Good heavens, almost exactly one year later I stopped in, ordered the same food, sat in the same seat, and they remembered me! What a treasure this place is!

Teruaki is my favorite sushi place in the city, the owners are so welcoming and considerate with the way they prepare and serve you. We came in on a Sunday to have some evening sushi and they had the 49ers game playing on their tv. The feel of the restaurant gives comfort and home. I highly recommend this place. Give it a try next time you're in SF!

More of a 4.5 star experience, but rounded up. Quality/Quantity - I was starving when I got here; a consequence of eating excessively healthy, daily salads... My guest let me do the ordering since they did not have her usual order - Salmon bento box. So today I ordered the following: Sushi Plater - Fresh and the CA rolls were done well. Decent size fish, but I actually could have used a little more rice with each Nigiri. But overall, we were happy. Caterpillar - One of my guest's favorites. Again, done well, fresh, and of decent quantity. Romeo & Juliet - I honestly do not think I have ever gotten this roll before. It was my favorite. Not just because of the freshness and decent quality, but because it was new to me, and a good combination of a roll. There are a couple of rolls I have also never tried before. But that just means I have to come back soon. Atmosphere - Very small local business. 4 booths and 4 counter seating. Not even a sushi bar... Very limited street parking; I had to park 2 blocks away. Open 6 days a week for dinner only, see Yelp. Closed on Wednesdays. Service - Good. Both team members greeted us when we entered. We were the only customers. Our waters were refilled often. Price - $50 + tip. Very reasonably priced for what we got. Actually, I would consider it inexpensive for SF. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success for the last two years; I look forward to becoming a regular. If only the parking was easier...

Delicious and fresh sushi. I have high standards for sushi and this place is sooo good. While the inside could be cozier, it doesn't matter because the sushi is so tasty! Incredible prices & lovely service as well. Plan on coming back here.

What a hidden gem! Searched yelp for sushi after a long day and found this spot. Service was great and the sushi was bomb. Ordered the special rolls: Caterpillar, cherry blossom, shrimp&eel (forgot the name), and volcano. Favorite was the volcano roll!

The Romeo & Juliet Roll is my favorite, the scallops are perfect! The 49ers Roll is perfectly balanced and refreshing!

Teruaki easily takes first place in my book for high-quality sushi, and the price happens to be unbeatable. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by AKI, who provides attentive service throughout your meal. Meanwhile, her husband, TERU, crafts beautifully balanced, top-tier sushi rolls right behind the counter. This restaurant is only ran by TERU and AKI, and they maintain a VERY high standard for their food. The experience is refreshingly simple and unpretentious, no gimmicks, just exceptionally good food. Straight to the point. The Romeo & Juliet Roll is my favorite, it's balanced well and the scallops are phenomenal! The 49ers Roll has the most delicate hints of lemon along with the perfect matchstick cucumber pieces - The chef is incredibly skilled with his knife. I've had Yama in Los Angeles and Nobu in Newport, but Teruaki in San Francisco stands above them all. It's the kind of spot you'll want to gate keep and tell only your favorite people about.

Their rolls are good sizes and they are quick! I prefer them to Kufuya which is nearby.

Don't sleep on this little gem. Looks can be deceiving. Teruaki is a small, 3 or 4 table spot. No flash but the food shines. The sushi was really excellent and very well presented. Definitely going back.

This place is a very small sushi restaurant on Geary in the Outer Richmond. We came here on a Tuesday for dinner for a party of 2. We ordered 4 rolls, which was a lot as we ended up taking about 1 roll's amount worth back home. We ordered a Lion King roll, Four Seasons roll, Romeo & Juliet roll, and Cherry Blossom roll. Overall, the rolls were really big and had great variety. The service was pretty standard. There were not really many other people in the restaurant when we were there. The booth chair I sat on was kind of uncomfortable or stiff, but overall, the experience was solid.

Our server Ivana is so sweet, when we came in she greeted us with so much kindness. I recently visited Teruaki and was absolutely blown away by the exceptional service and quality of sushi they offer! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and patient overall. I was impressed by the variety and uniqueness of their inventory. You can truly tell that each item is thoughtfully selected with care and attention to detail. I found exactly what I was looking for! (Order the 49er roll it is delicious we ate it so quickly!!) What stood out the most was the personalized customer service. They took the time to understand my needs and made thoughtful recommendations without being pushy. It's rare to find such genuine and attentive service nowadays. I also appreciate how they support the local community by sourcing from local artisans. It feels good to shop somewhere that cares about the community as much as they do about their customers. I highly recommend Teruaki to anyone looking for quality products and a delightful shopping experience. I will definitely be returning soon! This place is the cutest !!

Fresh, flavorful sushi and excellent service! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Definitely a place I'd come back to. Highly recommend!

Hands down best sushi I have had in SF! We got takeout and everything was incredible! Our favorites were the Lava Roll and Tempura Roll. I can't wait to go back!

11/3/23. Sushi & Sashimi Platter. $29.95+ each. LOVE their Sashimi, Unagi and how California Roll melts in mouth!

11/3/23. Ordered ahead from DoorDash and my order came around 830PM. *Celebrate Bf's Birthday Month wOohOo!* I have to mention that DoorDash driver, Enver was superb! Two Orders of: Sushi & Sashimi platter $29.95+ each. I compared the prices and amount of pieces from other restaurants. This place is more bang for your buck! It's not the greatest quality sushi but good enough. The ngiri and sashimi were Kukje Market quality. Not bad at all! The sashimi was better than the ngiri. I'm glad the ngiri set had scallop and unagi in it, but the scallop had a some what fish-y taste. You can never go wrong with sake (salmon). Unagi was delicious! Kukje most likely sells $20 for a platter like this. It was like, do I really wana drive all the way to Daly City at this time? Or just chill at home and have the food come to me? Sooo.. I paid $10 extra and ordered from here lol The california roll WOW'd me!!! From the crab meat, avocado and the sushi rice. It was lowkey melting in my mouth and flavors were on point! I think that was one of the best California Rolls, I've ever had! Also, I love how presentable every thing was. From the radish, shiso leaf, sushi and even the to-go plates! Cute. I'll have to try their other entrees. Happy eat's ya'll =)

Parking is fairly easy with metered spots out front (free after 6 PM) and plenty of residential street parking within a few blocks. If you're dining with a group, their preset menus make ordering simple. I also recommend if you don't do a preset to add a grilled charbroiled pork dish or the five-spice chicken to balance out all the seafood and make the meal feel a little more substantial. Great food, great service, and a restaurant that's remained a favorite for good reason.

Restaurant is really nice, family atmosphere and you can see everyone enjoying their food. We ordered the Crab set dinner menu for 6 people. There were 5 of us so this set menu was perfect. The server was nice and laid back, easy to talk with and was efficient. He brought first the drinks, beef papaya salad and imperial roll. The salad was crispy with aromatic flavor and beef was tender. The imperial roll was crunchy in the outside and tasty in the inside with the pork, noodle and veggies. Next came the rest of the meal set: roasted crab, peppercorn crab, shaking beef, sea bass, string beans and garlic noodle. It was great that they brought the food all at once. The roasted crab in lemon garlic butter was outstanding. It was full of flavors and went well with all the other dishes. The peppercorn crab was full of umami flavors! It was battered, crunchy and the spices like the garlic and peppercorns were just delicious. It was cooked like a calamari style which was amazing!! Both crabs were big and meaty!!! The Sea bass was soft with just the right touch of seafood soy sauce and sesame oil. The beef was tender, bite size and savory. The string beans were cooked perfectly and still had a crunch into it. Garlic noodles were delicious! This is a must have with the meal, better than rice. It was enough to soak in all the different sauces and spices that it almost seemed like it cleansed our palette so we can keep eating. We all had a great time eating our food. It was fun and the first time that we had a family gathering this way where our hands were full of crab meat and sauce. It was very messy, but in a good way!! The fried banana with Mitchell's signature ice cream mango and macapuno was freaking delish!!! The battered on the banana was light and airy, so crunchy that it melt in your mouth. Add the ice cream and you can't stop thinking why this dessert is so delicious!! It was truly a great way to end a wonderful dinner with family. Love this place! Will come back over and over again!

I was searching for food recommendations near Ocean Beach and this was by far the most popular…read moresuggestion and I'm glad I went with it. It's a very busy place a couple blocks from the beach and there is no indoor seating, just a couple tables outside. I would highly recommend ordering online beforehand due to the long wait and they make it super easy to just walk up and pickup when it's ready. I got the 3 piece fish and chips (a little on the pricier side) and it was just great all-around from the cod to the fries and to the dip. Lots of flavor and the cod had a good crisp to it. So yeah check this place out and head to beach nearby.

It has been years since I first ate at Hook Fish, so I was stoked to finally revisit today…read more We ordered the fish and chips alongside the burrito with the grilled fish of the day (Rockfish). The fish and chips were solid. The batter was crispy, and the fish was flaky --what more can you ask for? The thick-cut chips were also seasoned well. Now, the fish burrito is not your typical Mission District burrito, nor is it a classic San Diego-style fish burrito. It feels unique to Hook Fish and the Sunset. It's incredibly hearty, packed with a generous helping of slaw, beans, and rice. While it has plenty of flavor on its own, it pairs beautifully with their house habanero carrot hot sauce! My only gripe is that the rockfish plays more of a supporting role rather than being the main star of the burrito show. This place has gotten wildly popular over the years, so service can vary depending on the crowds. Outdoor seating is a bit limited, but I highly recommend dining here if you can grab a spot. Eating fresh seafood with Ocean Beach just blocks away is such a vibe! Plus, there's a cute coffee and bookstore right across the street to help you combat the inevitable food coma afterward.

Quality/Quantity - We had a large group, thank you for accommodating. I believe we made reservations, where we would not be seated until everyone showed up. Good thing the group all showed up on time (for once, lol). Ordered the following for our table, our other table had our larger half of the group. But due to the door mishap, I did not want to walk over to take pictures of their food/order. Okonomiyaki Fries - Was too soggy for me, but everyone else on our table enjoyed it. Popcorn Salmon - I did not enjoy this, but everyone else on both tables loved it, so it was "a me problem." Boneless Fried Chicken - I enjoyed it, but no one else did?!?! I guess I have very different tastes from this group...? Tonkatsu Ramen - Good. But very basic. Beef Short Rib Plate - Three orders, both people enjoyed it. Actually, our young eater ate 1.5 of this plate, 1/2 from his mom's order. This order also came with a side salad and steamed rice. Bulgogi Plate - I can't remember if I got my rice?!?! Well, the beef was of decent quantity, I actually brought a little back home for leftovers, with the boneless fried chicken. At home, it was a little too salty, too much soy sauce. Sizzling Bibimbap - My daughter's dish which was also good. I believe she had leftovers. Our other table got the regular bibimbap, they said next time they will try the sizzling as they felt that was better. Lastly, our guest on the other table ordered one of each dessert for both tables. Mango Panna Cotta & Chocolate Tartufo - I am not a chocolate person, but enjoyed the Tartufo better. Our guest wanted Soju! The first time, so we ended up ordering two hot larges. Smooth and went down too easily. I then finished my meal with a Ballast Point Sculpin IPA. Love the menus and the happy hour information. Might come back for HH. Small local restaurant. A few tables and bar seating. Clean restrooms, two unisex. Street metered parking, free after 6pm. Plenty of street parking. Service - Okay, the front door has issues... It stays open, then does NOT close. It is slanted, so you have to "force" it to close. When we ALL got here, I guess we left the front door open by accident. Well, the waitress did NOT appreciate that (I stayed outside taking my Yelp pictures while everyone else walked in). She gave me a LOOK... While I was still outside, more people came in and I tried to close the door for them and because the door is slanted, it did not close and had to be "forced" resulting in a slam, sorry. Got another look... After that, I went straight to my seat. Menus on the table. Price - Expensive, or did we order too much? I think our bill with tax and tip came out to almost $800. Overall experience disappointed me enough to go out of my way to leave this review…read more Now, I adore seafood boil so this was disheartening. We came in at 6:45-7; we ordered cajun fries, a seafood combo, garlic noodles, & some steamed rice. Canjun fries to start, was the only thing that tasted good. Garlic noodles were bland and consistency was too soft; I expected from the reviews stating "stand-out" garlic noodles it would taste exceptional, but instead they're noodles with a whisper of garlic. The seafood boil was probably the worst. They definitely gave us the scraped leftovers of the pot, poured in boiling water, and called it a day. ABSOLUTELY NO FLAVOR. We kept trying to dig into the bag and giving it an absurd amount of chances to eventually discover better flavor using all my faith, only to be left so dissatisfied. It was supposed to be a mix of Canjun and Garlic Butter flavor, but the better description compares to orange water with chopped vegetable bits. No richness, no gloves given, flavor and viscosity similar to water, and the seafood definitely wasn't fresh either as it caused our stomachs to feel pretty sick after. I felt so shocked I experienced a seafood boil that could hold no flavor especially when you consider all the seasonings and preparation that goes into it. I left feeling sad having to pay for an inadequate dinner.

Barely any garlic flavor, and the noodles were stuck together like they were holding on for dear life. I ordered one mild and one spicy -- except they both tasted the same: SPICY AS H*LL. And this is coming from someone with a high spice tolerance. The shrimp? Way too soft, almost mushy. And some of the clams came with just the shell -- like a cruel little seafood prank.
