As a self proclaimed boba fanatic, I love to try new boba places when I see them. Usually I'm not in this part of town but thankfully I was and stopped by to check it out. When entering, you see how cute the inside is which include booths with nooks. There's also a variety of table top games to play while you're enjoying your boba too. There are so many great choices to choose from it was a hard choice. I went with the beautiful and colorful lychee variety which butterfly pea tea which is purple. I don't like popping boba and I swapped it for regular boba. It was so tasty and beautiful. I highly recommend this one. I also tried some of the coffee boba drink my boyfriend got and his was tasty too. The employees there today were very nice and helpful as well. I was craving a strawberry matcha while in the area and decided to give Tukan Tea a try. The interior is not like your typical bubble tea shop. Decor is chic and there's plenty of seating. Tukan Tea offers a wide range of drinks, including classic milk teas, fruity teas, creamy milkshakes, and specialty coffee. You can place your order on the touchscreen by the entrance or with a staff member behind the counter. I ordered a strawberry matcha with almond milk and boba. This is a relatively newer Boba place in South Gilbert. The space is pretty clean and new, and there are a couple of board games if you like to kill time in the shop. The Brown Sugar/Boba drinks are as good as you can get somewhere else. The fruit teas are okay. You can either order at the counter or at the kiosk, which is pretty convenient. TUKAN Tea Boba and Brew is a really cute little boba and tea spot in San Tan. We were just driving by and figured we do not get out to this area very often, so we might as well stop in and try it. I ordered an espresso with brown sugar boba and it was really good. The espresso tasted like quality coffee, which is not always the case at boba places, so that was a nice surprise. They do have self ordering tablets, so you place your own order, but the employees are still around and helpful if you need anything. My girlfriend needed to make a modification to her drink and they were friendly and quick to help her out. The atmosphere inside is great. There is a lot of seating, and they have little table games and some stacking block type games for kids, which is a nice touch. Overall, a great spot to grab a drink if you are in the area. My first impression of this tea shop - "Wow, did I walk into a Crate and Barrel in Japan?!" The vibe was perfect and I'm surprised that it's hidden in the middle of nowhere in Gilbert! Love the self-ordering aspect, and used to it from visiting Yi-Fang and other boba shops in LA. Makes things so much easier. The barista unfortunately approached me and informed me that they ran out of matcha, so I switched my order to a lavender macchiato. A bit disappointed because my mind and tongue were so set on matcha. My friend ordered a Cintron drink and she said 50% of sweetness was just right! At this point, the lavender drink is not super memorable, but I am encouraged to go back because I would give it another chance and hope I'll get what I want next time when I visit. read more

We've been coming to Tukante in Gilbert fairly regularly and have always had good experiences, which is why this visit was so disappointing. On Friday around 4:45 p.m., we ordered on the kiosk and were told our names would be called when our drinks were ready. Our names were never called. Since there was only one other group in the store and we had ordered first, we realized the drinks sitting on the counter were ours and walked up to get them. The employee behind the counter didn't say a single word. She placed straws on top of the drinks, and I politely said, "We already grabbed our straws." Without saying anything, she snatched the straws off the drinks, tossed them back into the straw container, turned around, and walked away. It wasn't about expecting over-the-top customer service. I don't need five-star hotel treatment. But a simple acknowledgment, eye contact, or even a "thank you" is basic courtesy. Instead, the interaction made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable after spending our money there. One employee can completely change a customer's impression of a business. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I won't be coming back. read more

Inside felt cozy, and there is plenty of seating. Ordered one bubble tea to split via the kiosk. Waited probably 20-25 min for the single tea ! We took the time to just chat, but based on the number of customers, it felt like a long wait. The individual working looked SUPER stressed, and was profusely making teas, so possibly online orders coming in?? I decided to try something new and ventured out to Tukan Tea. It's in a shopping plaza with a Lowe's and other small businesses so parking isn't too limited. The inside of this place was very clean, modern, and inviting. I ordered the pandan matcha latte with boba. It was very refreshing to see them actually use a matcha whisk to prepare the matcha. The drink wasn't too bad but the pandan flavor was easily overtaken over by the matcha. The boba was also cooked well. Service was good. First off, I judge any boba place by their basic brown sugar milk tea. If you can nail the basics, you can make any drink taste great -- just saying. Unfortunately, this spot didn't have it (or at least that's what the staff told me), so I ordered the fresh milk with brown sugar boba as an alternative. It was good -- like, really good -- but it felt like it was missing something. Maybe a little more brown sugar? Or maybe if they coated the cup with syrup, it'd pack more flavor. I'm not totally sure, but even with that, it was still pretty darn delicious. Now listen... the strawberry Dubai chocolate in a cup? That was IT for me. Omg, let me tell you -- the price was so worth it. Absolutely delicious, and the strawberries? So fresh, so perfectly picked. I'm begging you, please keep this on the menu. I just discovered a new Tea place by Gilbert Regional Park, and I really like it. I ordered the Brown sugar with Matcha, and the Jaguar Tea. Jaguar tea with 75% sweetness was perfect. The Matcha one I really needed to shake and stir well before drinking, otherwise it will be too sweet. They have a lot of small green plants in the shop that you can buy, and board games you can play with friends. I am craving that Jaguar Tea again. Gotta go back tomorrow for more. read more

We tried Tukan Tea that's right down South Gilbert (across from Gilbert Regional Park). The store was newly renovated and just opened. It looks great. They have two methods of ordering and payment: counter or electronic machine. I chose to place my order in person. The owner was taking orders and was a very friendly man. There were two little girls helping restock cups to the counter. When you see a new place open that has the whole family pitching in and helping, it definitely makes you want to continue to support them. I ordered the taro milk tea with boba. It was sweetened well (not too sweet) and the boba was fresh. I was happy with my choice. Next time I'd like to try the pina cola drink or the regular milk tea with boba. FYI: the kids menu items and the regular menu overlap. This may cause your kid's order to have jelly instead of bursting boba. Owner rectified issue quickly. read more

Drinks aren't bad but not amazing. Located in the corner of Higley and Queen Creek within the strip of businesses - Verizon, batch cookies, Banner Health, etc... My kids and I were greeted when we walked in on a Saturday afternoon. You can order at the kiosk or up front with someone, which is what I did. It's a pretty spacious place, cute and clean. There's a couple tables, booths, a couch plus seating along the windows. Oh and a kiddie table with games, my kids enjoyed that. My suggestion is to put a garbage container up front maybe by the door. I couldn't find it at first but it's behind the plant in the back across from the booths. I ordered the strawberry creamy cloud and mango crush for my kids. A lil too sweet for me but my kids liked it bc hey what kids don't like sweet? It also tastes like they use powder instead of fresh fruit but I will have to ask next time. You can ask to adjust the sugar level, it's just not shown on their menu. I ordered the matcha oat milk which is basically the brown sugar matcha but not blended. I got that at 50% and it was decent (but I've had better) so I imagine at 100% it would be like diabetes sweet. Service was great, ambiance is nice and the drinks were ok. Not a bad place to go if you live super close and you need that boba fix asap. But for me, I have other places I prefer and will drive the extra 10 mi for it... read more

TUKAN TEA - AN IN-DEPTH REVIEW I've been to Tukan Tea numerous times over the first half of this year - both alone and with friends. After some thought, I decided to share my full experience. Unfortunately, things aren't the same and I don't plan on returning. -- -- The Good: The ambience is great. The space is big, colorful, and great for studying or relaxing. There are three booths in the back which are perfect for large gatherings and they have games to play as well. They have plants from a local seller and baked goods from a small vendor, which I appreciate. Supporting other small businesses is a nice touch. Pricing is decent considering the portion sizes. They usually serve one large size by default, and many drinks include toppings. Some staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful. People like Moose, Elizabeth, Kayla, Calissa, and Tyler made customers feel welcome and they bring a positive attitude which makes connections feel genuine. It really made a difference having a team that engaged with customers. -- -- The Issues: Unfortunately, the quality has declined. I've noticed over time that older staff has been leaving and they're constantly looking for hires, and some recent hires don't offer the same level of service (there's a difference with being new which I understand). I've overheard awkward interactions (for example, the guy with glasses made some interesting responses when a customer declined joining rewards), and overall energy has shifted. Waiting times are longer, and service feels less professional. There are some new girls (I don't know their names but one them wears lots of bracelets). I've noticed that they seem close but don't do anything pertaining to their job, just talking. I don't want to put this all on staff though, as it reflects poor training and it's management's responsibility to make sure their staff is top-notch. It's clear the newer team wasn't fully prepared before being put behind the counter. Drink quality has also taken a hit. There's major inconsistency, especially in milk teas. It is clear that this tea shop uses artificial powders to make their drinks because certain flavored milk will leave a powdery after taste in your throat. I've noticed some staff restocking from the back and they bring their inventory to the kitchen as well. It's not a bad thing since there are other powder-tea shops that are great, but it does contradict their claim of using "only the highest quality ingredients." Some milk teas taste like nothing (even at full sweet), watery, or leave that lingering aftertaste I mentioned earlier. The Strawberry Milk Tea with cheese foam was very powdery, artificial, and started separating halfway through. More than half of the drinks taste generic or powdery or lack some sort of element that makes it stand out compared to other bubble tea locations. I elaborate more on the drinks in the pictures! Their boba is served hot/warm which is good, but the texture is overly slimy and lacks flavor which usually means the boba is not washed or has not been washed properly. Some drinks are safer picks like their brewed teas and lemonades. The Grapes Peach Tea and Red Dragon Lemonade are refreshing and hard to mess up. I dislike the Tuki Fruity though. The tea itself was fine, but the watermelon and pineapple was rubbery and far from fresh. You're better off skipping the fruit altogether. I also tried their Dubai Chocolate Strawberries. The kataifi was rubbery and stale. I'm assuming it's prepped ahead of time and kept in the fridge for storage but a bit too long. While their base pricing is fair, the way they handle extras and substitutions is frustrating. If you were to swap one topping for another, they'll charge you an extra 75 cents even though both toppings are standard and similarly priced. I've never seen a boba shop do that before and it'll shoot your total up. Some baristas won't charge you for substitutions and I'd do that too. My assumption is that it's a rule from management that they have to follow if they're there because no one should be charging for swaps. They also charge $1-$1.25 for split cups, and even more if you want to divide toppings between them. I don't want to elaborate on this because it says a lot already. . They used to charge 50 cents for water cups, but now it's bottled water for a slightly higher cost. Again, I won't go into much detail about that but you should never charge for water cups in Arizona. -- -- Lately, Tukan has felt more like a business that's cutting corners from drink quality to staffing that has passion for their job as well as pricing. Last week was the last time I came in to give it another shot, and it just isn't the same as it was at its peak when it was a newer business. My true rating for this place is 1.5 stars, but 1 is too harsh since I did enjoy smaller aspects beforehand. Tukan has the chance to do better things, but right now it's how it is. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. read more

I'm really impressed by this tea shop. It's rare I give any place 5 stars but I can't find anything negative so far. I love and hate that it's so close to our house because my husband will probably stop by a lot. It's also right by Gilbert Regional so it's a great place to hang out after play dates. Customer service is amazing. The cashier was super nice and helpful. The shop is very cute inside and spacious. You can order through a kiosk or at the register. They have a lot of specialty drinks that you can't find at other tea shops. I love that some of them also comes with toppings included in the price. This review comes after my 4th visit here. It's been great every time. I love the drinks here. I've only tried 3 but my favorite is definitely the Creamy Taro Brule. It's so good, the Brown Sugar Biscoff blended drink is also very very good but it's very sweet. The taro one is less sweet and is perfect in my opinion. The ambiance in here is nice, I love the way it's decorated. And the employees have always been helpful and friendly. Elizabeth and Moose have been the two employees that have helped me when I come in and their customer service and patience with me while I am questions about the menu is exemplary. They're both super sweet and friendly and recommended delicious drinks. I personally feel like this is the best boba store in Gilbert, possibly in all of Arizona. It's definitely one of my favorite boba places I've ever been to, and I love boba so I've tried many different places all across the US read more

Great boba drinks. 5 stars for that one. 3 stars taken off because the dubai chocolate strawberries were horrendous (1 star). Lacking in pistachio and kataifi tasted like cardboard. They don't make the kataifi by scratch which is fine, but at least make sure it is not expired. Strawberries are good though. But compared to other dubai chocolate strawberries in other area this is by FAR the WORST I've had. I recommend to remove this menu item and just have chocolate strawberries. Definitely get dubai chocolate strawberries from shops owned by Middle Easterners instead (everything hand made). read more

I ordered the Taro Ube Coconut and it was amazing. However this definitely is more like a dessert than anything else. The only thing that bothers me is the menu says "milk of choice", however, if you don't use whole milk, they charge you $.50. I find it confusing that the menu says pick your choice of milk but then they charge you for it. I would recommend adding that upcharge info to the menu. It would make things more clear. Other than that, I have loved my choice of drink so far. It is super delicious if you love coconut everything! read more

I feel terrible giving a small business a bad review but the drinks were okay and the Dubai chocolate strawberries were terrible. I would never recommend the Dubai chocolate strawberries. Absolutely not what it should be. It was all flakes and made like a 5 year old did it. There was literally no pistachio cream and the chocolate tasted disgusting and it was hard when they gave it to me making it extremely hard to eat. And I'm pretty sure the workers knew that and still gave it to me as they were laughing and ran back into the kitchen until we left then coming out to see if we left. Would not come back.
