It's as confusing as everyone says it is to find the right entrances - however we were looking to sit at the bar so we saw the sign saying "Pub" so through the door we went! The pub is very small with only 6 chairs at the bar with some tables/chairs making up the rest of the room. My gf and I sat at the end of the bar and she kept getting bumped into as both patrons and servers kept walking past her. With it being this small, there wasn't any room for noise control - another group of patrons there were extremely loud and a bit obnoxious but there really wasn't any wiggle room. Once we settled in, we ordered the house calamari, fig and prosciutto flatbread and the eggplant rollatini. I was happy to see McKenzie's Cider on the menu as there aren't too many places I've gone to that serve this brand - so yay for me! Rollatini and calamari were good, flatbread good but didn't blow my mind and a bit overpriced for what you get. It was about $13 for a small serving. Rob and Kim were tending the bar and were extremely friendly so def a thumbs up. I want to come back and perhaps sit in a different room the next time and try proper meal options instead of just apps. Incredibly slow service during Mothers day Brunch. We arrived around 1pm. They had a good Mothers day menu online and we were looking forward to trying some of the items out. We waited for an hour and only had our drinks and the initial appetizer which was Aok and slightly cold. When we asked after waiting for an hour, they said the kitchen was backed up and hadn't even started preparing our main course yet and that they were 2 orders behind. We got the cheque and left. Unfortunately most of the other places had already stopped serving brunch by then. It would've been good if someone had communicated to us that the kitchen was backed up and that it was going to take a while. Service def has to improve, and get more staff if you know you're going to be busy on Mother's Day. read more

This used to be my go-to spot in 2018/19 but slowly changed into a place that is now my, "I can't decide where to go so maybe I'll give Tumblesalts a try again" place. The issue is the absolute inconsistency in their food and drinks. Something as simple as Caesar Salad or Wedge (no longer on menu as of 2021). You could order it 7 days in a row and have 7 completely different versions of what you ordered. It's the same thing with drinks. Even 2 of the same drink off their menu in one night will be different both times. Might be served with an Orange and lemon in the first, then the second gets served with blueberries and a lime. That's the type of consistency you can look forward to. I have had some of the best food and drink here, but I have also had some of the worst meals of my life. The only 2 things that remain consistent, are their maze of a layout and Bruce who is their kind and attentive front of house that seems to be the glue trying to hold the restaurant together these days. read more

was visiting my son and we went looking for a different place to eat. we stumbled on this place and thought the outside of the restaurant was interesting. we arrived and were immediately seated. interesting layout. u attentive. So were ordered diet cokes that came with not enough syrup. they returned with better drinks . we started with chowder ( one white and one red) and both were a olus! i ordered baked stuffed haddock. fish and stuffing was a bit dry and tasted on but not great. plate had large portion of mashed potato but were cool and a bit dry as well. the asparagus was excellent. so mixed review for sure. i think this place could be really good with more food consistency. read more

Hidden on a side street off of Mineral Spring Ave. lies this eclectic trove. We walked in through the cafe entrance. We were shown around the establishment by a lovely server .. the multiple rooms are interesting .. there is even a rooftop. The multiple rooms include a cafe, a pub, and a more formal dining room. There is an event space called the Carousel Room which can hold 40-60 people. I'm definitely interested in hosting a small birthday or event here during the summer when the outside is open! The rooftop bar is not open during the winter, but it's a cool concept that opens up to the outside with a second-story deck and lounge seating. If you sit in the pub you will receive a delicious house made pub cheese and crackers complimentary. There is also the $0.35 wing special everyday all day (only in the pub) with the following flavor options: buffalo, beer BBQ, teriyaki, spicy honey garlic, Sriracha hot chili. We came in for dinner and sat with Kris and Tiffany in the pub.. actually there was no more seating in the dining room according the host and when Kris came around the corner she said "come sit with me". So we did. For libations we had the special "Romeo and Juliet" which was tequila and peach based served over dry ice which created a fountain of fog overflowing from the glass. Not so sure I would order it again.. half my drink froze. We started with the Caesar salad which was deliciously cheesy. For dinner I had the Chicken Marsala with wild rice and broccoli. The Marsala sauce was thick and not too salty or sweet. I enjoyed it because often times at places the Marsala sauce comes out being sweet like a glaze, too salty from the broth, or tasting too strong of wine. It was not savory but just enough. The Surf & Turf came with a small 3oz tenderloin and 3 stuffed shrimp. The seafood stuffing was flavorful and the shrimp was slightly over cooked but I'm picky with my seafood. The service was awesome! The ladies made sure we were well taken care of. I'd definitely sit with them again, and would actually request sitting with them again. I will never return to Tumblesalts Cafe. I went with my Husband and my Daughter on Monday Evening for the first and last time. The hostess was extremely unpleasant, and made it feel like it was a chore to seat us. When we arrived she offered us where we could sit out of 3 options. Which was extremely confusing to my family and I. We chose the downstairs pub area. When we got down there, there were tables covered in food and multiple workers loitering and talking to one another not doing their jobs. Our waitress was very kind and seemed to care about us and our experience, aswell as the waitress in training. All we could hear while we were eating, was people yelling and singing in spanish. The restaurant was not busy at all, but staff members were being very loud and unprofessional. (They would run up and down the stairs and laugh obnoxiously, aswell as obscene language) I ordered the "Tumbles House Calamari" as my main dish and it was rubbery, and lacked flavor. My daughter ordered the "Little Tumblers Grilled Cheese" with a side of fries. And it came without the side of fries, and barely any cheese. This restaurant is extremely unprofessional, and dirty. I've lived in this area for over 3 years and always wanted to check out this restaurant. We finally made reservations for valentines weekend. Upon entering a hostess took us to another part of the restaurant and met with another hostess. This new hostess brought us back into the original door we entered and through what felt like a maze to get to our table. The decor was very beautiful. Our waitress came over fairly quick to provide water and take our beverage order. The sangria was absolutely delicious! We ordered the house calamari as an appetizer, it was one of the best calamari's I've ever had, the combination of balsamic vinaigrette and goat cheese was perfect. For an entree I ordered the baked stuffed haddock with crab and scallop stuffing, it was also delicious. My husband ordered the beef flight, which he enjoyed. Our waitress also brought over the dessert platter and we ordered carrot cat and cheesecake. Both very good! I've seen mixed reviews on this restaurant; I recommend and I plan on returning! Eating out first week opening during the COVID pandemic, so you MUST be patient, we sat for 2hours before getting served. Terrible Service was slow...like snails pace but I am grateful they took my last minute reservations and were super kind.. Just FYI if you are reading this during the pandemic please be patient. It's my first time here, and was told this is not "normal" 1st. Its cash only. I wish they told us this before ordering a drink, but it is what it is. Normally they take cash or credit. 2nd they're going to ask some personal information. It's not on them...its on the state, and the fact that there is a pandemic and need to track if someone gets sick. You will be asked to wear a mask when ordering. 3rd. You are going to be served outdoors, and it's pretty much "take out". Paper boxes, throw away cups, napkins and menus. Buy they are not closed so it's not ruined like regular talk out. 4th. What a super cool little gem tucked away off of Mineral Spring Avenue. My first impression and best word to describe the place is - whimsical. The building has this fun, playful design both externally and internally but at the same tune, it's also very chic. There are several different "rooms" to sit in to dine. We chose the cafe where there was a live entertainer. There seemed to be a ton of servers around so I was wondering if they had a busy rush earlier in the evening or if it was just a slow Tuesday night. We enjoyed the entertainment for the first half hour we were there as he finished at 8. The food was very good. I enjoyed the calamari although my husband mentioned it wasn't his favorite, I still liked it as they served it with tentacles which are my favorite. We both got the bourbon steak tips with mashed potatoes and green beans. Finally, dessert was presented on a tray which totally threw me back to my youth! We had the blueberry lemon mascarpone cake. I placed our order at 5 p.m. and it was delivered at almost 6:45. We only ordered wings and appetizers, so it was exceptionally long for those items. However, that's not the reason for the one star. The food was absolutely awful. Meatballs were hard as a rock, with no sauce. Fried ravioli were like bricks, with the thickest breading I have ever seen. The wings were teeny tiny and covered in thick breading as well. We aren't fussy by ANY means but we did have to discard most of the food. I hate to leave bad reviews for ANY place, because it's not an easy business. But this needed a review so that they may step up their game. read more

The table next to me had one person's food come out and they didn't bring the other person's food. They said they'd take it back to keep it warm. No, you're not taking my plate away, thanks. My first visit. What a nice place! Bruce the Manager was super accommodating since we showed up early for our reservation and seated us within a few mins. Nice menu! Sandwiches, pizzas, salads and entrees with something for everyone. They also have every kind of atmosphere you could ask for all in one place: outdoor patio, banquet room, a basement pub, a cafe style bakery, & even just simple casual dining. You can dress up or dress down here. I had the Balboa steak wrap and marron! Was it delicious! My wife had the dinner salad and absolutely loved it! Tumblesalts is so close to me I had such high expectations after some of the previous yelp reviews. My bestie and I came out on a slow Wednesday night. We walked into what appeared to be the "tavern", stood there for about 7 minutes and were not approached. So we walked around the building to find the pub. After following the signs we walked down into the pub which is TINY, the bar itself seats maybe 7 people and a few tables in the surrounding area. We were handed menus fairly quickly. The bartender walked past, placed some complementary cheese and crackers at the table which are a nice touch but then she didn't return for 10-12 minutes more. When she did she asked if we were ready to order. I thought it was odd she didn't take a drink order first so I just stated that I was ready to place my drink order then I should be ready to order dinner. Their menu is quite large. After getting our drinks she turned went back to the bar did a few things came back and took our dinner orders. I ordered the meatloaf which she commented was so good, and my gf ordered a flat bread. I have to comment on how small this area is again because apparently that is the only bar for the whole restaurant so the servers from the cafe and tavern have to truck through this tiny area to get their drinks. There was a consistent flow of server traffic during our entire meal. When we received our meals I took a bite of the meatloaf... that's literally all it was ... a loaf of meat. No seasoning, didn't see any garlic... nothing. Even the bacon wrapped around it only added to the flavor ever so slightly. I had to wait another 5 minutes just to receive salt and pepper to doctor it up. The mashed potatoes were excellent though. My gf loved her prosciutto and fig flat bread. They had some great sounding hamburgers that we are willing to come back and try as well as dessert/coffee that looked to die for . It took almost an hour for our pizza. It wasn't a flat bread as advertised AND there was no goat cheese on it. We've provided a side by side comparison of another reviewer's fig and prosciutto pizza and the pizza we got (ours is on the left). Derek at the bar was really nice and apologetic for the issues, which he ended up comping us for. Recently, my daughter decided to surprise us (4 people in total) with a pre-valentine's dinner (Feb. 9th) in the Tumblesalt igloo. We had a 6:30pm reservation which we were on time for, maybe we checked in at 6:35pm after parking the car. When we arrived, the waitress said there was a bit of a wait which we didn't mind as we had the cozy igloo so we didn't think it would be a problem. Well, we ended up waiting two hours for our food. Then we had issues trying to cash out because my daughter was trying to use two visa gift cards that she had gotten for Christmas which the waitress said they always have issues with them. After countless times of trying, we just used a different method of payment. Well, when I went to call and complain a few days later about our whole experience, the wait, etc. they referred to us as the ones with the credit card issues. Then to add insult to injury they tried implying we were late for our reservation and they were going to call us which was not at all the case. After several attempts to reach out to management to rectify this issue they continue to give me a run around. See, if we didn't pay the $100.00 for the igloo I would have up and left without waiting two hours but seeing as though this was supposed to be a special time for us we stayed and waited it out to then only be insulted by management because of their lack of staff, etc. The funny thing is I am still waiting for someone to call me back because they need to continue to look into this. Not sure how much time they need to see that NO paying customer should have to wait 2 hours for their food!! NO accountability at all. Not worth the aggravation!! read more

Awful and inhumane towards customers. They disregard my partners allergies and made him very sick, even though it was stated multiple times it was safe for him to eat. Management wouldn't even do the slightest in giving a refund for their mistake, even after he had a severe allergic reaction about a half an hour after we left. Instead they question if we're lying since they don't want to admit their irresponsible business practices. That somehow wasn't even the only issue. The tavern is a more formal restaurant setting, whereas the cafe is casual & offers outdoor seating. The pub is your basic bar. Full menu available in all 3 locations. Menu is family friendly, and not too big or overwhelming. Food is pretty great overall. Hubby wasn't too happy with his; he ordered chicken Marsala, but the sauce was way watered down...like they didn't drain the pasta enough. Buy my eggplant was amazing, as was my son's burger & our nacho appetizer. Hubby and the kids ordered dessert & raved about it. I was stuffed, so didn't have any, but maannnnn was I tempted! Everything looked delicious. Honestly, I'm willing to come back just to try the dessert...LOL! The only other complaint I would have is that it's a little confusing the first time you go there; you're not sure which entrance to use, or which part of the restaurant to ask to be seated. And, the parking lot isn't located where you think it would be. You use the GPS directions, turn up the street, and have to go the next street over to get to the parking lot.
