Let me tell you something. I've eaten tons of burritos in my lifetime. This was the worst burrito I've ever tasted. Its basically a pound of dry and flavorless rice & beans with little bits of tiny flavorless chicken thrown in there. 2 bites in and I instantly felt sick. I very rarely write reviews, but I really can't understand the negative reviews posted below! I've been ordering from this restaurant on a regular basis for over two years, and it is consistently great. The food is good, the portions are generous for the price, and the delivery is always fast. They've never once made a mistake on an order, which is definitely rare and super appreciated. I grew up on Mexican food, so I know how tough it is to get decent Mexican cuisine in NYC. This is traditional Mexican, not Tex-Mex. Their tortas, soups, rice and beans, and fresh juices are delicious. My only suggestion would be to work on the guacamole (it's not the best I've ever had, but still better than NO guac!) ;) I recommend Tulcimex -- give them a try! read more

This is a traditional Mexican restaurant. The atmosphere is pleasant. It has some nice potted plants in the window and cozy tables with nice designs on them. Now it has some festive Christmas decorations. Great little food hangout. The people that work here are very nice and like the signs and menus say there is free wifi! The password is the phone number. Food is very tasty and has some pretty respectable ratings from my fellow yelpers. The only thing is, a lot of the lunch entrees can cost at least 10 dollars. Most would say it's worth it, but I wouldn't call this place cheap or even an outstanding bang for the buck. They have a lot of meaty entrees and only one decisively vegetarian entrée, the vegetarian burrito. It's very good and it's one of those big, liquidy burritos that can't be picked up and should be eaten with knife and fork. I recommend metal utensils since the burrito is so substantial, plastic cutlery does not cut it so well. But like everything else in this restaurant, it only comes with pinto beans because they do not serve black beans. Let me repeat that. THIS RESTAURANT DOES NOT SERVE BLACK BEANS! This is the only Mexican restaurant I've ever been to that does not serve black beans! Is this a traditional statement that Mexican food has no black beans? It makes no sense to me. I don't like pinto beans and I fear they may contain pork products. It makes it extra difficult for me to come here and enjoy the food. In all fairness this seems like a great spot to dine, but I find their ingredient variety to be too rigid for my tastes. read more

I like this place. You know us Cali girls are tough on Mexican food - but this was really tasty. I enjoyed the Mole - original Oaxacan style - just so flavorful and delicious. The tacos are good - the cheese is Oaxacan cheese and it's all good baby! I ordered my husband the carne Asada plate and he enjoyed it. The guacamole I see they add a little salsa too - it's blended down and not chunky but it's delicious - I would say they could add a little salt or lime but I always do that at home. The tortilla chips were fresh a little over cooked but you could still tell they were fresh. The packaging was on point. I like the people packaging the food. They took their time to make sure the customer received a good product and I like that. During these times extra care is appreciated. With that said this place gets (5) stars from ME! Also - THEY HAVE PINTO BEANS!!! Whooo hoo! I am so sick of BLACK BEANS!!!! The know that black beans have more iron - but so what?! I like the old school pinto beans and this place serves them up!! Love these guys for the tacos! It's not the greatest looking restaurant inside, but I'm usually having tacos in the comfort of my own home, they are GREAT with delivery. I go for the chicken and the steak tacos. Always fast delivery, the portion sizes are great, and I consistently find myself craving tacos every month now so I know who to call. We've been customers of Tulcimex, but not anymore. I've never had such bad customer service from a restaurant before. Ordered a Mole Poblano with a side of Tortillas and Rice/Beans, but we received no rice/beans in our order. We called the restaurant to resolve the issue and let them know, but the lady on the phone was incredibly defensive and kept telling me "I put them in the bag, check again, I remember putting it in the bag." You think I didn't check? When I told her it wasn't there, she just kept saying that she put it in the bag. Eventually, I asked her, "Are you saying I'm lying?" and she said, "Yes." My wife also went on the phone but she just kept saying she remembered putting it in the bag. How can you treat customers that way? If a customer says something was not in the order, you respect what they're saying and you do your best to fix the issue. Sorry Tulcimex, but you're losing our business. If you fail at customer service with such a basic issue, I can't imagine what else you're doing wrong with your orders. read more

Ok, I never had been to this restaurant in person. Since my favorite restaurant is closed due to COVID, I found that restaurant via DashDoor app and I saw the rating being so high which made me trust this place for the quality of their food. So, I ordered chicken quesadilla, chicken burrito for my fiancé and the chips with guac for us to share. The delivery from the app was not that bad, brought food on time so it was all good. So when it was time to eat, I noticed my chicken quesadilla was not even cut into four pieces at all, it looked like one giant ass folded taco or something. My fiancé's chicken burrito was huge and very poorly made, honestly. It looked so sloppy. The guac? Oh my god, it was SO runny and disgusting! There were NO flavor in it and the chips were hella hard with NO flavor in it. The dinner was totally uneventful and then next day, we ended up got the food poisoning. I don't ever write reviews for things, but this place definitely deserves one. I just did an order from uber eats and it was just great! I recently moved to the area and was accustomed to the Mexican restaurant around where I used to live and feared that I would never get to enjoy food like that again. But this restaurant outdid themselves and truly did their thing on the food. I ordered the chicken and cheese quesadilla and the chicken nachos and they we're bangin!!! I was surprised to see though that the nachos had pinto beans instead of black beans, which to me was no problem (tasted amazing regardless). I don't know about the people who are rating this so low, you clearly know nothing about good food. Don't hesitate to buy from here! They are truly amazing!! read more

Ordered here for the first time and wasn't expecting much. Ordered some molé with beans, rice and tortillas on the side. Delivery was good, didn't take too long. The only things that I didn't like as much about the food was that the tortillas were not homemade, rather packaged, and the rice was a bit dry. I enjoyed the beans and the molé was decent. I have to say, I would give this a five star. However, I didn't get my Tamale in my order, so considering a decent tip to the delivery guy, and the loss of the cost of the tamale, I had to take away a star. So, aside from that, let me say this is a great little spot. I am originally a Californian, whom grew up on true Mexican food in the neighborhood. Literally, corn tortillas made on a hot stone in the back yard of my friends house, and a seasonal café that served only what Mexican locals would eat. You cannot fool me with Americanized food. While this little place does negotiate with the American palette, they are very good, and as close to authentic as I have found aside from a food truck on a side-street. This is definitely a place worth visiting when you come through the neighborhood. They use fresh ingredients, and all the flavors of home are incorporated. Side note: we recently had construction going on the Ave here, and the crew workers were Mexican. They came into this place by the droves for breakfast. Know and believe that fellow Mexicans will not patron a spot that cannot cook properly. So there you have it. It's great, come by! read more
