I am extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism and customer service at this location. As a regular customer who frequently drops off packages here, I was turned away when bringing in my shipments, only to be confronted with a newly posted sign arbitrarily limiting drop-offs to six packages per customer for USPS. When I politely mentioned that it would have been helpful to receive advance notice of this sudden policy change--especially since the staff falsely claimed the sign had been up for a week--the older, tall employee with white hair was entirely dismissive and rude. Instead of offering a simple courtesy like accepting the packages this one time while kindly making me aware of the new rule going forward, he rudely snapped, "Well, you see it now, don't you?" and dismissively claimed the packages would probably just sit there for a couple of days anyway. If a business offers drop-off services for carriers like USPS, UPS, and FedEx, capping the volume defeats the entire purpose of the service. Treating loyal customers with open hostility and refusing basic customer courtesy is completely unacceptable. While the younger male employee who works here has always been exceptionally kind and professional, this older gentleman makes using this facility an unpleasant experience. When my wife and I moved to Olympia in 1997 we stayed briefly with my parents until we could find work. At the time they had pets that would damage our mail and we decided to rent a mailbox with Tumwater Pack and Ship. They have been wonderful. The service is great. There is always someone present to sign for packages during the day when we are busy at work, and they have always been friendly and helpful. When there was a rash of people stealing mail from mailboxes on our street, we knew our mail would be safe. When porch pirates became an issue in town, we knew that our packages would be waiting for us. If we need stamps, or tracking information, they are there to help. We've used the Notary Public service several times. We've had alcohol shipped there, and more Amazon packages that I could count. They are always ready to help if you need to ship something, and services include packing unusual items for you if you need assistance, Faxing, and Copying. I've seen everything from pallets of goods to small bubble envelopes containing tiny objects go through the store and they handle it all well. I'll go to Tumwater Pack and Ship before I'll go to UPS, FedEx, or the Post Office. They can handle mail and packages for all three and will tell you which shipping method is cheaper. I have been doing business here for a few years now and felt it was time to write a review since I have been extremely happy with the customer service. I appreciate having a variety of options for shipping instead of only USPS, UPS, etc. The facility is clean and the staff have always been very helpful in making sure I am getting the best option. The prices are fair and comparable to other similar stores but I appreciate that this store is locally owned and it shows through the quality service. Highly recommend coming here if you need to have anything packed & shipped or even utilizing their private mailboxes. read more

Very friendly staff. I just mover to Washington from Louisiana, so I had to do multiple shipments and notarize lots of papers. Some of my documents were tricky, as they needed several witnesses and the notary couldn't be one of them. They were very flexible always letting me know when it would be the best time to come back. There could be pretty long lines, but staff is working fast, so I never stood in a line too long. read more

The owner of this place is a jerk. I wanted to wait and see if my experience before Christmas was a one off, but can safely say on a slow Saturday my innocent question got the same kind of sneering answer. If not for the convenient location, the fact I'm paid up for the year, and the friendly employees, I wouldn't go in again. As it is, I'll be looking for an alternate location for next year. They are very friendly here. Even if you are dropping off a pre paid package they are courteous and swift. The UPS store across town is rude because they don't get the commission from the shipping. I make a point of coming here when I do need to pay for shipping as they treat their customers well even when they aren't profiting from them in every transaction. read more

I thought I would give these guys one more try around the holidays, but again that was my mistake! This place is ridiculously expensive and they do have lines! The customer service is lukewarm at best! Waited to be helped for quite awhile, at first I thought I was a supervillan like Mr. Invisible, then somehow I magically turned into a visible person and was addressed! I'll stick with the post office and FedEx in Lacey, trust me it's worth driving out of your way! I don't like leaving bad reviews, but I think it's important that the owner know how he made me feel and that he has lost a good customer. I visited this store several times and always had a pleasant experience. I have an Etsy shop and so I am frequently sending packages. I saw that they also provide full service copy and print services for a reasonable price. I needed some gift certificates printed out so I called them ahead of time to make sure it was something they could do. A man, who I am assuming is the owner (a tall, older gentleman with glasses), said that it would be no problem and so I went ahead and made the trip to their shop where they accommodated my request without incident. About a week later I needed award certificates printed out for a party I was having for my dance students so I went back to Pack and Ship and had a very different experience. There were a couple of other customers sending packages and the man working behind the counter and greeting customers was the same man who had helped me with my last print order. He was much less friendly than before and acted rushed despite it not being very busy and there being three other staff members working. He gave me the email address to send my certificates to so that they could print them. There were about 17 in all and I attached them to an email, as I had done before, and sent them. The salesman/owner's attitude changed completely upon seeing that the award certificates were for pole dancing. He became very rude and acted as if I were asking him to do something beyond the scope of services offered. He said I sent him a zip file (which I did not but shouldn't have been an issue because on their website they suggest you compress files into a zip file when sending), got all huffy and told me it would be awhile until they could have all of them ready. I replied that it was ok because I had some errands to run and would just return in an hour or two. He said it wouldn't be done until the following morning at the earliest. I apologetically told him that I needed them for a party that night and was preparing to leave to find another option for getting them printed in time when he lost his cool. In front of customers and several staff members he says, very loudly, "so what you're asking us to do is stop everything and print these up for you?" I replied, "of course not." He said, "No, that is what you're asking because  that's what we'd have to do. Stop everything, stop helping all of these other customers so that someone can stand over by the printer while these are printed out. So that's what you want?" I said "no, I am not suggesting that. But if it is only a matter of someone standing by the printer, I can do that." He replied with an exasperated, "No. You're not getting what I'm saying to you."  At this point, I was humiliated and just wanted to leave. He then insisted on printing the certificates and told me to see if they were printing out correctly. I quickly took my place by the printer and one after another they printed out without issue and we're done in under 10 minutes. During this time, he whispered and snickered with staff members and scowled at me. Meanwhile, I stood next to the printer feeling embarrassed and angry at myself for doing business there after this man had treated me so horribly as a customer. When the prints were done I went to the counter, paid, and left without an apology or an explanation. He simply rung me up, smirking smugly, and added insult to injury by acting over the top, sarcastically saccharine. I will never, ever, ever return to Tumwater Pack & Ship. Service has really fallen off at this place in the last year or so...was a time I could rely on TPS to sort my delivered packages (parts and materials for my side hustle) immediately and get them in my box within the hour, so I could manage my time running around town. There used to be an excellent team, one young man and a young woman, who were always hustling and always on top of the work load...I could rely on them to have my parts and materials in my box within an hour of my shippers notifying me they had been delivered. Now, seems like a revolving door of new staff, not noticeably hustling to help customers or get the deliveries sorted and distributed and I've been disappointed half a dozen times in the last 4 months with deliveries still not sorted and not available for pick up...what that means for me and my little side hustle (like today, again) is one day delay in finishing a project and delivering my own services. Its either that or go back later to pick up my stuff...which is about the same as losing a day anyway...might as well save the fuel. Current staff tries, and there is one guy that will look around for my stuff if I ask, but they are just falling short of what was once a very good operation. I'm afraid there just not very effective or efficient...if you are looking for a place to pick up your letters from home this is probably an ok place...if you rely on timely deliveries to meet your own deadlines,you might want to look elsewhere. read more

I received a shipping label in an email from a supplier and the email said to bring it to a Fedex authorized location to have a label printed. I utilized Fedex's shipping locator and it directed me to a "Fedex Authorized ShipCenter Tumwater Pack & Ship". I arrived at the location and informed the attendant behind the counter that I simply needed to have a label printed and shipped. Without another word, he told me a label would be another $2. I explained I already had payed the postage and as a Fedex Authorized ShipCenter I only wanted my label printed and my package shipped. Another employee walked up to the counter and said to the other employee, "He said he already paid for his shipping, why don't you look at his label and see if it can be printed." "Yes, here is a copy!" I pleaded, offering up my phone. He responded by saying, "I don't need to look at anything! Someone else was just in here with the same thing. If you want me to ship your package, it's another $2." he finished, turning to me. I replied that as an authorized Fedex ShipCenter this was not the service I expected. He informed me that Tumwater Pack & Ship is not an authorized Fedex ShipCenter. Though the website and Fedex's website say otherwise. I left and will not be returning to Tumwater Pack & Ship due to the rude employee attitude, ignorance and blatant deception. read more
