Fish is fresh, but I wish the chef option would have more variety. As you can see out of the 13 fish (7 pieces of sashimi & 6 nigiri), half of them are tuna and salmon (too basic?), nigiri rice wasn't overwhelming. Squid legs karaage was good. Service was fine, I came at 8:30pm it wasn't busy because it's close to closing hour. read more

We went here on a Saturday around 3:15pm and there was no wait! The restaurant looks small inside, but I liked the amount of seating available. Anyways, we were quickly seated and were told to pick a spot to sit at since the restaurant was empty when we arrived. While looking through the menu, I noticed the menu didn't have as many sushi options compared to other places. I was still ok with the lack of options since I tend to always order my usual rolls anyways. We ordered the Dragon Roll and the Lion King Roll. Both of the sushi rolls were smaller than we expected, but at least it tasted good and held together well. I really liked how the tempura in my Dragon Roll still had a nice crunch to it and also how the Lion King Roll wasn't too overly saucy. I do wish the sushi was a bit larger though, since that would make it feel more worth it for the price paid. I'd recommend this place if you're not too hungry because the sushi pieces here are smaller than usual OR if you had a random sushi craving. read more

Teruaki is my favorite sushi place in the city, the owners are so welcoming and considerate with the way they prepare and serve you. We came in on a Sunday to have some evening sushi and they had the 49ers game playing on their tv. The feel of the restaurant gives comfort and home. I highly recommend this place. More of a 4.5 star experience, but rounded up. Quality/Quantity - I was starving when I got here; a consequence of eating excessively healthy, daily salads... My guest let me do the ordering since they did not have her usual order - Salmon bento box. So today I ordered the following: Sushi Plater - Fresh and the CA rolls were done well. Decent size fish, but I actually could have used a little more rice with each Nigiri. But overall, we were happy. Caterpillar - One of my guest's favorites. Again, done well, fresh, and of decent quantity. Romeo & Juliet - I honestly do not think I have ever gotten this roll before. It was my favorite. Not just because of the freshness and decent quality, but because it was new to me, and a good combination of a roll. There are a couple of rolls I have also never tried before. But that just means I have to come back soon. Atmosphere - Very small local business. 4 booths and 4 counter seating. Not even a sushi bar... Very limited street parking; I had to park 2 blocks away. Open 6 days a week for dinner only, see Yelp. Closed on Wednesdays. Service - Good. Both team members greeted us when we entered. We were the only customers. Our waters were refilled often. Price - $50 + tip. Very reasonably priced for what we got. Actually, I would consider it inexpensive for SF. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by AKI, who provides attentive service throughout your meal. Meanwhile, her husband, TERU, crafts beautifully balanced, top-tier sushi rolls right behind the counter. This restaurant is only ran by TERU and AKI, and they maintain a VERY high standard for their food. The experience is refreshingly simple and unpretentious, no gimmicks, just exceptionally good food. Straight to the point. The Romeo & Juliet Roll is my favorite, it's balanced well and the scallops are phenomenal! The 49ers Roll has the most delicate hints of lemon along with the perfect matchstick cucumber pieces - The chef is incredibly skilled with his knife. I've had Yama in Los Angeles and Nobu in Newport, but Teruaki in San Francisco stands above them all. Ordered through door dash. I had high expectations based on other reviews. Unfortunately, my order was disappointing. I will try again in a couple weeks. Shrimp tempura roll 3/5. Was the best of three items. The roll was fresh, but ultimately lacked flavor/seasoning. There was one piece of shrimp tempura in the roll. Salmon toro sashimi 2/5. The fish looked beautiful and the smell was fresh, but the texture was off. It was chewy and I did not eat. Wakame salad 2/5 probably the most disappointing of the three. The seaweed was so overdressed that it was dripping with dressing. I enjoy an overdressed salad. This was beyond. Unfortunately had toss it :( read more

We arrived after the usual hunt for parking. 4 tables - two empty. Usually Japanese restaurants are so welcoming. No greeting until we spoke. Then we were told they could not serve us for an hour because they had too many to go orders. No apology or regret for turning us away If they are only to go - they should close the door and take out the tables. And their customer service indicates a lack of people skills. If we'd gotten a 'sorry we can't serve you tonight' it would be a different picture than NEVER again. read more

Even though the menu is small, boy it is mighty. For the outer Richmond and its price point, I would definitely come back because the quality is fantastic. My friend and I first started with the vegetable croquette, which was fine. The consistency was great! Then we got the sushi and sashimi platter and a volcano roll. So much yum. The volcano roll really did look like a volcano, and all of it was just great. Lots of crab on top and I always dig a spicy tuna situation. After tasting all the fish on the platter, our favorites were the scallop, yellowtail and salmon, so we ordered some nigiri. I think the best part was the fish to rice ratio. This place is a very small sushi restaurant on Geary in the Outer Richmond. We came here on a Tuesday for dinner for a party of 2. We ordered 4 rolls, which was a lot as we ended up taking about 1 roll's amount worth back home. We ordered a Lion King roll, Four Seasons roll, Romeo & Juliet roll, and Cherry Blossom roll. Overall, the rolls were really big and had great variety. The service was pretty standard. There were not really many other people in the restaurant when we were there. The booth chair I sat on was kind of uncomfortable or stiff, but overall, the experience was solid. read more

Our server Ivana is so sweet, when we came in she greeted us with so much kindness. I recently visited Teruaki and was absolutely blown away by the exceptional service and quality of sushi they offer! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and patient overall. I was impressed by the variety and uniqueness of their inventory. You can truly tell that each item is thoughtfully selected with care and attention to detail. I found exactly what I was looking for! (Order the 49er roll it is delicious we ate it so quickly!!) What stood out the most was the personalized customer service. They took the time to understand my needs and made thoughtful recommendations without being pushy. It's rare to find such genuine and attentive service nowadays. I also appreciate how they support the local community by sourcing from local artisans. My wife and I discovered them because they are just a couple of blocks from our home. Fresh, delicious, good sized portions. It's pretty small and have a pretty simple interior, and they don't have an extensive menu, but everything we've tried has been great! The staff are friendly and down to earth. 11/3/23. Ordered ahead from DoorDash and my order came around 830PM. *Celebrate Bf's Birthday Month wOohOo!* I have to mention that DoorDash driver, Enver was superb! Two Orders of: Sushi & Sashimi platter $29.95+ each. I compared the prices and amount of pieces from other restaurants. This place is more bang for your buck! It's not the greatest quality sushi but good enough. The ngiri and sashimi were Kukje Market quality. Not bad at all! The sashimi was better than the ngiri. I'm glad the ngiri set had scallop and unagi in it, but the scallop had a some what fish-y taste. You can never go wrong with sake (salmon). Unagi was delicious! Kukje most likely sells $20 for a platter like this. It was like, do I really wana drive all the way to Daly City at this time? Or just chill at home and have the food come to me? Sooo.. I paid $10 extra and ordered from here lol The california roll WOW'd me!!! From the crab meat, avocado and the sushi rice. It was lowkey melting in my mouth and flavors were on point! I think that was one of the best California Rolls, I've ever had! Also, I love how presentable every thing was. From the radish, shiso leaf, sushi and even the to-go plates! Cute. Very cozy quiet spot walking distance from presidio / legion of honor! We got seated right away, and the prices for the menu were very affordable. Meal came with hot tea and water. Quality of fish was great and was so fresh - that was my favorite part of the meal. I think we got like the sashimi platter that came with rice. Karaage is in smaller pieces but plentiful portions and then we got a classic roll. Staff was very friendly and they also sell some asian snacks and drinks at the counter! This is my favorite sushi place in the Outer Richmond. The sushi is excellent. They're also very thoughtful in the way they pack the food, keeping hot dishes separated from cold dishes with a cardboard buffer. They also consolidate all the veggie/vegan rolls into their own containers, keeping them separate from non-vegan rolls. I'm impressed. read more

We ordered takeout, when I arrived to pick up the food wasn't ready and the waitress was so nice and offered me warm tea. The rolls were great--the fish was fresh and the salmon bowl was good. I really appreciated that the rolls had a perfect balance of flavors without feeling heavy, and they were impressively large. The ratio of rice to filling was perfect. Even better - Teruaki is run exclusively by husband (Chef Teru) and wife (Aki, who runs front of house). They are wonderful, kind, and warm people who bring it all together. Fresh and delicious sushi at a great price. You can tell that the food is made with care! We got the salmon maki, eskimo roll, and tried the hamachi with scallion. The rice was well seasoned and the rolls were packed with fish. Very cute presentation as well. The best part was the price! Basic rolls (with lots of fish) for $6-7 which is impossible to find anywhere else. The owners were very friendly and provided quick service even when they were busy with online orders. You might be surprised to see the small seating area, but definitely stop by for some well priced and delicious sushi. read more

Was hanging out by ocean beach since it was a nice day and we felt like some sushi so checked this place out. The rock-n-roll and the 49er roll hit the spot and were reasonably priced. The miso soup was hot and tasty and the rolls were just enough to fill us up without getting too full. Everything came out quick and we were on our way in less than 45min. read more

New sushi joint Teruaki in the outer Richmond district (33rd Ave & Geary Blvd). Went during lunch time. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Ordered: Green tea Miso soup Vegetable croquettes Shrimp tempura Sushi platter - 5pc nigiri w/ California roll Sashimi grade scallops (specialty item) I like the limited menu as some places have too many items and the quality then lacks in the taste or presentation (I care more for taste though). Definitely the food here does NOT lack in taste nor presentation. Sushi Platter (5 pc nigiri - Chefs choice w/ California roll) the nigiris tasted fresh. My favorites were the salmon and tuna. The California roll was so good. Just a note: their California roll is made w/ imitation crab, but it tastes a lot better than other sushi spots I have been to. Vegetable Croquettes, in which you get 2 pcs for an appetizer, were so crunchy on the outside and the filling tasted just right. Not soggy. I should have ordered another. It was that good. Sashimi-grade scallops - first time ever having this kind of sashimi and it was so good! Tempura shrimp was a crispy on the outside and the shrimp was cooked good very well. My opinion, it was just right. I hate overly breaded and overly salted tempura and this hit the spot! For an appetizer, you get 3 pieces. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area. The 38/38R stop directly in front of the restaurant. Parking can be a little difficult to find because it's in a heavily residential area. But if you go during lunch, I think you can find a spot here and there. read more
