We'd been driving all day without a charging cable, so grateful for that perk. You do have to have your own cable though. Appetizer: The Parmesan fries were delicious. The little biscuits were good, even though one had an extra crispy hard bottom. The honey butter is amazing. They need to market that on its own. Entrees: The butter noodles weren't as buttery as expected, and spicier than preferred. Requested no capers, but there were still some in it. The Caesar salad with crispy chicken was delicious. Dessert: The berry cheesecake is remarkable! It tastes like CHEESEcake but not cheesy. I'm all about the texture of food, and this was creamy but I could feel the cheese. I don't know how else to describe it. Personally, I'd add a little chocolate also. Overall: Highly recommend this restaurant for casual dining, office lunch, or small friends reunion get together. While in Albuquerque, checked out Tulas on a recommendation and I was not disappointed. The food was really tasty, the service was top notch and the ambiance in the dining space was very comfortable. Opted for the chicken tender platter w/ a side of fries for one meal (added a side of the Mac & Cheese w/ bacon too) and the Green Chile Chicken Alfredo for the other meal. Both were really good - no regrets. Before the meal came out we loved the complementary mini green chile biscuits with butter and the Mediterranean hummus appetizer. Albequerque doesn't offer a whole of options but this is definitely one of the better ones. Good prices, decent portions and stellar service. I couldn't decide what exactly the vibe is here since it boasts some mezze plates or tapas style but it has more of upscale vibe going. It's casual dining of a good variety of new Mexican food and drinks. Come for the jalapeño cheddar biscuits they are small but tasty, the specials are great and we didn't wait long to snag a table. We started with drinks and I ordered a cosmopolitan. The drink didn't taste like a regular cosmopolitan but it tasted smooth and it was delicious. I ordered the New Mexico Dip which had slices of beef, melted cheese and grilled onions. I had them hold the green chilis. I dipped the sandwich into the Au jus and the taste was amazing. What stood out was the tender slices of beef, the sweet grilled onions and the tasty Au jus. The mac&cheese was good but the Star was the sandwich. Mya was our server and she was fantastic. We found her helpful and very friendly. We think Makayla was a manager. She delivered our food and she talked about how good the sandwich was that I ordered. Makayla was right. Had just driven 8hrs yesterday and needed a good dinner. Read the reviews and decided on Tula's Kitchen and Cocktails. The place was very busy on a Saturday night and I opted to sit at the bar. The lighting is perfect in the restaurant for a nice dinner, I might add. I chatted with the young lady behind the bar, who was friendly and efficient. She recommended the salmon with garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus and a lemon butter. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the entire entree was delicious. The price $21.99, I believe, is very fair, the cocktail, Hendricks and tonic and the Pinot Noir, Sea Ranch?, was very good; both also fairly priced. The BEST RUEBEN EVER!!!!! I was feeling a bit down when I went in but the first bite of this Rueben changed all that! The bread was grilled perfectly and not hard and crunchy. I had a Cesar salad side which was also delicious bc it did not have too much dressing. But, I started it off w a perfect Cosmo martini. My server, Nina, was also the bartender and she was awesome. Very nice lighting and a bright clean feel. The menu has many choices and I would describe their food as American or expanded American diner. I had a steak salad. The meat was cooked exactly to my request, and there was plenty of lettuce and a nice vinaigrette dressing. They provide a complementary appetizer of a small cheesy roll with honey butter. Try these! I was told the salads were great, a steak that was ordered was raw, they did offer to throw it back on the grill but it had melted goat cheese on top and he opted not to do that. We went to Tula's on a Friday night and had a pretty good experience! They had seating availability right away and all the staff were extremely kind and attentive. I loved the complimentary green chile biscuits they bring to the table, and their menu had a lot of great options to choose from! This was my second time here because I enjoyed their cocktails that much. The cranberry mule is perfection. I really enjoy their chicken strip plate which comes with tater tots however they do given an option of salad and the Ceasar salad I had with the dish was filling and had very tasty dressing. I did try their meatball appetizer and it was served hit with a great tasting sauce. We shared the macaroni dish and this was not that good. It was a bit dry and the taste was a little off for me. I would not recommend. Both times the service has been outstanding and everyone does theor part to help at each table. There are plenty of different type of seating options as an FYI for those who use walkers or need space at their table. read more

I've been to this Tula's four times now. I think their menu and atmosphere is outstanding. I love the cool vibe and blue colors. The menu is great but delivering on the taste is where I find Tula's to be just off the mark. Nothing really has a Zest to me. It's not bad, it's just misses the mark slightly. One item I really like is the Bacon salad. I've only had it as a side but it is filled with flavor and the bacon really sets the tone! It's always been smoky, rich, makes it great. Their specialty green chile cheese biscuits are quite awesome too. Good to great ideas here, just need a little push to make it really sing! read more

Based on one visit for 11 people, I have to give 5 stars. The place is modern and I have heard that the owners also own the local chain of Dion's restaurants. Very homey feel (and similar to the other location on Paseo.) We visited on a Tuesday around 4:15pm, and it was not crowded. It was so convenient to be able to schedule for a larger group via their website. Typically, I have to either make 2 separate reservations or call the establishment to make a reservation for a group larger than 6 or 8. Chris (female) was our server. I let her know that we would want separate checks and she was fine with that. She handled our group's requests with expertise and grace (thanks again Chris). The kitchen did a nice job of preparing our foods to our specifications (steak @ medium - was perfect!). Prices are in line with most of similar restaurants in ABQ. Menu was good - something for everyone. I think we are fans now and we will return! read more

Let's just say... it won't be making my top 10 list anytime soon. The marinade on the beef had a flavor I couldn't quite place. Reminds me when you try a new candle scent and think, Hmm... do I like this? Crispy, seasoned perfection. Oh boy - every bit as good as the original Tula's Kitchen up on Paseo, but larger. The interior really feels the same - vibrant yet casual. (One thing that I noticed was that the new location is _slightly_ quieter when handling a capacity crowd; the original Paseo location is cacophonous much of the time.) And you'll find a capacity crowd: both times I've visited Tula's Kitchen & Cocktails on the I-25 frontage road, it's been standing room only. Today my friend and I were smart and got there right at the 11a opening. Seated right away and immediatly addressed by a terrific server (thanks, Austin!), we had our food in minutes. So fast, in fact, that the green chile biscuit lagniappe (same as at the other location) arrived a few minutes after our food. (As with the other location, expect a manager to visit your table to check on how everything is - these folks are professionals.) Getting back to capacity, when my friend and I left at 12p, every seat was taken - the waiting area was filled to capacity and people were standing waiting to be seated. Judging from the professionalism of the staff, I'm sure they didn't wait long (we were among the first tables to turn, being almost the first to arrive) - but if you can get there early or hold off just a bit to not arrive at peak times, it might be best. Food was every bit as good (which is to say, excellent) as at the original Tula's on Paseo. There's a reason the crowd is here. I had the (5) chicken strips with quinoa salad, and the chicken arrived piping hot and full of flavor, crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside - very delicious. And the quinoa salad is a great side. I'm a big eater and I went away full. Anyhow, the Tula's (Dion's) folks have done it again - this place appears to be even more popular than the stellar original due to its more central location. If you're in the area at lunchtime, you won't regret my advice to come on in! read more

Had been to the other Tulas for the first time a few weeks ago. Kind of opposite. As I sit w hubby no one has even acknowledged our presence. Yes it's new, but... I guess our server just started work shift. Not his fault. Seems to be a lot of hustling with no action by staff. There is a woman with dark hair in a bob cut that just seems trying to look busy. Meanwhile, wait staff hard to find. They need a tune up. Kudos to Jake our server. I could tell he got it. I would come back and let's hope they grow into this spot. read more

Had an amazing experience today at Tula's, the wait staff was very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is fantastic as well, loved the color scheme used which made it very welcoming. We both had the pan-seared salmon, my wife had hers with the herb roasted potatoes and I had the mashed potatoes which were both delectable! We could not stop talking about how good the food was. Before our entree, we had the green chili chicken stew as an appetizer and my wife had theTula's village salad for a side dish. Ambiance cute & fun but loud. Service outstanding (thank you Tiana!!! You are GREAT) a couple of fun drinks. The chile strips were decent, they have cheese so they are like flat rellenos. You need to cut them btw so get a plate for that. The sauces are all Dion's so if that's your jam you're good. The cauliflower is new according to staff and is just a bit too much (too much breading & too much seasoning) but not bad. Both the strips and the cauliflower were a just little over done. Unfortunately, we really didn't enjoy our salads, which came pre-dressed and just not great. The salmon was cooked well, but I'd already lost my appetite. The same is true of the dressing for the Ruben, weirdly sweet, and the sandwich couldn't stand up to it (though we did appreciate they left the majority of it in the side). The green chile chicken stew was lacking green chile, and flavor. One bite i just couldn't. Food and drinks both came out slowly, again, it our server, she was hustling and paying attention. The table next to us got a lot of attention from the kitchen staff coming out onto check on them. Not sure if that slowed everything down? 2 apps, 2 plates with sides, 2 cocktails = $100 before tips. Most of it went uneaten unfortunately. Bathroom was clean. If we go back, we'll probably stick with the pizza. read more

We had been to the other Tulas restaurant and always enjoyed it ,so we were eager to try this new location. It's a lovely building. Everyone was very nice, especially our waitperson, Blaise. However, after a little while, it was as if they were doing building demolition right next to us. It was very, very, very, very, very noisy with banging and pounding. I'dalready made up my mind never to return to this location when the waitress told us it was a unique situation because their icemaker was broken and so they were having to fill it manually. That explained all the noise, but I still think it could've been done at a different time or in a different way as to not be so obnoxious. On the whole the restaurant is pretty noisy anyway. There is a din and the restaurant was not even full at the time we were there. We'll probably try it again based on the food, hope it's quieter next time. read more

Wonderful experience last night at the new Tulas location by the movie theatre. Our server was wonderful, which I expected because I know the company does GREAT training with their staff. I wish I got his name because he did a spectacular job! Starters-- Fried green chile strips were delicious and stuffed with cheddar cheese, I loved that they give you a bunch of sauces to try with them. The tater tots that came with the strips were not special, I mean they're tater tots lol but great vessel to try all the sauces. The green chile bread is to die for!! Main-- I got the chicken salad sandwich with the quinoa salad. The chicken salad sandwich was pretty good, all of the toppings were really fresh, but I did not get one single grape in my whole sandwich and maybe 2 raisins. (I got the salad version last time and had no issue with missing ingredients from the chicken salad.) im guessing I got the bottom of the container so there were close to no toppings. This place is amazing! The atmosphere is cheerful, and the space is clean and well designed. The staff were super friendly. We tried a few new items tonight, including the pesto pasta, which I loved, reminded me of home. We had the cauliflower bites which as a vegetarian, are a delicious hot wing alternative. The house made hot sauce was sooo good. The icebox lemon pie was superb, and got better as we sat and chatted. I don't usually get dessert but this was a nice clean finish to a meal. Absolutely down to try anything Dion's related. The Sandia Sunset cocktail was really good. I loved the souvlaki, but I'm a big fan of Greek food. I wasn't a huge fan of the feta dip, it needed to be more like dip instead of just crumbled feta that was a little too watery. My friend thought her chicken tenders were too salty, but the portion was way larger than expected. The little green chile muffins were good and also unexpected but needed something besides butter. My friend didn't think they used Dion's ranch which is kind of...surprising since Dion's ranch is iconic and it's a sister brand.
