Gnocchi in bolognese sauce with grilled chicken.
    Matthew V.

This was our first time here, the parking lot is always full so that's a good sign. Even though the place was mostly full it was nice to not be "loud" like a bar. The seats are comfortable, and the lighting is nice and subtle. We happened to be here Monday and saw an all you can eat pasta Monday deal on the table. I had to go for it. They made the pasta to order so it takes a little bit longer than other dishes but that ended up being a much needed breather for my stomach between plates. Still I was only able to eat 1 1/2 plates haha. The gnocchi looked hand rolled and cut. The pieces were really big, but they tasted pretty good. They paired really nicely with the bolognese sauce. The grilled chicken was very bland, I skipped it on the second plate. Wait staff was friendly and knew the menu well. I'll be back to try the wings when I have a bigger appetite!

I love it here! The love the casual ambience, the decor is rustic and the vibe is fun! I'm a huge live music fan....so the fact they have it starting on Wednesdays is a huge plus! It's a bit more low key on the weekdays, but Saturday turns a bit into a nightclub/dance spot! I've yet to be here on a Friday so not sure if it's the same as Saturday! I think the food is good! And we've always had attentive service! Well....except occasionally at the bar it's tough to get a drink if you're not a regular. If you're a fan of live music, live in this area and haven't been here - you need to get here this week!

What a beautiful renovation! I had tried to dine here a couple weeks ago but wait was long so we chose somewhere else. The second time trying we were lucky enough to get a table for three at dinner time. Our waitress was very nice and personable but I believe still fairly new to the trade. I ordered the paccheri dish which is a Bolognese dish and she asked if I wanted to add a protein, my reply being "I'm really hoping there's protein in the Bolognese sauce which traditionally has ground beef, pork and/or veal" in which she stood there with a blank expression on her face. My husband ordered the prime rib, market price was $40. It was flavorful as was the au jus. The pizza was very well made and plenty of hot peppers. I wish they offered bottomless mimosas for bunch which would deter me from going to Providence. I can understand how that might not be such a good idea given the fact that people have managed to lose their ability to drive in Smithfield. I plan on coming back to listen to some live music and have some drinks.

Terrific atmosphere and fun shareable dishes. The seating and ambiance are modern and comfortable and the waitstaff is friendly and attentive. We dined as a party of 7, so we tried many of the plates. The star of the show was definitely the s'mores. They bring out a fire to roast your dessert on skewers. Many of the options are battered and fried, but you can order healthier options like soup and salad. We ordered the bang bang shrimp- spicy and tasty. It also came with battered and fried green beans or snow peas. The cauliflower was battered and fried also. Served with a spicy sauce and blue cheese crumbles. We would like a little more sauce and cheese. The nachos were delicious and huge- lots of guacamole, beans, meat, sour cream and cheese. We ran out of chips and the waitstaff quickly brought us more chips when we asked. We got the wings- sugar and spice- they were really good, hot and perfectly seasoned. We ordered the bao buns, and we liked the meat a lot, but I think we would prefer it in a different bun. Nobody at our table had that before so it was nice to try something new. There was so much food that we decided to share some dinner plates- steak and frites, steak salad, fish and chips and chicken parm. The salad was the best, refreshing after all of the fried food as appetizers. The chicken parm came with really thick noodles, so that was a bit different for us- very heavy but chicken was tasty and seasoned well. Fish and chips were perfectly fried and seasoned. Steak and frites were 6 oz steak and parm truffle fries. They were a little soggy from the steak, but flavor was good. Dessert- waffle banana bread pudding was flavorful and mushy, but bread pudding is like that. It was served with cinnamon ice cream. My dad loved it. We also had the skillet cookie, which was crispy and hot- perfectly cooked with ice cream. And of course, the s'mores came out with enough for all of us to share. Highly recommend the wings, steak salad, cookie skillet and the s'mores, we will get those when we come back and try some more options that look good. We won't order as much of the fried foods, but may need to order the fish and chips and bang bang shrimp since they were such a hit. They're really friendly, so if you need more sauce, chips, whatever, just ask. They'll bring it right away.

The FIRST & NOT the last time we will be eating at The Trap! The food menu is great and the beer & wine selection is equally as good. The Ambience was great - nice country vibe and friendly people. The service staff were outstanding. I highlight that because there are comments that say otherwise. ***NOTE: The Fish & Chips was outstanding- the BEST I've had in Years (maybe ever)! The batter had a very nice CRUNCH and fish cooked very well, Not Dried out!

We enjoyed some.classic bar food and attentive service. It is VERY LOUD in this venue. If you visit during nice weather, enjoy the outdoor deck and bar, if you can. There is a huge selection of food offerings. I am puzzled as to why the female staff has to wear skimpy shirts while the male staff gets to wear full t-shirts? There was live music but very difficult to hear the guy due to the noise. If you are headed out with friends to kick off your Friday night, this would be a great spot for happy hour.

Shitty service. My friend and I came for brunch and it took 40 minutes for our drinks to come out. Our server didn't even bring them to us we had to ask the bartender. Our food was served to us 15 minutes after and my egg was not completely cooked and my fries were cold. After another 20 minutes of waiting for our server I told her and she took the plate and took it off the bill. She told the manager and he did not even come over to address everything. Never coming back here.

Went to brunch here with a friend on a Saturday afternoon. It was not too busy so we got right in. The service was a little slow, I think it took 10-15 minutes until I got my drink. (Pink lemonade) but the food I got avocado toast and sweet potato fries. Usually you only get one piece of toast but here you got two. I was stuffed after. The food tasted fresh and so good. The restaurant wasn't too loud so talking was easy and no need to yell. Only reason I'm giving 4/5 stars is due to slow service. Otherwise a place I would definitely recommend.

    Walk on the Wild Side
    Deena L.

A colleague recommended this great little spot to grab dinner. Great ambience, lightly decorated for the winter holiday season, chill music in the background, and a very happy local crowd. I started with a drink called the Walk on the Wild Side, warming up from the inside with the spiced pear liqueur. Then I ordered the most amazing roasted Brussel sprouts drizzled with goat cheese & honey (yum!). And ended with the Pear & Quinoa bowl topped with a fresh grilled chicken breast. So delicious! The portion sizes are quite large - good for sharing or lunch leftovers. And my server Becca was super friendly, informative & attentive. I was even able to watch the Monday night football game! I will definitely come back on my next work trip.

As I'm writing this I'm regretting not playing one of the arcade games they have. The service was friendly, quick. Beers were delicious. It's located right at the entrance of an industrial area. There is a very small lot for parking but it was completely full when we visited today, so we parked along the road where a number of other cars were also parked. This seemed to be okay and the signs just requested folks not park on the grass. The entrance is set back from the street so you kind of need to go around towards the back. We saw they had a food truck, Farm to Sandwich, which although kind of pricey, was super delicious. We both got the All American Smash burger with fries. Fries were so crisp and well crafted and the burger was amazing with a great sauce reminiscent of a Big Mac. For beers, since it was our first time here, we decided to try a bit of everything with flights. Their flights are $13 for 4, 5 oz pours. I chose the Coffee Milk Stout, You are Such an Ass, Bienvenu and Justin's Jangle. We started which the You are Such an Ass IPA, which was described as a light IPA but really didn't taste like an IPA at all. We honestly thought they had poured us the wrong beer. As IPA enthusiasts, this was disappointing. The Bienvenu, which is a Red Ale with Panela (unrefined Colombian sugar cane) was infinitely better. The Coffee Milk Stout, I understand is very popular, but I thought this was average. Justin's Jangle, a Maple Praline Porter was my favorite! Really nice, complex brew! We also really enjoyed the live music from Jake Frezza, a local musician out of North Providence. He sang and played guitar and covered a diverse sampling of songs including Brittney Spears (Toxic), James Taylor and Marvin Gaye. His version of "What's Going On" was particularly excellent. I normally dread listening to live performers at breweries but this guy is actually very talented! Kudos to Ravenous for engaging such a high quality musician! Also, for a Saturday, it was not overcrowded or over run with kids. There was just one family with a super quiet baby and we noted just one dog inside. On exiting, I saw they have a nice memorial where they offer to pour a beer to a fallen service member. Very nice! Gender neutral restrooms Pinball Separate rooms make it quieter than breweries in just one big industrial space. Friendly service at the bar and no lines! Bar stools with no back, kind of uncomfortable and there seemed to be no other seating options like chairs or sofas. In summary: Highlights: Bienvenu Red Ale Justin's Jangle Jake Frezza live music Nice memorial to fallen soldiers Low Lights: You are Such an Ass IPA Barstools/ seating Would definitely stop back here again when in the area!

Beer'd Brewing Company is a craft brewery that opened in Stonington, Connecticut in November 2012…read more It was founded by husband and wife Aaron Simoncini and Precious Putnam. After enrolling in a class entitled "Beers of the World" in college, Simoncini became very interested in craft beer and soon began homebrewing. It was during this time that he gained the nickname "Beer'd". Eventually with his now-wife Putnam, Simoncini set out to open his own brewery. The couple set up shop at the Velvet Mill in Stonington. The historic building was originally home to the American Velvet Company, which operated from 1892 to 1996. Today it is a multipurpose building that is home to a thriving community of small businesses and artist studios. When Beer'd originally opened in the mill, they had just a 100-barrel system. The brewery quickly became notable for their small-batch high quality IPAs. In 2018, Beer'd opened a secondary facility at the Airport Business Park in Groton. This new 12,000-sq-ft space expanded their production capacity to 6,000 barrels. An adjoining 60-seat taproom (dubbed "Beer'd Brewing @ The Silo") opened at the Groton facility in January 2020. To differentiate the two taprooms, the original location in Stonington is now often referred to as "Beer'd Brewing @ The Mill". I first visited Beer'd in 2013 (when they were just one of a small handful of breweries in Connecticut), and I've been a huge fan of their beer ever since. They are one of my favorite Connecticut breweries and I have visited them multiple times; they were even a stop on my brewery bus tour bachelor party. I also must point out that Aaron and Precious are lovely people. I recently stopped there while I was in the area. It had been a while since my last visit and there were a few changes. In addition to the original taproom, Beer'd has set up an indoor beer garden in the center of the Velvet Mill. Patrons can enjoy some beer paired with food from one of the mill's many food vendors. Beer'd also set up a designated "Dog Den" for patrons to enjoy a beer if they have furry friends. During this visit, I enjoyed a taster flight that featured "8 Days A Week" (Pale Ale), "Stunner For the Win" (New England IPA), "An Unexpected Upgrade" (Double IPA), and "Heavy Weight-Of-Sound" (Triple IPA). They were all excellent! I plan to continue enjoying Beer'd beers for years to come!
