Red snapper fried no flavor with cassava fries and salad.
Benny.mimi M.

Food is mediocre. Ambiance nothing fancy. Street parking may be a challenge. The chaufa shrimp was different due to the teriyaki flavor on them. Red snapper fried had no flavor. Gratuities are included in the check so avoid double tipping. We will not be returning.

If you want shareable and left over size meals this if your place! Prices are a bit pricey but you def get what you pay for. We had the shrimp ceviche delicious! The special chaufa delicious! The roasted chicken juicy tender and flavorful! There is a parking lot but depending if they have a party in their hall it can get pack. The main dining area is a bit small but that doesn't stop me from coming here. I would highly recommend this place you won't be disappointed.

I ordered take out and the pick up process was easy. Took about 35 mins and the food was ready as soon as I walked through the door. I originally ordered the rotisserie chicken and fried rice. The chicken was okay, nothing really to write home about. The shrimp fried rice on the other hand is so delicious! It is not salty at all which I was worried about; you taste all the beautiful flavors of the shrimp, scallion, egg, and Peruvian spices. My order wasn't correct when I got home, instead I got yellow rice with shrimp. The staff was super cool about it and gave me another tray which I really appreciated. This also gave me the chance to try it and I honestly think I like it just as much, if not more than the fried rice. Need to mention that I didn't think that was even possible because I LOVEEEE the fried rice. The yellow rice dish comes with fresh red onion, tomatoes, and lime--when mixed with the rice it is OUT OF THIS WORLD. The flavors are absolutely amazing. For the price, I was concerned because it was a little up there but the portion size is worth it. My family has food for at least 2 more days. I will be returning here without a doubt!

Great environment, lots of food portion for the price and good service!…read more We had a layover and wanted to eat good food and saw this restaurant on Yelp. Decided to try it and when we arrived it was empty with street parking. It was a Tuesday night and pretty cold which is why I'm guessing no one was there. Lots of seating options, bathrooms were clean and they had a big screen of music playing. The waitress was very friendly and took our drink orders and food orders right away. We got the chicken and anticuchos along with chicha morada. Food came out fast and the plates were huge. Waitress was very attentive and brought out all the sauces, extra napkins and was on sight in case we needed anything. Food was great, cooked how we asked for it and potatoes were not burnt. I was happy with my order and experience and recommend this place.

As the name suggests, they specialize in pollo a la brasa, rotisserie chicken cooked over charcoal, typically accompanied with fresh cut french fries and salad. In addition, they offer daily specials, and a full a la carte menu. Perhaps most importantly, this is a place that cares about its sauce selection. You'll feel like a true painter armed with the plate as your palette. When I received my meal, the waitress even double-checked to make sure all the sauces were all full. Their chicken comes with 3 sauces (also called cremas or aji): - the yellow sauce - huancaina - the green sauce - aji verde - the brown/reddish - olive sauce, salsa de aceituna

When one Peruvian restaurant closes, another one opens…read more Puerto Peruano is a newly opened family-owned Peruvian restaurant found in the Seaport area of Elizabeth on 1st St. Restaurants regularly open and close in this area, as there is a less touristic aspect of foot traffic compared to downtown. Upon walking in, there's a strong aromatic smell of hot Peruvian dishes, either lomo saltado, or chaufa. There were several tables occupied by locals for lunch when I arrived. The architecture of the restaurant is a tad strange, although homely in its decorations, the restaurant being split in two halves by walls. The service was extremely friendly and attentive, full of smiles. The menu consists of seafood dishes (stewed and steamed fish, breaded, jalea, ceviche, soups, etc.) as well as other typical Peruvian dishes such as saltado, chaufa, bistec a lo pobre, and more, excluding pollo a la brasa. In addition, they have a whiteboard with daily specials. I went with the ceviche de pescado as well as a cup of chicha morada. The chicha was excellent with strong sweet flavor, topped with fruit. The ceviche was of great portion ($13), a nice crunchy but cooked fish taste, balanced by the lime and onions. It came with corn and a steamed sweet potato on the side, as is typical. It was served in a shallow fish-shaped dish, allowing ease of drinking the leche de tigre. As you can see in the picture of the ceviche, there is much attention paid to the variety of spices and herbs to the dish. The fact that the dish is very green, and there are fine chopped hot peppers are good signs! I look forward to returning to try some of their many hot dishes next!

Peru is much more than just Machu Picchu and other archaeological sites. It's a country where its…read morerich culture also shines through its internationally acclaimed exquisite cuisine, which has only recently exploded onto the international culinary stage. It is among the most generous and deeply rooted, with traditions reaching back to the Incas, a wealth of beautiful indigenous ingredients and culinary influences from Spain, Japan, Italy, Africa and China. Jersey is home to a wealth of Peruvian restaurants, found largely in Bergen, Hudson and Passaic counties. Passaic itself is home to the largest Peruvian immigrant population in the Garden State. Like food everywhere today, there is a new style of Peruvian cuisine emerging--so-called nueva comida--forged by Lima's leading chefs like Gaston Acurio and Pedro Miguel Schiaffino. Situated on a busy N Wood Avenue in Linden, some of my colleagues came to this establishment for lunch after a three-year hiatus. A reservation was made by calling into Stancia Peruvian Fusion Restaurant. Upon arrival, our table was ready inside a modern, well-decorated space with music blasting like a lounge to evoke a summer celebratory vibe. The menu is a bit fancier than other Peruvian eateries. We began with a jar of their homemade drink, Chicha Morada, made of purple corn, pineapple, lime, cinnamon and cloves described as fruity and tangy. As appetizers to share, we decided on Piqueo Stancia, Chalaquitas de Scallops, Calamar Frito, and Mini Papas-Rellenas. As the main dish, we opted for Pescado A Lo Macho (Corvina), Quinoa Chaufa with Scallops, Tacu Tacu con Lomo Saltado, Quinoa Chaufa with Shrimps, Quinoa Chaufa with Salmon, Tacu Tacu with Chicken, Pachamanca, and Arroz Chaufa de Pollo. Complimentary roasted corn accompanied the aji verde spicy hot green sauce that started our meal. Each dish is a work of art, not just in presentation but in the authentic flavor not too overpowering, it remained exquisite with a sizeable portion. This restaurant continues to impress us every time with their consistency and good customer service. Stancia has incredible food and a beautiful space, two things many restaurants struggle to get right. All boxes checked.
