A true neighborhood gym. Vinny or "mister G "as he is known, runs a great local deli and catering business. Everything from boars head cold cuts to homemade salads and everything in between is fresh and delicious. The interior is nothing to opulent however the sandwiches that they create are quite spectacular. All salads are homemade and you can tell that they are made with love. A frequent stop during my Long Island excursions, I find the location and forward curbside appeal quite enjoyable. The reason for my return trips to Tulip Caterers is manly for the Shrimp Salad and there's no matter which form you should procure it. Beefy, crustation chunks combined with a sweet mayonnaise and fresh crackling celery pieces are all the components of this bad boy sea salad. Routine also has me grabbing a Signature Stromboli to go most every time. Anything from the hot trays never gets carried over until the next day, nothing from the Hot's are a disappointment nor are they next level, deli master, Deliness here. Most all items seem to carry a common denominator which is to say, it appears that all the items prepared n the back are made with a brine, Italian dressing or mayo. This common cooking thread does not really work for me when the Chicken Cutlet smacks of strong Italian dressing undertones. What I feel separates the four star delis form the three's is at a bare minimum the cold cuts must bear the Boar's Head name or supersedes it. read more

Tulip Caterers just catered a brunch I hosted at my home yesterday for 25 people. They exceeded my expectations. The food was great and so was the value. I was able to have a nice variety of cold and hot foods as well as plenty of coffee and juice. The driver called me the day before to make sure he had precise directions and he arrived exactly on time. He was extremely helpful and took his time setting up to make sure I was completely satisfied when he left. All of my guests raved about the quality and quantity of the food. Be aware that Tulip charges a 3.99% service charge for debit and credit purchases. They claim this policy is posted but the posting is so small and off to the side that it can no way be considered prominent. I have shopped there many times and never saw it. We became aware when we paid by debit on a larger purchase and found the charge on the bill. When confronted the owner said if you don't like it don't shop here! read more

Most of the staff have CRAPPY attitudes. Plus they ripped me off, cuz I ordered a Thursday hot turkey w/gravy hero n got charged 5.99, which it was supposed to be 5 bucks even. Unbelievably disappointed with the service from The latin man attending at the deli . A quick run to grab a roll with butter and coffee became extremely aggravating when i asked the latin man at the counter to please put his mask on if not i would not want him to prepare my meal . He kept speaking to me without a mask and over the food . I went on to looking for the other gentleman to take my order - when then the latin man cursed me out in Spanish saying all Latin people are shit and that he is not sick so why should he wear his mask?! We catered a gathering either a large tray of sandwiches, Caesar salad, fruit salad, and antipasto. All were good, but the antipasto was excellent. Really, really outstanding. Pepperoni with plenty of spice, flavorful salami, really sharp cheese cubes (sharp provolone?), and some exceptional stuffed cherry peppers, among other bits. Unfortunately I had a bad experience here. I wanted to go there because they were so close by my house but now I drive a little further and go to a way better place. They made my food incorrectly multiple times, they do not write things down and often times I looked at the food in the deli case and it didn't look very fresh. I ordered a few platters for a party I had. I used them because they came highly recommended and they delivered. They were helpful over the phone when I ordered. Unfortunately, I assumed that they went off exactly on what was on their catering menu and they weren't. I ordered an antipasto platter asking them to excluded the mushrooms and pepperoni and asked them to add more mozzarella and prosciutto. Instead of doing what I asked, they added Parmesan cheese and mixed antipasto salad. I ordered a vegetable platter and it appeared to be dried up. I was a little pissed off when I pulled up to the deli because there was a tow truck blocking the entire entrance and refused to move! So I had to circle around and pull in through the other entrance but anyway, I called in my order before stopping in and as soon as I walked in I was like is this the right place? Looks more of a corner store than a deli but I walked to the back and there my sandwich was, just waiting for me. It was $8.95. I thought that was a little pricey then I picked it up and realized I no longer needed my Dumbbells as this sandwich was heavy as hell... I think it was the Cheech sandwich, I swapped out the Swiss and added American cheese. So it was turkey, American cheese, mayo, salt, pepper and coleslaw and it was to die for. The prices were very reasonable so I decided to give them a try for my party. Vinny was wonderful to work with and very knowledgeable in helping me decide what to order and how much.
