It was my first time here with friends and we bought tickets for their drag brunch. Seating is community style, first come first served for this special event. I ordered a bottomless mimosa and they gave me a wine cup class filled to the brim. I'm used to getting a mimosa in a small flute glass so they definitely do not stiff you on the drinks. I could only finish a glass and a half before I had to stop so I won't get sick later. I also ordered the pancake dippers that was stuffed with bacon. It was very delicious. The event was sold out so it was very packed and busy. It was also very loud with everyone talking on top of each other. You need to be prepared with some $1's and/or $5's to tip your entertainers when they come by. Overall, it was a great experience and am interested in checking out their Beach location as well.

The restaurant is open, inviting and welcoming! Bright colors, casual conversations, engaging staff are all quite the accent to a very good meal that was so good, filling and tantalizing to the taste buds! The portions are huge and the flavors are "huger"! I really enjoyed the veggie bowl and would like to have had more grits, but honestly, I cannot complain! I am excited to return!

We came here for bottomless mimosas for a Sunday brunch and I was in for a walloping. First, parking wasn't an issue even though it was very busy. Everyone in your party must be there or you will not get seated. We did have someone come a minute after we were sat down and that person was followed by one of the servers to our table and once she sat down the server walked away. Hmmm... We had already witnessed the hostess getting chewed out by another server or manager when she wasn't going in the exact order of people waiting. That was a bit of a surprised. We got the bottomless mimosas but I only got 2 because these were STRONG for me. It laid me out for the rest of the day. That being said... I ordered the Not Your Basic B**** (hash brown patties topped with avocado, pico de gallo, feta, over medium eggs, crumbled bacon and balsamic reduction drizzle) and while it was good I probably should have gotten the eggs a little more set than over medium. Don't get me wrong, I like my eggs like that but the combo with the mimosas made me second-guess the mouth feel of everything. The service was ok for a busy day but our server probably could have used more help other than having someone else deliver the food. I will say that she was working really good under pressure. It was nice but I think I like Jax Beach location more.

Came here for brunch on a Wednesday around 11:30. We waited a long time to be seated and they weren't busy, but it was only 2 servers working so we weren't upset. We ordered the spicy margaritas but they were trying something new adding Bloody Mary mix to it, so u didn't like it. I got the chicken and waffles, which came with a hot honey sauce... 10/10! My husband got a bowl with grits, eggs, and other stuff. He enjoyed it and didn't finish it because it was a lot to eat. We ordered another round of margaritas but not spicy. The total cost of everything was too much and didn't really equate to what we got, but it was our first time there so I guess it was an experience. We paid $175 for everything... smh

Food quantity: 7/10 Food quality: 6/10 Service: 2/10 Ambiance: 6/10 Overall rating: 5/10 Michelle Jones, the manager, was also hosting and serving as a waitress this Saturday morning. She called and seated a group of 4 that came in after our group of 3 and crossed their name off the waiting list, skipping our name completely. When we asked her why she sat the other group first when they came in after us, she blamed the other host when she was the one who sat them. Then she said she just followed the list when she clearly didn't. She doesn't hold herself accountable and we will not be back again. The food and service otherwise was acceptable.

Talua Bistro did NOT come to play The vibes? Immaculate. The food? 10/10--fresh, flavorful, and had me cleaning my plate with zero shame Service was top tier, super friendly, and fast. Honestly, this spot is a whole experience, not just a meal. Springfield, don't walk... RUN to Talua Bistro! I'll definitely be back

Tulua is a gem! I started my morning with a black coffee. They'll sweeten it with any flavor, like vanilla. The side of potatoes was just right, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and packed with flavor. My main dish was the strawberry French toast, and it was heavenly. Toast was thick. The edges had a satisfying crunch, the middle was perfectly soft, and it was topped with fresh strawberries and a light dusting of powdered sugar. A total treat! The hubs ordered the Godzilla omelette, and it lived up to the name--generous and full of flavor. The onions, peppers, and tomatoes were all beautifully caramelized. He already says he'd order it again. The atmosphere at Tulula's is vibrant and welcoming, clean, colorful, chic, and artsy. It just makes you feel good to be there. They're known for their charcuterie boards, which you can build yourself or let the chef create for you. After this incredible breakfast, I definitely want to come back and try one! There is also another room for private parties. And they have bottomless mimosas! The music was great, and our server Michele was absolutely wonderful--kind, attentive, and full of great info. She let us know they host drag shows every 4th Saturday of the month--we're already planning our return visit. So glad we discovered this place. Highly recommend!

Delicious breakfast and generous portions. The board was more than enough to share, service was good, and the drinks hit. Fun, bright space with colorful murals that make it a vibe.

I'll let the photos from other reviews do the talking, but if you enjoy a good backstory, ask about the history of the space. My mission for the night was simple: end the evening with a great gin cocktail. I started with the Donna Bella from the menu. It was well made, but I thought the bitters were a little too forward for my taste. Next, I asked for an off-menu modification: a Water Lily for Teresa, but made with Roku Gin. It was a strong contender--aromatic, balanced, and beautifully floral. If you're a fan of a French 75, this is a fun cocktail to explore. It's less citrus-forward and leans into a floral profile with a character that's hard to compare to anything else. For the final round, I went with bartender's choice. Mick asked a few questions about my flavor preferences and absolutely nailed it. They crafted a cocktail with Roku gin, snap pea cordial, aloe liqueur, egg white, lemon simple, mint, and citrus that was easily the highlight of the night. Fresh, layered, and memorable, it's a drink that deserves a permanent spot on the menu....Mission accomplished. If you're willing to wander beyond the barbershop business front and you consider yourself a spirit explorer, Volstead is well worth the visit. Go for a round...or two. If you're local, this could easily become your staple spot. For what it is, strong craft cocktail bar option. Bartenders choice is the way to go.

The house band is pretty good, a little bit on the young side, but they seem to get the job done. OK. After the house being played a set, they had a sit in sessions with various musicians, which is always nice. The atmosphere is subtle and quiet at least for a club. Location is great, and the staff seemed friendly. It's good to have a place in Jacksonville with an environment like this and a place where you can go and listen to jazz/blues. I wish there was more like this, maybe with a little bit of older, jazz, musicians and more people who appreciate jazz as it didn't seem like the audience was 100% jazz lovers, but that doesn't detract too much especially since there's not a lot of places in Jacksonville that do what they're doing here.

We ordered the Brussel sprouts as an appetizer, they were phenomenal! Then we both decided on steak for dinner. I got the filet, and ordered it medium rare and it was perfect. I got the German chocolate cake (this apparently isn't their normal one) and my husband got the dulce cheesecake. The waitress we had was great, and she recommended lots of tips and favorites to try. The only negative thing that I would say is that it's a bit cramped, so it was very loud and hard to hear each other at points. This was an amazing dinner. We will be back

Our waiter, Evan, was very proactive & offered suggestions with menu items. We started with some cocktails, the gentlemen with the cider beer & an old fashioned. I chose a glass of bubbly & the birthday girl had the fizz cocktail. It was incredible with a fresh blackberry puree. We started with the fried green tomatoes & the calamari, both were delicious! Calamari was prepared well and not too chewy. We shockingly each chose a salad: the bistro steak, the chop chop Asian, the goat cheese, and the salmon. Each one was incredible. Mine was the chop chop and I absolutely loved it! It was HUGE and you can bet I ate every single bite. Loved it!' We finished with the brownie topped with ice cream for the birthday girl, it was extremely tasty! Thanks again to Evan for making our night! He was a fantastic waiter!
