So I finally went back to get a mani and pedi. I am very disappointed they try to blame me and say that my nails are oily that's why my GEL manicure doesnt last me. I have never had a problem at the other salons before this one. I got them done on Wednesday July 31 and they chipped off. And to be honest it's not like I'm using my hands for heavy work for my nails to be chipping. Im never coming back again. Even though I will miss Kim's excellent pedicures. I hate fake nails. But a gf of mine had the prettiest nails ever, so I asked her where she went. She said Tulip. So I went! THE NEED: Amazing Nails for my Wedding Reception: 5 stars...... I asked for Tu, b/c my gf said she was the best....and she is. She took me in after they would usually have been closed. I didn't even tell her my wedding reception was the next day, she is just so nice! Well, she gave my clear tips with clear acryilic....looks so natural, i can't believe it. Tu made my nails thin and pretty, not all bulky and fake looking. I am amazed. THE SERVICE...5 stars....I had to wait just a few minutes and they told me they were sorry and how long I had to wait and why....wow. thank you! The attention to detail here is amazing...but, shockingly, they are quick! I was in and out in 40 minutes (even with the short wait). I got a beautiful pedicure and a full set. OVERALL: I am so anti-fake nails bc they usualy look, well, fake! I have refused fake nails since I went to prom and then didn't know better. Tu will not let you leave the chair until they look exactly how you want. They look so natural, I cannot believe it. This woman and this entire nail spa has their ish together. I DEF RECOMEND TO ALL YELPERS. For those who don't know, I'm a model for a living, So i can't have busted nails. This is better than Bev Hills salons who charge $75 a mani. I love this place! The prices are sooo good and they do a wonderful job on pedicures and manis. It has been a week and my clear nail polish hasn't even chipped off at ALL. Little storefront in a tiny strip mall on Olive in Burbank (just W. Of Victory.) Very different looking from my upscale nail spa but I've been getting fed up with some of the people and practices there lately and I read a review by a trusted Yelp Elitester (Andrea K.) so I walked in and hoped for the best. They seated me immediately with a cute little lady called Tina and she immediately got down to business on my nails and got too personal, Anjelah Johnson style, asking if I'm married, giving me accusatory glares upon learning that we weren't planning on procreating, and insulting the length of my nails (I like them to cut them short). My daughter had wax burns on her eye lids and well, pain is what my daughter remembers the most about this nice place. Btw, charging a dollar to use a credit card is fine but full disclosure before running a credit card is good business. I've gone to many nail salons before. As I was in the area for the weekend, I decided to get my nails done and found Tulip Salon through my navigation system. In addition, I brought my friend who was getting a mani/pedi for the first time. The salon seemed slightly busy. We waited about 10 minutes before we got serviced. All and all, my friend and I felt that we were rushed. As a result, their quality of service was near poor. There were four ladies working with us total (one person per mani/pedi). My pedi was okay. The woman working on it did what she had to do but was not thorough with the foot scrubs, etc. My feet aren't hideous, but I've experienced better foot jobs for the same price at salons near my house. The woman who did my mani was extremely rushed. She got paint on my fingers as she was painting my nails quite rapidly. In regards to my friend, the woman who was doing her mani was switching off between her and another customer. I do not feel this is acceptable. Lastly, their nail polish selection was very limited. I am really NOT a fan of this place. When I paid for the service, the woman who printed the receipt reminded me that the tip was not included in my bill... is it me or is it just rude for people to make statements like that? It's not professional. Tips are optional. I always provide tips for any services I get, but it bugs me that these women not only did a crappy job, but also reminded me to tip them... I kind of didn't want to tip them just to prove a point but I did anyway. Again, I've been to many salons before... this one definitely falls under the bottom tier... read more

I love Tulip Salon! I've been trying to find a good salon in my neighborhood and was referred to Tulip by a good friend. I have really long natural nails and like to have gel put over them to make them stronger. These ladies are great, they complimented my nails and gave me tips on how to take care of them. The entire time I couldn't help but think "wow I wonder how much they'll charge me" because well lets say I've had my share of $$$ salon experiences. Welp...to my surprise, my total came up to $35 and I got a mani (gel), pedi and my 6 year old got her nails painted. I've been to this salon a few times over the last 2 years - it was always an affordable place to get a decent pedicure. The pedicure was $10 for a solid color - usually for that you got a mediocre pedicure (less than 15 minutes of service) but I always went back because it was simple and got the job done. Today I went - got an even less than mediocre pedicure - I was charged $12 & then told I was being charged $1 to use my card. I'm not irritated b/c of the money - I won't be going back because I'm pretty certain this woman thought I had never been there before & wanted to tack on a few extra dollars for a tip...which she definitely did not earn by any means. The pan for water that my feet soaked in was cold and even worse the whole experience was less than 12 minutes. Most women go for the relaxation & spa treatment. This was by far a joke. I know you get what you pay for, well, shame on me once, shame on me twice for going back & giving this place another try. I won't be back again, that's for certain. read more

I've tried other "fancier" nail salons in my area where they have the massage chairs and the ambiance but have never been satisfied with the quality of my mani or pedi! So don't go here if you prefer nice art deco to nail polish that lasts and lasts! Tulip Salon is simple, comfy & clean... I like that. Tina is the girl to go to for your pedicure. She is so quick and friendly. She does AMAZING designs (flowers, etc.) that last forever! For my acrylics, Tu and Van are my favorites. They are both equally great at making them look real and are very gentle. They're so sweet also! And best of all, they speak English so you don't have that language barrier to deal with. I think this is the best nail salon in the valley. I've been going there for about 5 years and don't want to go anywhere else. Thu makes my acrylic nails look great and they don't break or lift. Sometimes I cant get in for 3 weeks and my nails are still looking pretty good! The salon itself is comfortable and clean. First of all, they did move! on Olive across the street from the FYE, next to the Philly Cheese Steak shop - parking was fine but I can see how during the busy lunch hour it could be tough. I went here on a recommendation and wasn't disappointed. They were quick, friendly and while the polishes looked a little jumbled, and not any brands I recognized, my nails still haven't chipped - and I use my hands all day long, I'm used to manicures chipping the day after and sometimes even the day of.
