The Orchard Grill always disappoints: The place is a mishmash of furniture from different periods in the buildings history, there's a section of cafe seating and booths. Its fine and seemed relatively clean. For this visit, we arrived about 9AM early in the work week, the restaurant was at about 20-25% capacity. There were 3 waitstaff on the floor and one showed up shortly after we were seated, this brought the total number of servers to 4. The staff immediately seemed put upon by our presence. I usually try to seem more friendly when I am confronted with folks like this, but they would have none of it. My friendly smiles were met with blank stares. Once we were seated, the drink question was asked of us. But the staffer was multi tasking, and when we responded, it was acknowledged as if we'd rudely interupted them. Further interactions went similarly. Our food arrived on the slow side but in a reasonable amount of time. The waffle was fluffy and crisp, the pancake thick and on the dry, soft, cakey end of the spectrum, (vs thin, buttery and crisp). Fruit was your standard food distributor pre-cut variety of melon, red grapes and pineapple, the same stuff you get at the supermarket. My scrambled eggs were overcooked, dry and rubbery but I have had worse. Bacon was similarly dry, probably reheated, not cooked to order. Italian toast was from a real Italian loaf, thin but decent. Homefries were pretty good. Once the food arrived, no one came by the table again to check on things until well after we'd finished eating. I initially thought there were no refills on the weak coffee until I heard an adjacent table being offered a refill. We were never asked if we needed anything else, or if the food was okay. That said, the food at the Orchard Grill isn't bad, it's just mediocre.. Paired with the bare minimum of unfriendly service, it was just not worth the 40+ dollars for the adult and two kids meals. Waitstaff treat you like a task, not like patrons, not like people seeking a positive experience. At the Orchard Grill you are an obstacle to be oveecome with the very smallest amount of effort you can get away with without seeming overtly hostile. Each of my preceeding visits were similar experiences. read more

I came here for a quick breakfast, and I thought it was a great place for a quick breakfast. They have a concentrated menu, so you don't get lost in the options, but enough options for you to get what you want. I decided to try and original eggs Benedict, which baked beans instead of hash browns. The poached eggs were nice and runny, the beans had really good flavor with some bacon and onions in them. Very acceptable. The coffee was not all that hot, though, which was surprising. Cost was reasonable too. If you're looking for a breakfast spot, I assure you that you can do worse. read more

I drive past here all the time... and say " I'll have to try it sometime" well today was that "sometime " ! I'm glad I remembered this place while contemplating where to go to lunch. When we walked in and we greeted immediately by a waitress nearby.. place was decently busy for an early lunch.. which was a good sign to me.. after we were seated, we looked over the menu they literally have EVERYTHING!! My husband and I came here for breakfast one time because it came highly recommended by friends and family. My parents literally come here at least twice a month. I wasn't like overly impressed and I think I'm being a little biased because it was so hyped up by family and friends. It was good. I just wasn't amazed. This restaurant has been a community staple for many years, and is family owned/run. The father and son work together to oversee the day to day operations, while the staff execute at a high level. The food is above average and slightly under seasoned. I actually prefer that so that I can perfect my own sodium levels. From entry to exit the staff are attentive and friendly! After many years of driving by here and I believe in the last few it changed to the Orchard Grille, we decided to eat here while dropping off students at Bryant. Food was good. Very much a diner style place. Great service. There are a few things I would downgrade them for, and maybe I am wrong. That would be the Sysco fries that everyone seems to have and the calamari which did not seem like a fresh prepared item. The turkey club was good. The blt was loaded with bacon. Stumbled across this hidden gem and being the breakfast person that I am had to try it. The staff is pleasant and our waitress was up-beat which is always a bonus. The menu has a good selection. Food came out hot and tasty, not greasy at all n If you like ordering wheat toast with your eggs there's isn't just an off the shelf. service and food were awful. I usually get lunch, which is always amazing, but I switched it up and went at 9:30 this morning with my family for breakfast for French toast, bacon and eggs. I ordered 2 French toast.. I got one slice split in two.. there was so much cinnamon on it, my tongue was dry for at least an hour after leaving. eggs were runny but crispy on the outside, which i find strange. bacon was super under cooked. I had no choice but to send it back. the waitress (Hope, as stated on my receipt) was a little aggressive towards me and my family as well. she claims we didn't order stuff, got extremely mad when I sent my items back. she "apologized" only because I wanted to see a manager, which never came to speak to me. she snatched the card off the table when it came time to pay. she came back three separate times which her attitude was got worse each time. she claimed it was because they were busy. besides my table of 4, there was a table of 2, and two parties with no more than 10 people each with multiple waitresses on shift. I do not appreciate the way she snapped at me the last time she came back to my table, especially in front on my four and six year old. I will not be going back there. I have been a waitress of 15 years and i have NEVER acted this way. doesn't matter if your having a bad day or not. do not be rude to people when messing up my order was not my fault. read more

Great food, comfort meals and a great price! Never had a bad meal here & the waitresses have always been very pleasant and attentive. One thing they could improve on is when you are seated across from the waitress stand where all the condiments, etc are kept, a few times the waitresses stood there talking complaining about the owner or other waitresses. I've eaten at the Orchard Grille many times since it opened and I have never had a bad experience. The hard working staff is always friendly, pleasant and professional. The food is always top notch. My favorite dishes are the Teriyaki Steak Tips with Rice, which are always perfectly cooked, fork tender and served at the perfect temperature. The rice is flavorful and a great compliment to the tips. I also love their generously portioned Chicken Parm dinner and their seafood platter is a great value. The restaurant is always well maintained, clean and cheerful. It's very family friendly but also perfect if you're eating by yourself or as a couple. read more

Wow, haven't had a breakfast this bad in quite awhile. The sassy/annoyed host that sat us must have worked at "dicks last resort" previously because he ignored my presence while I waiting at the seating sign. Grabbed the breakfast menus and flung them on a table like a deck of cards while walking to a completely different different table across the room. not even stopping to acknowledge this was going to be where we were sitting. If management reads this, fire that dude immediately. Completely uncalled for and rude. It unfortunately set the mood for the disgusting meal we were about to eat. The pancake batter was over mixed so they were cooked and served like rubbery flapjack bandaids, rubbery and flat. My wife couldn't cut through the Benedict because the English muffins were old and rubbery. I don't know how you mess up eggs but what ever old ass oil they used did the trick. Homemade hash was delicious, they actually listened when I asked for crispy bacon/well done home fries, coffee was delightful and the biggest surprise was the Amazing white toast!!! We love so many of their seafood and dinner options. Steamers, fried clams, baked chicken when available are all very deliciously cooked. You have to either save room for desserts or take some home. We went to Orchard Grill one night for a quick bite. The owner was there and the service was great and the fajitas were awesome. Unfortunately, we went for breakfast and there was hardly anyone there and our food came out cold and half of the food came out when we were almost finished what we had been served. Obviously, the eggs sat for awhile. The waitress was sweet but she spent all her time talking to people at the counter. I guess the cook was alone and or has gotten multitasking down pat yet.
