they felt but I can say they said how they could have all had food with taste at home as their food was tasteless also. When the manager came up and nicely asked how things were I explained how "this was the worst dining out experience we've ever had in my life. " He was shocked but yet understanding and seemed like he wanted to do a gift card or something because he asked numerous times if we were around to come back again. Also asked how we heard of the place. Explained we search online for something close. He mentioned something like how their reviews don't show this is not a normal thing... I explained we were only here for one dinner and I'm not here for any free meals. We ordered what we ordered and is what it is, I simply needed to explain how bad this was for us. He was happy to be informed but insisted on doing something. The guy came back and stated he took 50% off which was nice and not asked for in any way, but when looking at the now paid check it has some type of abbreviation lettering with 50% next to it but only totaling $20 off the $80 check. At which point he explained how he was actually the owner. Do individuals or facilities just have a bad night here or there ? Yes, absolutely. Could be a multitude of reasons. But hearing the experience of others around us and with how bad our own was and it just not having been handled or fixed prioritized at any point with the waitress and kinda imo the owner as well I won't go back at any point in the future on our yearly trips to that area. If this is not normal per him and their reviews then we won't waste our little time in that area on something inconsistent and mediocre at best. read more

We spend a lot of time in the white mountains of New Hampshire. We had no idea this place existed! We saw a billboard from N 16 and decided to try it out. Right now they're only open 4-9, so we hit the joint at 4:09. Good thing too, because by the 4:45 the place was packed and on a wait. In the summer months they have a nice outdoor patio and live music. Our server was delightful, though the host was not as friendly, odd, since he's the first thing you see. Anyway, we were sat at a cute booth with old time photos of men and women along tuckerman's ravine on Mount Washington. We started with drinks, the "hot fluff" as amazing! Then, to start we got skillet corn bread with a pecan honey butter... drool worthy. Then after that we each got a main dish, mine was cranberry pot roast, absolutely to die for. My mom got a New York strip and was very delighted indeed! All around this cute tavern had a great environment, good staff and great food, we can't wait to swing through the next time we're in the area ! What a great find for us! Seriously good! From the hostess to the server to the food & bussers. My SO and I were looking for a place on an early Tuesday evening. Not that easy in the MWV area. Tuckerman's Tavern was recommended by someone at The Beggar's Pouch (where my SO got himself some awesome leather driving gloves). The parking lot was filled, even though it was early. The hostess was very friendly and we were seated right away at a nice booth in the dining room. I had a chance to check out the bar area, which is very big and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. Our waitress, Niki, was fabulous! Just a genuine, happy soul who was knowledgeable about the menu options. It was too hard to decide what to get & we weren't that hungry , so we just ordered: House salad - nice & crispy Skillet Cornbread - like a dessert! Interval Barrata Caprese - Delish! Clam Chowdah - Great! Burger (rare) cooked perfectly! Wasabi Salmon (medium as Niki suggested) Yum! Short Rib Nachos - where have you been all my life? Guinness - Got the last one, was a little flat but ok Virgin Bloody Mary-spicy w/all the fixin's! Perfect! I won't bore you with telling you how awesome each dish tasted. Everything was delicious. Of course we couldn't finish everything but I can tell you even the nachos tasted great the next day! We're so happy we have found a new favorite place to go. The atmosphere is wonderful & it's not too loud so we can hear each other across the table (which is always an issue since we have hearing problems). Tuckermans is the true North Conway local experience and we love coming every time we are in the area! Love the patio area and the vibe of the relaxing scene with high quality food. Highly recommend the fried chicken naan sandwich, sooo good. Also you MUST get the nachos!!! The only reason I cannot give five stars is because the outside bar does not have access to the inside bar stock which felt very inconvenient for a friend who was looking to drink something in particular. We are visiting the area. Someone local recommended this place. We dined in the bar at a hightop, which was nice. They also have outdoor tables, and a dining room. And a lounge with couches! I had a delicious and generous Cobb salad. It was beautifully presented also (wish I took a pic). I will have another meal from it. My date had the prime rib sandwich. Also delicious and substantial. Easily the best bar and restaurant in North Conway area. Unbelievable food and drinks with the staff/service being top notch. Can't say enough good things about this place. I would give them six stars if possible. Our family discovered this gem in the woods and were blown away by everything from the service to the very creative menu. Our party of 6 consisted of four adults and two children (5 year old and 2 year old). The kids' meals were served before the adult entrees as requested and looked and tasted great. White meat chicken with a delicious breading and French fries that would please anyone regardless of age. The grown-ups enjoyed Beef Wellington (special), Rack of Lamb, Bacon encrusted meatloaf and Short Rib Mac & Cheese. Each dish tasted even better than described. It can be a struggle to find a restaurant open during the middle of the week this time of year so when we decided to give this place a shot, I honestly had meh expectations. However, this place blew my husband and I away. It was the best meal we've had in N. Conway. The fish and chips were light and perfectly fried. The fries were a real highlight, fresh not frozen. We also got the Tomahawk pork chop with mashed potatoes and veggies. The pork chop was cooked perfectly and the seasoning/sauce was just right. We had just come up for the week to Conway and were hungry. I, as always used Yelp to find a great place to eat. Tuckerman's Tavern's had 4 1/2 stars so we decided to try it. We are very glad we did, all of our meals were excellent! We were able to sit outside since we are still dealing w/ a pandemic and the waitstaff were excellent about following CDC guidelines. The burgers were outstanding cooked to perfection and well dressed. The baked haddock and chicken tenders were also top notch. Fresh cut french fries were plentiful as well as delicious. Our server Tim was wonderful, polite and prompt, and cocktails were excellent. Our Kids loved the pasta and ice cream. The calamari with banana peppers is the best I've ever had. The wife had the 8oz filet mignon which was cooked as she said "perfectly". The 16oz ribeye (med rare and cooked so) that I ordered was an odd looking cut. It was rectangular like a new York strip. Also lacked good marbling, and was pretty bland and tough to chew(could not finish, but issue with source not chef and rectified issue immediately). Other than my steak everything else was wonderful. Staying at New England we decided to order takeout from Tuckermans. My husband went over because they had stopped taking phone orders. I ordered the Savannah chicken. He ordered the shepherds pie, but when he brought it into the room They had forgotten the salads, which is understandable that can happen. They quickly provided them. However, my Savannah chicken was not savannah chicken I don't know what it was, but it was a chicken breast that was overcooked. There were no peaches or chutney, there were some string beans that were very hard and white rice. Very disappointing in this meal and I do intend to call them tomorrow because we are here for the week. My husband's shepherds pie was tasty, but the presentation being takeout did not look good. Tuckerman's restaurant sits behind what seems like a resort. Drive slow or you might pass it. Below are my (personal) ratings on eating at this establishment during a pandemic. Scale ranges from 1-10. 1 being the lowest, 10 the highest. Host, staff, service: 10 - everyone was extremely welcoming and polite) Food: 10 - I ordered a chicken sandwich, and their Chile soup. It was delicious. Chile was a bit on the sweet side but the spicy kick after each spoon offset it. Family enjoyed their calamari, not soggy, very well made. My kids loved the pizza. My family loved the place so much we ate dinner there again the next day. I ordered the Apple butternut squash busque. It was delicious, not very sweet but also not bitter. Just right! Pandemic precautions: 10- All staff wore masks, disinfected areas after each guest, and sat everyone 6 feet of more apart from each other. Ventilation was good as in we were a bit cold, but our beers kept us warm, lol. There is also patio seating outside. Overall- 10 across the board. Enjoy the beers, food and welcoming staff. Let me first say that the staff at Tuckerman's made this visit very pleasant. Jo-jo the hostess was so honest and accommodating. Apparently there are only two places in Jackson that are open on a Tuesday night and they are one of them. So there was a wait, but shorter than what she originally said for the bar. We just waited in our car and she texted us in 20 minutes. The bartender Christine was also very cool and made the best Dirty Pickle martini ever! The Tito's and soda cocktail was also very good. Then she made me a drink using Effen Cucumber Vodka that was fantastic! The food, however, was not that great. The onion soup was one-note, because the onions were not caramelized at all. The burrata caprese ravioli were over fried and also very average. All in all, we were just so happy to have a place to eat and drink with friendly folks after a long day of traveling. The main course here did not super wow me. I ordered the short rib pasta dish that was pretty delicious but definitely over salted. I had to take a sip of water between every bite to cut the salty flavor and zing. The real winner here is the DESSERT! I would come back just the their desert trio. Our second visit to Tuckerman's Restaurant! We tried Tuckerman's last summer (2019) on a summer trip. It is on the way back to North Conway from Story Land. We enjoyed it in 2019 so much that this is one of our new favorites when in the area. We dined Saturday, July 11th for dinner. I was craving Prime Rib Dinner since COVID I couldn't find a restaurant serving it to go. We started with the Potato Skins. The Prime Rib is Excellent. And my family tried the new Chophouse Menu. During COVID, the tables are evenly spread out and no two tables are near each other. I felt safe dining here. Sounds strange to say this in 2020 but the restaurant is in a dead spot in terms of wireless service. They do have free wireless if you ask for the password.
